Wow! What an amazing experience it would've been travelling in this airline! Every part of this journey was a treat to watch!! I also noticed how you closed this trip with Marathi language :) Yet again, I'd love to meet you if you're still in Mumbai.
Great video of your flight with Virgin Atlantic to Mumbai. But I noticed an error in the early part of your video, as the 787-9 taxied to 27R for departure. So as the aircraft you're goes past aircraft, you describe aircraft type and destination, whether its departing or arriving. As the Virgin Atlantic 787-9 approaches 27R for departure, your video captures an A330-300, departing for IAD, Washington. But your caption states British Airways. It was in fact a Virgin Atlantic A330-300.Unfortunately BA does not have any A300-300's in their fleet. I'm sure you are fully aware of this. Most probably a typing error.
Recently flew Heathrow-Mumbai as well but on British Airways. From what I see in this video, fairly similar experiences barring the legroom. I think most economy flights on airlines on this tier will be pretty similar experiences Edit: One thing I did notice on the BA route (Idk if you noticed this as well on Virgin) was the extremely strong smell of the food throughout the cabin. I was already slightly nauseous heading into the flight and genuinely had to cover my nose to sleep. Idk if this is a universal thing or
I think that the smell of the food depends on how close you’re seated to the galley and how much vapor escapes the ovens. Not sure. But the legroom in Virgin Atlantic is far greater vs the one I experienced at BA!
I flew for the first time by plane from Assam, the north-eastern state of India. I went to Kolkata in West Bengal by Indigo Airlines a320 neo. I was very scared while taking off and landing and the plane shakes a little while flying. I felt as if this plane was going to crash but no it did not. When the plane takes off and lands, it feels as if an earthquake has occurred on earth and This is the first time I have traveled by plane. I have never traveled by plane before.
We missed again to meet you at LHR. I am glad you flew to my motherland India and had a good experience. Do more videos for India pls.... I get you a big jar of Mango chutney when at LHR next time 😊
I wish I could do a meetup some time.. On layovers I am very hard working, resting or disconnecting. It’s a very busy life but I love it. tomorrow for example I fly to Kuala Lumpur, 7 hour sleep and straight to a meeting at 10 am after which I’ll go to Hong Kong, visit a friend and return to Dubai. tight but I’ll do my best to make a gap some day for all of you! thanks a lot for the continuous support and look forward to some of that chutney!! ❤️
VS looks like a pretty cool airline. Would love to try it out sometime along with the British Airways A330-300 to IAD 😉 Also, appreciate if you could review Air Canada from Heathrow to Mumbai or vice versa. They do that route only during winter schedule.
That is the hydraulic sound effect. The 787 use many electric system, many. One of the reasons why is efficient. If you are like me who's enjoy that sound definitely seat there! But if not you do better moving more up or more down. This is the main reasons why many people think the 787 is noisy, when by iself is not.
Does VS have dedicated Indian crew working these routes? A lot of European carriers have saree-clad female crew based at their Indian stations. Great video. Thanks.
Good question. I know BA has. On this flight there were some people who might have been or have South Asian background but I didn’t ask. So I don’t know, sorry!
Hello I can answer this. Being a VS Delhi based crew,we used to cover DEL-LHR-BOM till pre Covid . Currently we don’t have any Indian crew in Bom flights but we have just hired Indian crew for Bom base . So one can see them next year. Thank you @TheLayoverAviation for a wonderful review.

I love those cute salt and pepper gifts they gave ❤ I always preferred Vistara but should try Virgin Atlantic too. The food looks so yum ❤ Where is your next trip to ?
Out of all the airlines you have been flown... which airline is the best and which is the worst in your opinion. Best airline for me: Emirates, because they have best IFE and games Worst airline for me: IndiGo, I have flown with them and I DONT GET ENOUGH LEGROOM.
That is such a tough question.. I can’t answer just one, because it all depends on how your expectations and feelings are met on the day. But Emirates is in my top 5. So is Virgin Atlantic, Etihad, Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways. Amongst the worse yes, IndiGo.. I keep having nasty experiences with them although I appreciate that they give the general Indian public the chance to fly affordably. I generally dislike most Low Costs for having terrible customer service and attitude.
