Hey all. Here are 10 awesome vanilla trucks for Phase 6 Maine. I did not include the Zikz 605R for variety, but I think most people know it is a MONSTER. The Tatra T813 is also excellent, especially as it has roof supplies for rescuing the Aramatsu Forester. What else did I miss?
The Tatra Force, it's what I used to build the garage. It performs very well in Maine, but unfortunately it's got a turning radius the size of Jupiter 🤣
Azov 42-20. I keep it parked near water over road areas so it pulls the stuck trucks across the water. Better than the Cat as it is not afraid of the water.
The tatra force is a beast. Once it reaches highest gear it will stay there, period. And you can do a little trick with its crane if you tip over (just keep pressing the gas to keep the engine running, while you go into the advanced menu)
WTF? Your joking right? Playing this game as released with the trucks provided is an excruciating exercise in futility and boredom. EVERY in game truck is a totally useless pile of crap. I had bought them all before I started using modded trucks. I’d play for a while then quit for months. The only reason I kept coming back is because every other new game is just as bad as this one is. Modders are the only thing that saved this bad practical joke of a game. I won’t even bother wasting money on anything new until it’s been out for a year or more. If the price point has dropped from sixty bucks to $6.99 in that time it tells me everything I need to know. I see this one’s down to $35.00. If not for modders I’m sure it would be closer to 99 cents.
I actually loved the idea to "fix" the garage. More quests where you build buildings from the ground would be awesome in the future : nothing like seeing a region expand thanks to your own hard work. (even if some buildings popped out without having a purpose, like a café or town hall... it would still be cool to have, like they do with bridges.)
I agree with this. It'd be great if we see more improvements as you toil away in each region. Even improved roads would be great too so that if you do enough hard work, you can be rewarded with an easier road to traverse.
I just got back into SnowRunner after a one year or so hiatus. I stumbled upon your videos and just wanted to say that your style and execution is terrific :) Love the humor and narration.
Some people love this game some people hate this game because they don’t understand it. For those of us who work outside and conditions where these trucks often are seen in real life this game is quite interesting. Plus if you’re any sort of gearhead you love hearing that snarling growling the motor of a big truck with lots of power.
That's it. I think a lot of people were surprised by how satisfying the game is and us petrolheads just love crazy powerful machinery taking on Mother Nature.
Having just finished Maine, I want to tell you how much I appreciate the opening shot of this video. I spent my entire playthrough taking that route up the bumps instead of going through the mud trap, but every time I did, I couldn't help thinking "is this really the best way?", thinking there was something obvious I was missing. I'm glad to see some reassurance that I wasn't blind the whole time.
Definitely easy to overlook shortcuts and the best possible paths, especially in Amur. Some extremely sneaky shortcuts for those willing to experiment a bit! Maine too if I recall correctly.
Derry longhorn 4520 is probably my favorite base game truck. I used it for logging missions in imandra and it did better than the western star 49x and a model truck my other friends were using. Actually had to pull them and their loads through most of it
I'm currently doing missions in Maine and this region (especially the Lowland map) finally gave the 6900 TwinSteer an opportunity to shine. As you say, especially in more open areas you can drive this beast around with relative ease. But I'll never cease to be amused at my different driving styles with the TwinSteer. When it's empty: Devil may care, let's barrel down this hill with the pedal to the metal! Whee! - With cargo: careful there, steer, counter-steer, low gear here… just a little to the right… no no don't sway now… *sweaty palms* LOL! Cheers, //Rick
Fun fact: I have been using the Zikz 605R fitted with a fuel tank addon as a scout. It's *relatively* compact, very stable, and basically never runs out of fuel this way. Also, it still carries 600 or so repair points. Have I said unstoppable? Very nice list, by the way - I found myself using a very similar collection of trucks, with the exception of an added Tatra T813.

