Thank you sm for this! The past year I’ve tried installing reshade on my new pc with no success, and this FINALLY addressed all the issues I was coming across
the game loads up fine for me except after the step where you edit the notepad and copy and paste the stuff in there. when i launch up the game and press home, the whole game crashes
Hi!! I’m having an issue with using the 4.9.1 reshade! I downloaded it correctly but when i downloaded the presets they wouldn’t work. The message kept popping up “unable to save current preset, make sure you have write permissions to C:\program files (x86)/ (preset name)” I’ve done all the research I could but no matter what I do it doesn’t seem to work. I decided to switch to this version of reshade bc my game was lagging really bad (even tho I cleaned out some of my files that tend to make it lag) so I was hoping this version would work better but now idk. Someone help how do I get the presets to work?
an easy fix: take ownership of the reshade.ini file in ur sims 3 directory (I copied the step by step from chatgpt lol) Right-click on the reshade.ini file. Select Properties. Go to the Security tab. Click Edit. Click Add. Type Everyone and click Check Names. Click OK. Select Everyone in the list. Check the box for Full control. Click Apply and then OK.

1. Load up your game and it should generate the text fields in the notepad. 2. Do 'Save as' and save it on your desktop. Then just drag and replace the .txt file.

Hi! This video is very useful. I can really say that you did a really good job with the step-by-step explanation of everything, but I have a problem, and that is that I do all the steps in the right order and well, but when I run it, it keeps loading on a black screen and the game exits? Any recommendations?
You can follow similar steps (like at 14:42) to grab the address bar location of the folder, except you'd point it to the Textures folder and the Shaders subfolders.
Hiii I followed the tutorial step by step and for some reason the reshade.ini file isn't popping up at all for me. I have the steam version if that matters :-: + downloaded the shader files exactly as they should be

okay, i’ve done everything step by step however, when i load my game and pull up the reshade dashboard, none of the shaders and textures that i saved from you are appearing. were you able to recover your broken save? my save also broke shortly after installing 5.2.2 reshade and it still crashes even after uninstalling the reshade...
That’s so strange. When I was using the most recent version, I get a crash to desktop when clicking the ‘Settings’ tab, hence why I didn’t use for this video. 😩 This program is so finicky.

As long as you ONLY install it on Sims 3, you are safe.