@@TheLayoverAviation Don't forget that it was the first airline for your cabin bag to be "TOO BIG". Same thing happened with my cabin bag just because of the "size" policy. (I watched the IndiGo A320neo video to Bengaluru)

Let me guess I bet you are a private pilot lol I my self am a huge major aviation geek ❤ aviation since I was 7 now I'm a flight attendant and travel all over for work and fun well wait have not done duabi on my bucket list. I'm fascinated with your videos inwiah you would talk on the videos. I hate reading lol keep up the awsome job joking us in your adventures
It’s a big passion of mine and I work close with the industry. And yes, a major avgeek too! Currently spending 5 days at the Dubai Airshow so having the time of my life!
I hope you get to visit Dubai soon, the UAE is the most pro-and loving-aviation country in the world.
Regarding the talking on the video’s, I’ve thought of it but find that it would block a lot of the interesting sounds outside. But I’ll plan to show my face in the future once the channel is bigger as now I have have exclusivity contracts..
Thanks again for the mice words, I wish you many happy flights and keep making people’s days. It’s a beautiful job what you do!
@TheLayoverAviation thank you so mich Alex maybe one day you will be on my flights ✈️ will give you that wonderful service that I learn when I flew for Pan Am and TWA
I just came across your channel yesterday. I love that you showed where all the aircraft came from and their destination. That's so cool. I also read about BA Dirty Tricks, it's enough for me to avoid flying with BA.
The tricks were done a very long time ago. It's water under the bridge and both of them are in a healthy competition I believe.
I would 100%fly virgin cheap affordable flying with them in March to Mumbai really excited if you do see this please reply
I see all messages!
Can't wait to fly with them in March also how was the food because I'm also going to India too
The best vlogs of aviation I have seen are on your channel. You are the best and my fav Avgeek kudos bbrother keep posting such amazing journeys :)
Thanks a lot for the very motivating comment! It is a lot of work but all worth it knowing that others enjoy it 😊.
Thanks again and have a lovely one, much more coming!
The 787 noise🥰🥰🥰
I agree! ❤️
Beautiful airline. I love the 787 hydraulics. They sound like a printer/copy machine 😂. ❤
That is a good description! Some old-school printer my father had at home. Thanks for watching Ryan!
Weerom een excellent verslag!!
Bedankt Patrick, leuk om je hier weer te zien!
The legspace is truly amazing😍
It’s insane! I didn’t expect it at all!
When will you fly vistara boein 787-9?
I hope to get the chance sometime soon. Let’s see. Very busy for now.

17:35 you can even see DXB airport down there
Beautiful flight review.
Thanks a lot my friend!
Wow! What an amazing experience it would've been travelling in this airline! Every part of this journey was a treat to watch!! I also noticed how you closed this trip with Marathi language :)
Yet again, I'd love to meet you if you're still in Mumbai.
It’s on my bucket list to try VA. Always heard good things about them.
They’re just a lot of fun, a company with a strong spirit.
I think most economy flights on airlines on this tier will be pretty similar experiences
Edit: One thing I did notice on the BA route (Idk if you noticed this as well on Virgin) was the extremely strong smell of the food throughout the cabin.
@@TheLayoverAviationI guess VA is an option the next time I'm flying to India then
PROUD TO BE A INDIAN
🇮🇳 😊
8:40 I didn't know british airways had an a330
It’s obviously a Virgin Atlantic aircraft, oops
is economy delight considered a different class (as in you have to pay extra for it) or can you book economy and get in economy delight?
Thanks Alex for showing many routes to my home city Mumbai ❤ I hope I will meet you someday
I might do a meetup some day! Thanks for writing 😃
When will you fly Virgin Atlantic to Dubai because I see it already flying to dubai in Flight Radar 24 so when will you fly it to dubai?
I flew for the first time by plane from Assam, the north-eastern state of India. I went to Kolkata in West Bengal by Indigo Airlines a320 neo. I was very scared while taking off and landing and the plane shakes a little while flying. I felt as if this plane was going to crash but no it did not. When the plane takes off and lands, it feels as if an earthquake has occurred on earth and This is the first time I have traveled by plane. I have never traveled by plane before.
im so happy u flew to mumbai ....... pls fly by uganda airlines to entebbe from mumbai.... love from mumbai tho :)
Uganda Airlines is on my list! Doing my best, but I have to go on my time off as I don’t really go for work there.
Love back from Dubai!
Jeez people are going to eat me alive for writing BA instead of Virgin Atlantic 😂
Do they fly that for real? I didn’t know.. I’ll give it a look!!