I really like the variety in this top 10 instead of just repeating all the overpowered trucks that are normally listed, so you earned a like and comment for that! Challenge accepted!!!
It's so easy to use the Russian trucks on the US maps, but they make the game too easy - my preference is to only use the trucks on that map that you can buy for that region, and that goes for all maps, that way you get to use a wider range of the vehicles, and some that you never thought of using before (because you're always using the Azov or Zikz on every map), might surprise you!
I just got the Maine content recently and I absolutely love the constant challenges, and that indirectly and unintentionally forces you to play as if it were hard mode. I got the white western star stuck without gas, loaded, and the CAT idk the reference, white one, came with the game pass, fully loaded, by a river (forward base) having to go back, because it just wont cross the river loaded and towing a fuel trailer. I shall bring reinforcements!
Ok so obviously the Azov 73210 is not an 8 wheeler but 10 either way great video as always dude! I love the TwinSteer but it is so easy to tip with it which is why I try not to use it :( The Zikz 605R is still my go to truck for most things in the game and it feels nice to have a use for the scouts again.

Ive found that alot of the vanilla trucks sometimes struggle alot on this map, so, I have a list of top 5 mods/mod trucks 1. The "Titanium", its perfect as a forward base and conquers all terrains with ease, and has a heavy crane for truck rescues 2. The zikz mod pack, it adds back 2 of the best 8x8s from mudrunner, and brings a 12x12 and a 20x20, all have diff locks and locked awd stock, along with spare fuel addons and insanely big and great tires. 3. GWC behemoth, very similar to the pacific P16, but very customizable and has awd, lacks in range though. 4. Z2 80's Rally DON, exceptionally fast with a smaller profile and is incredibly good at running around a scouting routes for the heavier trucks on this list! 5. Any tweaked truck mods, they often are very low storage and ram consuming, while also being incredibly good at all around things, and fix many flaws the original trucks had.
Hey Ben, I feel like telling you this now that we are halfway through what is possibly the last season o f this game is a bit late, but I think some ppl , including me, would be interested to know which 10 best truck you recommend, when staying faithful to the region's purchasable trucks. For example here, on top of the 10 best truck for Maine....mention what other top 5 American truck you would recommend. I think it would be nice to see which US scout you would use here if you didn't have the Tatarin or how do you manage in Russian regions without the 745 or the 5600. Still love your content regardless. Cheers!! :)
Hey Max. You're right, I have not done a truck round-up that stays true to a region. I'll try to look into that! I have a few gaps in my guides that I will try to fix. Cheers for sticking with the Tribe for so long!
Hay Tribe. I just finished phase 6 and all missions in snowrunner about a week ago and I did use alot of these trucks. Zikz, 73210, tayga 6436, tuz 420 tartarin, loadstar, twin steer, and the western star for a fuel truck. Awesome video man! I love your narration style. Been watching for awhile.
Nice List and a go for it for sure...I know that most are vanilla, but an underated "scout" is the Croc as DLC...only donw is that you cant have an autonomous winch...But man I go everywhere with it with an Fuel Tank on it. As for using Mods. I have no prob with it as long the vehicles are balanced...there are so many op ones out there, they steal the fun out of the Game... As for the point if that game is good or bad...Its a game as realistic as it should be...More realism and than ppl will complain about that too...Guys play the game to your liking and enjoy it...We all have I am sure enough RL Stress so we dont need more in our downtime. hahaha yes The Irish Pub is a little light on 'space'. I'm about 3/4 through maine...then I'm back to do amur. (I took a break that lasted Yukon, Imandra and maine ... Amur is brutal) although I have upgraded a ton since my first crack at it...
Love the vids! I don't think jumping to other maps is cheating exactly. IRL you would need to support your operation by importing equipment & resources and send equipment away for service until your base was operational! At great expense! The game simulates this by making it a pain in the ass to have to do! 😎
Azov-42-20. Slow. But goes through everything. Its tippy nature can be somewhat countered by using its articulated frame to stabilize itself by steering towards whichever way it wants to roll. Azov 5319 is another one that everyone writes off because of its lack of fuel. But it has a lot of power and one of the highest if not the highest top speeds in the game with high range gearbox. While it will go through deep stuff, if you can avoid it and take advantage of its high gear speed it will get places much quicker than most trucks.
Ben, do you have a fave couple of mod trucks you keep going back to? I have tried a number of them and I always come back to the same two. I have to give praise to 'Big Bob' mod because for me the noise, the nice slow articulation and steady dogged progress along with lovely detailing make it a mod well worth looking at. What are your personal faves?
I do seem to find myself always using the Azov Iceberg and 714WM. The 73210 with the Tayga tyres looks tempting though so maybe that will get added to the list!
I am about 1/3 done with Maine and I’ve been using the P12 and dragging an 8 slot trailer around and using a Tayga as a tug but man that P12 truck sucks I’m going to sell it and get the 4520.
If there was a region where you could rebuild or build up a small town and a couple of indurstial things like warehouses and ports and possibly a highway contract where u have to restore or build it
I like that. Maybe one day there will be multiple games of different genres, so SnowRunner is the driving element, then there could be a sim management element, real-time strategy and so on. Would be cool.
Yeah the 4520 especially with the latest mods is a passable truck, but a combination of a lack of supplies and annoying fragility makes it somewhat lacklustre. The 605r is where it's at
It's definitely not the best, but I quite like recommending stuff out of the usual top 10. If only for variety and the fact some trucks have not been useful since phase 1 or before lol.
