I've heard that the intake manifold should have slight imperfections so that the air can tumble past. It is the same theory that keeps golf balls in flight further than a smooth ball. Tiny dimples supposedly help airflow. What kind of power gains have you seen from this?
do you flowbench your ports after?by the way 60grid does not polish at all...we use 80grid as ruff grid to do the porting...gota go 120-220 after its good to go....60grid is way to ruff bro you left thousands of scratches...you should mesure your ports as well so they dont come out uneven like some of them look...just trying to help ya! (i work at the best engine building, porting, machining shop in canada) (Raceheads) you gona see us at amsoil engine masters challenge with a gen 3 hemi with w2 heads pushing around 700torque take it easy keep up the work!
Wont the scratches left from the 60 help? I dont know about porting and polishing but I hear often that a somewhat rough surface is better for intake side and exhaust can be mirror finish and smooth I better? So if he wants the polished look that exhaust side gets the it should be rough right? Or am I way off?
What are the advantages of port and polishing intake manifolds and other interior engine parts? Do you gain more HP than how the part comes from factory because the air can flow more freely through the intake?
Yes. the skunk 2 ultra race manifold I did, we did a mild port & polish and gained an extra 10 CFM, then we took it to the shop for a little more porting on the runners and gained an extra 100 CFM of air flow which leads to greater horsepower..The manifold was bench tested.. so these are proven facts not just me saying this.

You can "polish" any grit you want. Just always step up slowly. 80/120/300/400/600/800/1000/1500 etc..
Can you send the link ? And also how did they cut it
Good video bro. You should upload this in honda bays.
Thanks Ricko, I'll look in to it
good Idea
there is a better Idea
extrude honing.
better less chances for the manifold to split open on a boosted application.
Elder Brock must be somebody from his church.
Where is the link? Keep finding the expensive ones I need one for b16

Use sanding rolls first guys....
For the record, the ones on ebay with the logo not in the photo are indeed counterfeits. Decent ones but they are fake
thats oldtimers
There are other things you spend your time and money on besides this that will result in more horsepower for time and money expended.
looks horrible
