Detail you missed: When jumping into the "vat of plasma," Rick and Morty's poses are NOT _exactly_ the same as when they jumped into the vat of acid. In the earlier episode, Rick is grasping Morty by the front of his shirt, dragging him along. In this episode, they are holding hands, which might signify a more equal standing in their relationship.

I think the Martians missing an arm and the neptunians missing one breast is because they also had to cut off a body part, just like the sun knights. And now you'd be right to ask, why aren't the other cultures missing something, but you don't see that the sun guys are missing theirs, either. It might be a toe or something for the others
The cultures that only cut off a toe are kinda lame ngl
The ending with Morty getting caught by the squire and convincing him to keep quiet is also a commentary on how people are ready to rock the boat and fly in the face of tradition until it inconveniences them.

I'm starting to believe that all Mortys (Morties?) are destined to become a leader in their world/time-line.
The whole episode I was going, "Is that David Mitchell?" And it was. That and Robert Webb were very surprising for me, wasn't even aware Americans were aware of them.
I don't really watch british shows with high production values, but I find the panel shows very fun. Would I Lie To You is my favorite one.
These days that, "Are we the baddies?" meme is pretty ubiquitous, but their shows have been on and off of Netflix for years. I think I found them first via QI back in the initial series.

Fun fact: the actor from the Weird Al movie was in a series of lesser known films as a child actor, where there were also wizards and castles. Anyway, I can’t remember the name of the series but they were pretty cool.
The meeting of planet people is similar to the scene in pirates of the carribeans where pirates decide whos going to be the pirate king.

We have seen Santa in Rick and Morty before back in Morty's Mind Blowers. There was a scene where we see Morty burying him out in the dessert.
Ok but my first and only thought is how did they actually pull off the Vat of Acid gimmick ON THE SUN? Morty speaks on the concept but how it worked idk
I loved all of the call backs in this episode especially the vat of acid ones.

I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop this whole episode I thought for sure Rick had something planned. Now I’m thinking that Morty will die in the next episode it seems like something Rick and Morty would do were right when Rick starts cherishing Morty and the time they spend together that’s when the universe rips him away from Rick just like Rick knew it would this whole time. Maybe he’s even murdered by the Rick from the first episode

1:36 also reminiscent of the Standard Galactic Alphabet used in Commander Keen!! Actually, some of the letters match up to both alphabets.
I think that Rick not knowing about the inhabitants of the other planets can work. In the series, Rick and Morty have had to dimension hop three (or is it four) times. And Rick has exclaimed that each dimension is slightly different. So they may have just happened to come across one where all of the planets of the solar system are inhabited by humanoids, and Pluto is not inhabited by aliens.
Or maybe the writers were having some fun and lost track of the cannon. Its Rick and Morty. Who can keep it all straight?
Am I the only nerd that noticed the whole meeting representing each planet was a play on when the pirate lords meet in the 3rd Pirates of the Caribbean?
1:31 The language actually appears to be a mashup of some sorts. The first word is written in the Standard Galactic Alphabet(Minecraft Enchantment Table) and translates to "Comet". The second word isn't in SGA and I couldn't find what it is in

My skepticism of Ricks still thinks that this was a way to rub a "told ya" in morty's face, giving the result of last week's jerry fiasco. Sh1t will follow thru if Rick isn't on board, but hey... one last morty adventure on the punch card

I figured that them cutting off their memebers was more like the Castrato. When Catholics would cut off a mans testicles before puberty to allow them to keep to the vow of celibacy while also keeping them attractive to their superiors. Also, they could sing at a higher scale.

It doesn't, but that is a common mistake which led to the whole belief that they cut a breast off in the first place, when nothing in the mythology ever mentions this. "Amazon" is from the Ionic form of an Iranian term, "ha-amazon," meaning "fighting together." In Greek, the h was silent.