You see to me the Tayga 6436 is the truck that has fiddly steering. Oversteer combined with a light rear end that slides around a lot to me makes a pretty awful driving experience. Combine that with low ground making the truck prone to engine and/fuel tank damage and yeah. Like I use the Tayga from time to time, it's not the worst truck in the game or nothing. But it is seriously, seriously overrated. I like the 6455 better. With a longer frame they gave it more shallow steering which I like as it feels smoother. It also feels heavier and has much better ground clearance. It does seem to have a suspension where it can take a hard bounce over bumps, but I rather slack off the gas a bit for a bump then drive the 6436. Voron AE might still be one of my favourites. Smooth steering, feels nice as heavy, to me this is still one of the best trucks in the game for getting a MudRunner driving experience in SnowRunner. I wish more trucks was like the AE to be honest. As for objectively most useful trucks, this is what worked pretty well for me - CAT 745C - Forester - CAT CT681 - Western Star 49X - KOLOB (Cabover) - Ford F-750 - Yar 6X6 - Navistar - Western Star Twin-Steer - Azov 8X8 or 10X10 I used the 745C + Forester to haul 3 medium logs in 1 go. Why these over a truck? Well while the tractors may be slow, they are also incredibly stable. Logs are organised differently in their beds, sitting wide and low instead of narrow and high like the truck beds. And the articulated frames help greatly in wiggling through mud/snow. They are also heavy and bulky so they can overcome the raging water currents you find in Lowlands. Like the Tatarin they don't have snorkels so can't do deep water, but deep water can be avoided. And we all know how tippy the medium log is, well if you do lose your load then the Forester has a crane right there you can use to reload. Honestly for all the benefits in stability, utility, and offroad performance. I'm more then happy to sacrifice speed in return. While I love the Tatarin and it is the most beastly offroad scout, I gotta replace it with the Yar for Maine. There are some missions and contests in Maine that require the use of scout trailers, and the Tatarin unfortunately cannot use trailers. So while it's a beast I recommend using for purely scouting, for all around utility I gotta let the Yar take the win on this one. The F-750 is one of the best utility vehicles carrying a lot of spare fuel and repairs. However there isn't enough concrete slabs in the region for all missions, so sooner or later you will need a generator at the crafting station. And the F-750 makes for a great truck to power on and off the generator without needing to use up one of your big trucks. Most cargo in this region is 2 slot or 4 slot, so the Azov 8X8 and Twin-Steer is most useful. However I agree the 10X10 is a great option. The CT681 and 49X oddly makes quite a capable little due for hauling short logs. Stick some UOD II's on them and use medium low when needed and they are quite capable offroad, and get even better when the weight of logs is added to their frame. I like driving the CT681 and pulling the 49X as the 49X has a center front winch, which is so good for making sure the second vehicle stays in line with you and isn't always trying to veer left or right. While you need to be a little bit careful with them, their overall stability even when loaded with logs honestly isn't to bad at all. I'd say the 49X has the advantage between the two in terms of stability, but neither truck is awful. Take your time and don't attempt to tackle any deep holes on a 45 degree slanted angle and you should be fine. To top it off these two trucks have great engine power and aren't to bad on fuel consumption either. I've used this duo in Season 4, Season 5, and Season 6 so far. The results are quite good. The Navistar is great for the few saddle low mission trailers or for hauling fuel tankers to where you need them. It has lots of power, and being such a heavy truck it can resist the water currents which again is helpful. It's also good in mud as well. If you don't have access to a Navistar then you could use a Voron AE which is a similarly heavy 6X6, or just use your desired Azov. But if you have a Navistar, Maine is a great region to make use of it. And of course the KOLOB. Look the 605R is a great truck, it really is, I love the thing. But you should never be trying to use a 8-Slot trailer without the KOLOB. The active suspension just helps so much, and the vehicle mere gurf and weight isn't just good for the water currents, but it helps in bullying the 8-Slot trailer around and making it do what you want it to do. It really is a essential saddle high vehicle. Honorable mention to the Derry 4520, P12 and P16 which are all capable choices for for long logs logging duty.
Very detailed response and some great points. Personally I find the 49X and CT681 a bit weak for later maps (Maine is an exception). But ultimately if you enjoy using a truck, that's what matters. The performance difference between most is not huge anyway. Except trucks with only highway tyres. They still need a buff. Or repairable roads.
@@ATribeCalledCars What trucks only have highway tires? UOD II and OHD I are pretty much just as good as mud tires, and I think all trucks either has them or mud tires in the actual mud class. From stats I remember looking up on Google, mud tires start at a 2.0 mud rating. These are the mud tires the Azov's have for example. Meanwhile UOD II and OHD I is a 1.9. So they ain't that far off. Though the Azov's do still extra grip from having a 4th axle compared to a dually truck. But still. I don't remember all the other stats, I think the Tayga tires is like a 2.4 or something. But those stats have always stuck with me for the daully setup trucks. But like I said these lighter trucks with high horsepower, they rely more on the drive. Gotta use medium low in soft to reduce wheel spin, or avoid soft spots if possible. It does help I'm always using those two trucks in tamdom but even then, you can't always just stick them in high and go. Sometimes even the wheel spin in Low+ can be a little to excessive. They aren't by no means easy mode trucks, but they are a good duo and get the job done.
@@justinlynch3 Well some trucks are limited to allterrain at best if I recall correctly, which are ineffective at the best of times especially when in a small size. Those tyre stats are accurate but only tell part of the story when it comes to the physics.
@@ATribeCalledCars I dunno man. Even the Trabstar and CLT 9000 get up as far as offroad tires, though they might be limited to all-terrain chained tires. Maybe that's what your thinking of? Cause I'm pretty sure all trucks get at least offroad. I can't think of any they are restricted to all terrain unless we are talking about chains.
No graphics mods but I do use 2x instead of 4x because it helps me keep a consistent 60fps when recording on PC. What sort of differences are you noticing?

