I really love how you go so into depth about WHY the jazz are so good and how they’re different from other teams. You explain perfectly what they’re doing right, as well as highlighting what each player brings to the table. On top of that you make it fun and engaging the whole time
I’ve heard a lot of analysis about the Jazz lately but this breakdown with the offensive video clips is next level. The time and effort you’re putting into this shows. Great stuff!
Worth pointing out that it’s the starter unit in second place, and the bench unit delivering the best performance. This is likely a result of the starting unit facing the opponents starters while the bench unit faces the opposing bench. It’s really remarkable how the Jazz are running, essentially, two equivalent sets of players for their starters and their bench unit.
@@HoopVenue could you do one for the defense too though? You do such an amazing job and it’s really amazing how Hardy has blended zone and man and box and one, and even switching from one to another DURING a play… would love to see you do more Jazz breakdowns! :)
so interesting watching breakdowns like this. been a jazz fan all of my life, but i pretty much just watch whoever has the ball lol. thanks for the coverage!
I just wanted to hear something while having my meal but god damn I didn't know i'd be schooled as to why Utah has been playing incredible ball lately. I love the video!
They're fully healthy, a lineup shift and keeping the pedal down while also keeping everyone fresh has coincided with a bit of scheduling luck and stepping up against some of the better teams. I'm stoked for them this season. They should stand pat and see where this team goes the rest of the way.
The west is incredibly stacked, and it would be even more stacked if not for the Grizzlies' injuries. The east conference is full of small teams. Hopefully the west wins all the next 20 years. Olynyk is incredibly underrated.
Lauri is such an off ball monster. His speed running around the court and around screens for someone his size is really special, not to mention his size that lets him shoot over people and finish really well both on the move and in iso situations. Underrated player and is really what makes this offense go the way it does.
Since I mostly only get to watch highlights of this team I had to revisit this vid cuz it was actually an amazing breakdown. I can see their concepts way more clearer even just from highlights. Hell of a video dude. One hell of a coach they have too.
1 thing awesome about Lauri that durigs his career he alwats hits the shot when the team MUST score, He and clarkson are the guys who win games and re men when needed at the end.
Excellent analysis. I am a long time Pistons fan and your vid showed me some things that the Pistons should improve in their defense. Utah does have some challenges on the defensive side but a lot of those are masked with how well they protect the rim. When its time you should consider doing analyese of team needs before the draft and free agency. I was impressed good job
the funny thing is that the mavericks have the a player who is arguably the best scorer AND playmaker in luka doncic, but dont seem to be on the offensive level of some of these teams, just goes to show how outside of him and kyrie the supporting cast is pretty terrible
I also think a lot of that has to do with coaching, Jason Kidd hasn’t really done much to propel the offense forward besides adding some more movement and post-up opportunity to Luka’s attack.
I'm back to normal now! Some lingering allergies that show up in my voice every now and then but outside of that we're back to the grind. Appreciate your concern though fr, hope you enjoy the video!
Awesome analysis--in my simple brain, I like the summarize the Jazz's recent success like this: None of their players have massive egos or play like ballhogs, and the entire team is playing true team basketball. Even Markkanen, who is the team's biggest star, doesn't need to control the ball or the offense to put up numbers. The 5 guys on the floor look like they are having fun and are playing true, unselfish team basketball.
It’s worth noting that the first lineup plays against other bench units more, so the other five is likely better in a raw sense, just not statistically speaking.
When you start to appreciate the complexity of what they are doing, you also start to see how much individual player responsibility is involved, and the ability to execute this kind of offense takes a lot of time and team chemistry. This is part of why it took the team a while to find its legs and can, at least partially, explain how they can transition from being one of the worst teams in the leagues to Ken if the best.
Utah TEAM play demonstrates how efficient they are when the BALL doesn't typically go to a Ball Dominant ( high salary ) player. All these plays show all 5 pieces moving with purpose and makes it very difficult to defend. This is a basketball master class !
Lauri was born to this type of game! Unselfish teamball. Finnish national team became famous for it's "wolfpack ball". They were lacking the talent so they started to double all the time and wear down opponents with running. It was really beautiful to see back then.
I’m mad I was right about this team because they kicked my Rockets out of the play in There so much fun to watch tho. Would love to see them in a playoff series
you are so good at breaking down nba games and the way the players are playing you should be a nba analyst for real im going to spam espn and everyone to hire you
don’t be shocked if this continues the rest of the season. jazz might’ve genuinely found something that clicks and wouldn’t be surprised to see them as a 7-4 seed
The jazz have been a great regular season team for a while now even going back to Rudy/Mitchell. Them lacking a true star will hurt them again this playoffs and I don’t see them getting out of round 1
No, they're playing Basketball. Basketball is chess, even iso-ball is chess. What's changed is Utah now has a very versatile, talented roster of Chess pieces and they're playing as a Unit.
People keep talking about the Jazz trading Kelly Olynyk. But I absolutely think they should make a big effort to resign him. He does everything for them and doesn't make mistakes
I’ve been watching the jazz for some time now. Since I was a kid now. I won’t lie jazz players usually have a hard time sharing the ball, communicating or even trying to listen to the coach But will hardy sorta remains me of pop, he doesn’t give a damn, if you don’t get along with ur teammates, don’t share the ball or have a problem with his style then you don’t belong in utah. He will literally put u in ur place n have other players get a chance. Ive asked people online n most of them dont knw who Simone is. Lol Danny Ainge is a great scout. He knows how to play chess

