It’s a cover of the Simon and Garfunkel song from the 60s. Paul Simon said it was the best cover of the song he’d heard. The original was a warning for society and this one was like anger that the warning wasn’t heeded. David draymen (singer) actually had a head cold during the recording so wasn’t up to his usual best. But disturbed are normally a very heavy metal band. So this song is a bit of a departure from their normal stuff.
Disturbed Has another song That's Worth Checking Out. ( Hold on to Memories ), It was Just Played at my little sister's Funeral. It was Both our Favorite Songs. This song will be Played for Me When it's My Time. 🥰 ✌
So true! This was one of the oddest reactions to this masterpiece, and I've watched/listened to at least 30 of them. The absolute 'top' was when one of the reactors couldn’t remember the name of the song and asked the other for help (there were two men reacting together in one video).
CV! Disturbed is a heavy metal band. It is surprising to hear that pure voice coming out of David Draiman who is known for his screaming growling vocals. I'm not a metal head but it did lead it me to hear and appreciate more of their songs. Thanks for that one. If you listen again go for the official MV.
@@Darkmoonlight0425Thanks, that's good to hear. I should listen to more. I've only heard a few of their songs and am not qualified to make some of the comments that come rolling out. I loved the Bad Man song and clip. Happy to take on board any recommendations.
@marklane58 Prayer, The Night and Serpentine showcase some great vocals. They also do covers of Land Of Confusion and If I Ever Lose My Faith In You. I hope you can enjoy some of them, they are by far my favorite band.
@@Darkmoonlight0425 Well that was a journey. I'm not such a fan of that 'type' of music (more of a Stan Walker style fan - particularly "I Am" (official video) and "Don't Dream It's Over") However of all the Disturbed original songs I like Bad Man best, and what a clip! Love it. I must add that I completely support the general sentiment expressed in their lyrics. Thanks again for your help. PS: I've also become strangely attracted to Sleep Token's "Take Me Back To Eden".
This is a cover from a 'Simon and Garfunkel' and ive only just heard it, and its blown me away! Another great S&G song is "Bridge over Troubled Water" You wont be disappointed
Besides listening to the Simon & Garfunkel version (the original), you should also listen to the version by Pentatonix. All 3 are fantastic in their own ways.
The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel is sad resignation. A plea. The Sound of Silence by Disturbed is Dammit, LISTEN! *** The Warning *** "And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made." ~ Paul Simon "And the people bowed and prayed, to the golden calf they made." ~ Old Testament

And to think he was sick with a 100°+ fever when singing this.. the flu i think it was.

You should at least get some history on the band you reacting to and the cover song and its message. In my humble opinion...

One of the greatest covers EVER!
Paul Simon stayed l the meaning of the song is as follows
this is a song about the inability of people to communicate with each oth
Yep! 👍
BRO Other than this one "Down With The Sickness" is my very favorite!!
Seriously. You have no poetry in your soul.
I have never heard a cover of any song that I love as much as this one!!

If you listen to their other songs his vocals are not too big a surprise. David can go from angelic to screaming and back again seamlessly.

Respectfully, I think you overthought the lyrics. Just sit back and admire David Draiman's outstanding vocal performance.
Look up the lyrics
You are too young to understand the lyrics. Do some research.

watch the official music video, and with captions, it helps you understand the deep meaning

I love this version. David Draymen is AMAZING. Another amazing version is Dan Vasc's cover of this.
Simon and garfunkle wrote and sang this song in the 1960s
Please listen to Simon& Garfunkel song it. Way more better.
Listen to pentatonix version of this song
Are you familiar with the word 'metaphor'?
Thanks for your reaction❤❤❤, if you want you should see the original video of The Sound of Silence by Disturbed. This video has 1 billion views ❤❤❤
👍👍An awesome performance and a great cover. One of my favorites. The MV is also a must see. 🖖❤