If you can get the Zik 605r unlocked in the Cosmodrome map of the Amur Region, the Zik 605r cruises through the ice in the Yellow Rock map of Maine with very little difficulty. I think the Zik 605r should be in the list for sure!
I've been utilizing the Azov 73210 for more than some 800 hour's. Only two, both with fifth wheel's; One high on low. Since the release of the Masatdon. As alway's. Using my experimental slot; I gave it a try. Though only via the entire Michigan and Alaska region's. I've now swithched to having only a Yar and now two Mastadon's, again whith one high and one low fifth wheel. At some point or other, watching numerious video's since I started playing this game. I don't believe there is "ONE" truck; That at some point hasn't been the "BEST" truck in a video. In my now more than 1,200 hour's of playing, I've come to the realization that most of the various unmodded game truck's are designed for modded map's, not the game map's.
As a pensioner, I have lost patience and time is also short - lol. But thank goodness, I have found a garage that supplies me with grey import engines ;).
hey guys. is it better to have most powerfull engine or the worst? I always wonder. most powerfull engine consume more fuel but drive you through better and faster while engines with less power make it slower. but copmaring distance to fuel consumption I always felt that in the end that engines with less power made better job. I mean. slower but much fuel efficient. what dou think?
I think if a truck has enough torque and big enough tyres you can get away with the mid or weakest engine. I know some people do this with the Tayga 6436 and enjoy better range. However, as you say I think being able to cover ground fastest has its advantages too. Most tasks don't need maximum fuel range and so with a weaker engine they take longer, effecting your overall efficiency. If we had an MPG meter it would make it easier to judge! I guess try it out in your favourite trucks.
Western Star Twinsteer....one of the worst trucks (tips over a lot)...where you are ten times more efficient (for example with a Zik 605r) with a cargobed (2) and a (5-6) slot trailer. (The Trailer Shop-Unlock is the first and quickest thing to do in Maine)
I see this a lot, totally valid way to play! It makes some sense in terms of difficulty up until the DLCs, I'd say. The Russian stuff becomes pretty tempting in Yukon, for example.
I Will change the tayga for the russian spanish (64131) because i'm an Azov boy, but i agree on all, and include the kolob flat front to do deliveries between Maps With the 8 slot trailer