I have been on virgin atlantic to lahore Pakistan
7:09 does anyone know what that sound is I only hear it on the 787
That is the hydraulic sound effect. The 787 use many electric system, many. One of the reasons why is efficient. If you are like me who's enjoy that sound definitely seat there! But if not you do better moving more up or more down. This is the main reasons why many people think the 787 is noisy, when by iself is not.
@@sergiolaurencio7534 I really like the 787 and I like the many sounds it makes like this one thank you so much for explaining
I have to try virgin Atlantik airlines. Great report!
It’s a must!! Thanks!
Very welcome.@@TheLayoverAviation
How were the seats? They look like the slim seats which for me are uncomfortable 🙈
Well do you have any plans to visit kolkata from dubai with emiates....
which country are you flying to on which airline. The video you have posted was awesome.
November is full of exciting flights, including the Etihad A380 Business Class from the new terminal, Malysia Airines and Cathay Pacific 😊
awesome i am looking forward to see your exciting flights in November!@@TheLayoverAviation
Excellent as usual .I hope u will travel in the Air India A350 when they r in service.
I’m waiting for them to join the fleet and will book it as soon as I can!
@TheLayoverAviation I am happy just thinking abt the trip report u will make. All the best. I hear they will fly domestic route from December.
@@TheLayoverAviation@utpaln.baruah7851 answered my question. Thanks.
Can you try Air Canada on BOM-LHR? It's a seasonal flight and yes, one can fly from BOM-LHR solely without continuing to YYZ.
Lovely video Alex
Any plans to fly on Qantas Airways?
There are lots of hopes to fly Qantas, but Australia is so far away and I have almost no business ever taking me there. But the will is there, who knows?!
Bro fly Delhi amsterdam air india 27 October is last flight
I think it’s late, I live in Dubai..

I Love Virgin Atlantic
😂❤A Beautiful way to starrt the day.Awesome n Beautiful Trip Report. Thanks fir the smile on my face😂❤..
Lovely video as usual, always love your insightful comments. Just a small point but at 8:41 it's a VS330 and not BA :)
Loved it 😊
Glad you did!! Have a nice week 😊
I always will love hearing the noises of the 787
So funny!
cool, a video to Mumbai
And not the last one!
Nice vedio ❤❤❤
Thanks Sanjay!
I love those cute salt and pepper gifts they gave ❤
I always preferred Vistara but should try Virgin Atlantic too.
The food looks so yum ❤
Where is your next trip to ?
love the marathi in the end !
A small local touch 😊
Looks very nice ! Hope to take Virgin in the future.
You should, what a top airline. So much fun and a break from the serious ones I’ve been taking recently..
Really enjoy the journey
But when I see Marathi subs I had a huge smile on my face ☺️
Glad you got a smile after the video! 😉
Thanks a lot for watching my friend, more coming up!
Wow right now I am sitting in the flight Lhr-Bom my home Mumbai
I hope you enjoyed the ride! 😊
Out of all the airlines you have been flown... which airline is the best and which is the worst in your opinion.
Best airline for me: Emirates, because they have best IFE and games
Worst airline for me: IndiGo, I have flown with them and I DONT GET ENOUGH LEGROOM.
I have flown virgin Atlantic from London to Delhi premium economy in vs 302
Aloo Gobi! I remember that food from, and I'm showing my age here, the movie Bend it Like Beckham (!!)
What's the name of the intro music song? I simply love it. Very lounge feel. Excellent video as always ❤
Hi Alex, thanks for a great VA trip report. I hope you would travel once in the Upper class and will share it
I would love that, but not on such empty flight as that would be a waste of money 😆
I’ll try some day!
The aircraft looks quite empty considering you said that there is high demand on this route.
Also 14:30 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’m an expert at finding empty flights, it’s not a coincidence 😃
I don’t really like full flights. And flights are not always full, it’s hard to have 100% loads each day. It also depends on political situations.
I went to Beirut yesterday with only 30 people on a B777-300ER!
@@TheLayoverAviation 30 people on 777 😲😲😲
Lucky you.
Nicely done!
Thanks a lot my friend!
Five star coverage
5 star viewers!
This siren is normal in heavy engined planes I think.
If you ever get the opportunity you should try Virgin Australia! They also mirror some of that spectacular and friendly culture and service! And in Australia, they’re much better to fly than Qantas
Thanks for the info, I never really tried them. Too bad they’re not flying the B777’s any longer.
I’ll try to give them a try whenever I head to Australia. I hope it is in the near future.
Thanks for watching!
