Hi everyone! Hope you enjoy my first official VCE-based discussion for TH-cam! If there is anything you'd like me to chat about in the future, then by all means, let me know! By the way, my reference to the 85 ATAR was purely to point out the disparity between a 95 and 85 ATAR score, not that 85 is a bad mark - so don't take it the wrong way! Lisa :)
Lisa's Study Guides hihi I’m yr 9 next year I would be in yr 10 and I have hard time choosing my subjects in VCE cause I’m rlly bad in studies and I always get very low mark I always have a aid sit next to me and help me. However I’m just wondering should I should methods mathematics or further cause I heard that further math means getting low jobs wages.
i’m in year 10 and i chose these for year 11: - english language 1/2 - general maths 1/2 - italian 1/2 - psychology 1/2 - health & human development 1/2 - music performance 3/4 :)
My Subjects in Year 11 3/4 Psychology Chemistry 1/2 Maths Methods 1/2 Specialist Maths 1/2 English 1/2 Religion and Society 1/2 My Subjects in Year 12 Chemistry 3/4 Methods 3/4 Maths Specialist 3/4 Further Maths 3/4 English 3/4 *ATAR* (2020) = ???
I’m in year 10 but at the moment I’m gonna pick for my vce... - chemistry - media study’s - history (revolutions) - CAD - literature And I’m not sure about the other
I had hear that you said you really enjoy in maths, but I actually so struggle with maths. Do u have any hacks with learning maths?? Maths methods! Furthermore, I'm a ESL student, do you have any friend could give advice for ESL subject! Thanks!
I'm in Queensland and I'm in Year 11 doing General Maths, General English, Business, Psychology and Design. 3 out of these subjects are easy asf only hard subject is either Psychology and General English
I chose chemistry and methods as well! I'm struggling if I should do spesh in year 12. I've done year 12 methods and I chose further for next year to focus on chem... Everyone persuades me to do spesh cuz it scales so much. I don't know if I made the right choice.
As a SACE year 12, I spend more time studying methods than specialist! Don’t be deterred by fear of struggling, go by what you enjoy :P I’m doing better in specialist than methods.
Many thanks for making this video:)) All your videos about VCE are such extremely amazing and advantageous. Im 'bout to reckon to choose one of my VCE subs to do in yr 10. Im pretty confused if I do a VCE sub in yr 10, so may I be able to do the VCE exam for that subject in yr11 after i complete its 4 units???
Yes definitely do it. In doing HHD in year ten and eleven and it definitely helps because you get extra points and then it means that you can do four instead of five subjects in year twelve.
Is there any restrictions on picking subjects? For example if I wanted to do all humanities subjects, but is there anything that says you can only do maybe 2 or something? Or can I just go all out on anything I want to study? (Apart from having to do english of course)
My subject wishlist and interests are very torn as I am interested in many subjects! I was wondering if anyone had advice on their past experiences? Year 11 wishlist: 1/2 English 1/2 Methods 1/2 Chemistry 3/4 Environment 5 & 6 options (in no particular order) : Biology, Legal Studies, Accounting, Health and Human, Visual Art or Japanese.
Hi! So I'm going to be studying a higher education subject this year during year 12 and I was wondering if you would know how it contributes to an atar? (Does it convert to study and will it be in my primary four or not etc)
+Sarina Chhoeung It's going to be either your 5th or 6th subject from my knowledge - therefore only 10% of the score you get will contribute to your ATAR. I think a whole video could be dedicated to discussing Uni subjects, so maybe I'll do just that! :)
@@vcestudyguidesonline omg, i just re-read my comment. It had such a negative approach. I should be sorry. No worries i am just a really picky person at times. Sorry again.
Don’t know if it was this video or a different one of yours but LIT DESERVES MORE SCALING YESS
'I've spent so much time in spesh just struggling...' I relate to that so much, it makes me wanna cry
hehe :'( those feels
I wish I was good at English. I spend 70% of my effort on just it. Specialist is a breeze compared to english imo
yea i cant relate tbh english is the hardest subject
Plus is mandatory
I struggled so much so I decided to just do methods :(

what happens if you only have a total of 5 3&4 units....in year 12 because of not doing a year 12 subject in year 12?
Then you have your top four and 10% of your worst subject going towards your ATAR, it doesn't make much of a difference.
Lucy Carter ok cool thanks
Hiya, I'm going back into the Australian system halfway though the year in July. Could you please explain to me what 'scale' is?
It's how some subjects can be bumped up or down to give you a different final score :)
hi, can u talk more about the subject chinese u chose in vce?
How much scale go up when we choose persian language in year 12?
Hi, does studying english literature benefit you from going to medical univerisity??
so did you ever take advance English? because I'm kind of unsure whether I should choose it or not.
how about doing three Maths if I am good at maths?
I’m happy with my subjects. All maths based 😁
Tnx very informative
How many subject can we choose ? ☺
maximum of 6 minium of 4
@@jojokyemo oh ok. Thanks
Humanities is my favourite
Does biology get scaled down or is it neutral 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Bale JR might go up by 1, so scaling for it is quite negligible
English actually scales down!! unless your're doing EAL which scales up
Not if you get 45 and above for English!

what is vce ?
why are you watching a video about victorian curriculm if you dont know what it is
I want to study medicine at university. What subjects do I need to do for VCE?
many unis ask for methods and chemistry as pre req but check courses online at unis at you want
at least one science subject biology or chemistry and also maths. But it depends on the uni courses