you did not include ziks??? shame on you 😂and 73210 is 10 wheeler, but thats ok. by the way, in part of 6900, there is a fater ( and more stable ) way to go. just turn left before after going around that first big turn. there will be a clearing and you can go straight to other side. no deep waters and rocks. just in case, for easyer game and life

I had to stop and #4 and say... REALLY? That Derry is still the most disappointing truck in the game. The engine did nothing for it. Yes, it will pull stuff, but you might as well buy the Clasico Pack and do every mission with scout trailers. Come on Tribe, you're better than that. (i know the rest of video will be great)
I quite enjoyed using it, it's a satisfying truck despite being anything but top tier as I said in the video. I try to add some variation into my top 10s because ultimately the best trucks rarely change and it would get a bit dull repeating them all lol. Also some people enjoy the added challenge! Agreed! I found the garage missions very satisfying! Now imagine if through forestry work we could also clear paths for roads...

Oh yeah that can work nicely. I think you have to be quite patient to scout in a scout these days unless it's modded. Bigger trucks for the win!

1. The "Titanium", its perfect as a forward base and conquers all terrains with ease, and has a heavy crane for truck rescues
2. The zikz mod pack, it adds back 2 of the best 8x8s from mudrunner, and brings a 12x12 and a 20x20, all have diff locks and locked awd stock, along with spare fuel addons and insanely big and great tires.
3. GWC behemoth, very similar to the pacific P16, but very customizable and has awd, lacks in range though.
4. Z2 80's Rally DON, exceptionally fast with a smaller profile and is incredibly good at running around a scouting routes for the heavier trucks on this list!
5. Any tweaked truck mods, they often are very low storage and ram consuming, while also being incredibly good at all around things, and fix many flaws the original trucks had.
Hey Ben, I feel like telling you this now that we are halfway through what is possibly the last season o f this game is a bit late, but I think some ppl , including me, would be interested to know which 10 best truck you recommend, when staying faithful to the region's purchasable trucks. For example here, on top of the 10 best truck for Maine....mention what other top 5 American truck you would recommend. I think it would be nice to see which US scout you would use here if you didn't have the Tatarin or how do you manage in Russian regions without the 745 or the 5600. Still love your content regardless. Cheers!! :)

Hay Tribe. I just finished phase 6 and all missions in snowrunner about a week ago and I did use alot of these trucks. Zikz, 73210, tayga 6436, tuz 420 tartarin, loadstar, twin steer, and the western star for a fuel truck. Awesome video man! I love your narration style. Been watching for awhile.