Totally agree. Great job. Go Keyonte.
Your breakdown of a team’s offensive scheme is ridiculously good.
That means a lot, thank you!
It's pleasant to see the Jazz over the Lakers and Warriors.
Always love when teams surprise like that, makes the season so much more interesting.
Something i honestly didnt think was possible
You always have to love teams like this. No superstar carrying, just 5 guys playing great together.

Everything you said is correct, just crazy to me that 10 different players produce 2 amazing lineups. Not many teams like that.
@@HoopVenue takes a ton of buy-in from players not getting as many minutes and those minutes being kinda irregular. Amazing coaching job from Hardy
Kessler's, Ochai's and Dunn's Defencive ability is also awesome. And Will Hardy is top 3 coach with Ty lue and Eric Spoelstra :)
Yep, if I went into the defense we’d be looking at a 90 minute video so I had to keep it shorter 😂

This year you are absolutely right but the past two seasons the east has won more games than the west ;)
The way you explained the off-ball screening and overall movement was amazing. Good job!
Thanks!
I wanted to see a video about this team because…wow. Big turn around
I just love this Jazz team, it gives the “beautiful game” vibe

What an excellent video! You do a great job highlighting Exactly what makes the Utah jazz, the Utah jazz. Very great analysis

I did not expect on the last part of your video, I thought laury, sexton duo line up is the best for jazz, but base on your record its JC,Olynyk
It’s worth noting that the first lineup plays against other bench units more, so the other five is likely better in a raw sense, just not statistically speaking.
EXCELLENT BREAKDOWN! Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching!
Great breakdown. Winners have an owner who lets the GM set the pieces, and a coach whose offense maximizes talent. The Jazz have all three!
Took me a good 4 minutes into the video just saying “where TF is Kyle Lowrey” I always pronounced his name “lore-ey” so makes sense now
Multiple people have said this lol

Well Lauri is close :24th points/game and also 25th in rebounds/game. But i get your point.
Yeah he’s amazing, just not a “volume scorer” in the sense that those other teams have guys in the top 3-8 in PPG.
it just goes to show that team play is more important than individual players
Need a great balance of both to be successful!
that olynyk pass at 11:15 is just ridiculous
He's legitimately one of the best passers in the league and nobody talks about it!
Took me a few minutes to realize that he was saying "Lauri" and not "Lowry" lol
"Yo where Kyle Lowry at?" - me in the 1st few minutes
You aren’t the only one!
That's how it's pronounced: sounds like Lowry.
don’t be shocked if this continues the rest of the season. jazz might’ve genuinely found something that clicks and wouldn’t be surprised to see them as a 7-4 seed
The Jazz are either one trade away from a complete rebuild or becoming a dark horse team in the playoffs
Hoping for JC, Lauri and Sexton in Allstar
Could we maybe get a GG Jackson vid? That’d be hype
they are a complete team. their only weakness is if 1 of them gets injured they'll struggle...