Nice List and a go for it for sure...I know that most are vanilla, but an underated "scout" is the Croc as DLC...only donw is that you cant have an autonomous winch...But man I go everywhere with it with an Fuel Tank on it.
As for using Mods. I have no prob with it as long the vehicles are balanced...there are so many op ones out there, they steal the fun out of the Game...
As for the point if that game is good or bad...Its a game as realistic as it should be...More realism and than ppl will complain about that too...Guys play the game to your liking and enjoy it...We all have I am sure enough RL Stress so we dont need more in our downtime. Cheers Mates have fun.
hahaha yes The Irish Pub is a little light on 'space'. I'm about 3/4 through maine...then I'm back to do amur. (I took a break that lasted Yukon, Imandra and maine ... Amur is brutal)
although I have upgraded a ton since my first crack at it...
Not a bad shout to come back to Amur, Yukon can be brutal and is slow but Amur's difficulty spike is largest. Unless Phase 8 is worse...

Love the vids! I don't think jumping to other maps is cheating exactly. IRL you would need to support your operation by importing equipment & resources and send equipment away for service until your base was operational! At great expense! The game simulates this by making it a pain in the ass to have to do! 😎
Azov-42-20. Slow. But goes through everything. Its tippy nature can be somewhat countered by using its articulated frame to stabilize itself by steering towards whichever way it wants to roll.
Azov 5319 is another one that everyone writes off because of its lack of fuel. But it has a lot of power and one of the highest if not the highest top speeds in the game with high range gearbox. While it will go through deep stuff, if you can avoid it and take advantage of its high gear speed it will get places much quicker than most trucks.
I found myself using a highway gearbox in some stuff, too - it works surprisingly well!
Ben, do you have a fave couple of mod trucks you keep going back to? I have tried a number of them and I always come back to the same two. I have to give praise to 'Big Bob' mod because for me the noise, the nice slow articulation and steady dogged progress along with lovely detailing make it a mod well worth looking at. What are your personal faves?
I do seem to find myself always using the Azov Iceberg and 714WM. The 73210 with the Tayga tyres looks tempting though so maybe that will get added to the list!
I actually fixed the garage with only American trucks and I primarily utilized the WS49x and the Chevrolet Kodiak

I am about 1/3 done with Maine and I’ve been using the P12 and dragging an 8 slot trailer around and using a Tayga as a tug but man that P12 truck sucks I’m going to sell it and get the 4520.

If there was a region where you could rebuild or build up a small town and a couple of indurstial things like warehouses and ports and possibly a highway contract where u have to restore or build it
I like that. Maybe one day there will be multiple games of different genres, so SnowRunner is the driving element, then there could be a sim management element, real-time strategy and so on. Would be cool.
That small zizk truck the 4x4 one is pretty good if fully upgraded its my go to scout just gotta watch those turns
Yeah the 4520 especially with the latest mods is a passable truck, but a combination of a lack of supplies and annoying fragility makes it somewhat lacklustre. The 605r is where it's at
It's definitely not the best, but I quite like recommending stuff out of the usual top 10. If only for variety and the fact some trucks have not been useful since phase 1 or before lol.
@@ATribeCalledCars Yeah I like that, like the azov 64131, really useful but really slow, it has everything else going for it.
You see to me the Tayga 6436 is the truck that has fiddly steering. Oversteer combined with a light rear end that slides around a lot to me makes a pretty awful driving experience. Combine that with low ground making the truck prone to engine and/fuel tank damage and yeah. Like I use the Tayga from time to time, it's not the worst truck in the game or nothing. But it is seriously, seriously overrated.
I like the 6455 better. With a longer frame they gave it more shallow steering which I like as it feels smoother. It also feels heavier and has much better ground clearance. It does seem to have a suspension where it can take a hard bounce over bumps, but I rather slack off the gas a bit for a bump then drive the 6436.
Voron AE might still be one of my favourites. Smooth steering, feels nice as heavy, to me this is still one of the best trucks in the game for getting a MudRunner driving experience in SnowRunner. I wish more trucks was like the AE to be honest.
As for objectively most useful trucks, this is what worked pretty well for me
- CAT 745C
- Forester
- CAT CT681
- Western Star 49X
- KOLOB (Cabover)
- Ford F-750
- Yar 6X6
- Navistar
- Western Star Twin-Steer
- Azov 8X8 or 10X10
I used the 745C + Forester to haul 3 medium logs in 1 go. Why these over a truck? Well while the tractors may be slow, they are also incredibly stable. Logs are organised differently in their beds, sitting wide and low instead of narrow and high like the truck beds. And the articulated frames help greatly in wiggling through mud/snow. They are also heavy and bulky so they can overcome the raging water currents you find in Lowlands. Like the Tatarin they don't have snorkels so can't do deep water, but deep water can be avoided. And we all know how tippy the medium log is, well if you do lose your load then the Forester has a crane right there you can use to reload. Honestly for all the benefits in stability, utility, and offroad performance. I'm more then happy to sacrifice speed in return.
While I love the Tatarin and it is the most beastly offroad scout, I gotta replace it with the Yar for Maine. There are some missions and contests in Maine that require the use of scout trailers, and the Tatarin unfortunately cannot use trailers. So while it's a beast I recommend using for purely scouting, for all around utility I gotta let the Yar take the win on this one.
The F-750 is one of the best utility vehicles carrying a lot of spare fuel and repairs. However there isn't enough concrete slabs in the region for all missions, so sooner or later you will need a generator at the crafting station. And the F-750 makes for a great truck to power on and off the generator without needing to use up one of your big trucks.
Most cargo in this region is 2 slot or 4 slot, so the Azov 8X8 and Twin-Steer is most useful. However I agree the 10X10 is a great option.
The CT681 and 49X oddly makes quite a capable little due for hauling short logs. Stick some UOD II's on them and use medium low when needed and they are quite capable offroad, and get even better when the weight of logs is added to their frame. I like driving the CT681 and pulling the 49X as the 49X has a center front winch, which is so good for making sure the second vehicle stays in line with you and isn't always trying to veer left or right. While you need to be a little bit careful with them, their overall stability even when loaded with logs honestly isn't to bad at all. I'd say the 49X has the advantage between the two in terms of stability, but neither truck is awful. Take your time and don't attempt to tackle any deep holes on a 45 degree slanted angle and you should be fine. To top it off these two trucks have great engine power and aren't to bad on fuel consumption either. I've used this duo in Season 4, Season 5, and Season 6 so far. The results are quite good.
The Navistar is great for the few saddle low mission trailers or for hauling fuel tankers to where you need them. It has lots of power, and being such a heavy truck it can resist the water currents which again is helpful. It's also good in mud as well. If you don't have access to a Navistar then you could use a Voron AE which is a similarly heavy 6X6, or just use your desired Azov. But if you have a Navistar, Maine is a great region to make use of it.
And of course the KOLOB. Look the 605R is a great truck, it really is, I love the thing. But you should never be trying to use a 8-Slot trailer without the KOLOB. The active suspension just helps so much, and the vehicle mere gurf and weight isn't just good for the water currents, but it helps in bullying the 8-Slot trailer around and making it do what you want it to do. It really is a essential saddle high vehicle.
Honorable mention to the Derry 4520, P12 and P16 which are all capable choices for for long logs logging duty.
Very detailed response and some great points. Personally I find the 49X and CT681 a bit weak for later maps (Maine is an exception). But ultimately if you enjoy using a truck, that's what matters. The performance difference between most is not huge anyway. Except trucks with only highway tyres. They still need a buff. Or repairable roads.
@@ATribeCalledCars What trucks only have highway tires? UOD II and OHD I are pretty much just as good as mud tires, and I think all trucks either has them or mud tires in the actual mud class.
From stats I remember looking up on Google, mud tires start at a 2.0 mud rating. These are the mud tires the Azov's have for example. Meanwhile UOD II and OHD I is a 1.9. So they ain't that far off. Though the Azov's do still extra grip from having a 4th axle compared to a dually truck. But still.
I don't remember all the other stats, I think the Tayga tires is like a 2.4 or something. But those stats have always stuck with me for the daully setup trucks.
But like I said these lighter trucks with high horsepower, they rely more on the drive. Gotta use medium low in soft to reduce wheel spin, or avoid soft spots if possible. It does help I'm always using those two trucks in tamdom but even then, you can't always just stick them in high and go. Sometimes even the wheel spin in Low+ can be a little to excessive.
They aren't by no means easy mode trucks, but they are a good duo and get the job done.
@@justinlynch3 Well some trucks are limited to allterrain at best if I recall correctly, which are ineffective at the best of times especially when in a small size. Those tyre stats are accurate but only tell part of the story when it comes to the physics.
@@ATribeCalledCars I dunno man. Even the Trabstar and CLT 9000 get up as far as offroad tires, though they might be limited to all-terrain chained tires.

No graphics mods but I do use 2x instead of 4x because it helps me keep a consistent 60fps when recording on PC. What sort of differences are you noticing?
In your video the Voron AE-4380 has a Medium and small logging frame addons. Is this DLC specific because I am unable to get these on my own Voron?

If you can get the Zik 605r unlocked in the Cosmodrome map of the Amur Region, the Zik 605r cruises through the ice in the Yellow Rock map of Maine with very little difficulty. I think the Zik 605r should be in the list for sure!

I've been utilizing the Azov 73210 for more than some 800 hour's. Only two, both with fifth wheel's; One high on low. Since the release of the Masatdon. As alway's. Using my experimental slot; I gave it a try. Though only via the entire Michigan and Alaska region's. I've now swithched to having only a Yar and now two Mastadon's, again whith one high and one low fifth wheel.
At some point or other, watching numerious video's since I started playing this game. I don't believe there is "ONE" truck; That at some point hasn't been the "BEST" truck in a video. In my now more than 1,200 hour's of playing, I've come to the realization that most of the various unmodded game truck's are designed for modded map's, not the game map's.
Personally I use the bandit, once you get past it’s stupid instability it’s pretty good

hey guys. is it better to have most powerfull engine or the worst? I always wonder. most powerfull engine consume more fuel but drive you through better and faster while engines with less power make it slower. but copmaring distance to fuel consumption I always felt that in the end that engines with less power made better job. I mean. slower but much fuel efficient. what dou think?
I think if a truck has enough torque and big enough tyres you can get away with the mid or weakest engine. I know some people do this with the Tayga 6436 and enjoy better range. However, as you say I think being able to cover ground fastest has its advantages too. Most tasks don't need maximum fuel range and so with a weaker engine they take longer, effecting your overall efficiency. If we had an MPG meter it would make it easier to judge! I guess try it out in your favourite trucks.
The derry new engine is good with off road gear box don't have enough power for high range. So it's better but just ok not great
Western Star Twinsteer....one of the worst trucks (tips over a lot)...where you are ten times more efficient (for example with a Zik 605r) with a cargobed (2) and a (5-6) slot trailer. (The Trailer Shop-Unlock is the first and quickest thing to do in Maine)

I see this a lot, totally valid way to play! It makes some sense in terms of difficulty up until the DLCs, I'd say. The Russian stuff becomes pretty tempting in Yukon, for example.

I did when I mention the Tayga 6436, I said it's an alternative but takes a while to get.
The only down side for the 5600ts you need to pull a fuel trailer behind for long period of use has it is a gas guzzler

REALLY? That Derry is still the most disappointing truck in the game. The engine did nothing for it. Yes, it will pull stuff, but you might as well buy the Clasico Pack and do every mission with scout trailers. Come on Tribe, you're better than that. (i know the rest of video will be great)
I quite enjoyed using it, it's a satisfying truck despite being anything but top tier as I said in the video. I try to add some variation into my top 10s because ultimately the best trucks rarely change and it would get a bit dull repeating them all lol. Also some people enjoy the added challenge!
