It’s a cover of the Simon and Garfunkel song from the 60s. Paul Simon said it was the best cover of the song he’d heard. The original was a warning for society and this one was like anger that the warning wasn’t heeded. David draymen (singer) actually had a head cold during the recording so wasn’t up to his usual best. But disturbed are normally a very heavy metal band. So this song is a bit of a departure from their normal stuff.
So true! This was one of the oddest reactions to this masterpiece, and I've watched/listened to at least 30 of them. The absolute 'top' was when one of the reactors couldn’t remember the name of the song and asked the other for help (there were two men reacting together in one video).
CV! Disturbed is a heavy metal band. It is surprising to hear that pure voice coming out of David Draiman who is known for his screaming growling vocals. I'm not a metal head but it did lead it me to hear and appreciate more of their songs. Thanks for that one. If you listen again go for the official MV.
@@Darkmoonlight0425Thanks, that's good to hear. I should listen to more. I've only heard a few of their songs and am not qualified to make some of the comments that come rolling out. I loved the Bad Man song and clip. Happy to take on board any recommendations.
@marklane58 Prayer, The Night and Serpentine showcase some great vocals. They also do covers of Land Of Confusion and If I Ever Lose My Faith In You. I hope you can enjoy some of them, they are by far my favorite band.
@@Darkmoonlight0425 Well that was a journey. I'm not such a fan of that 'type' of music (more of a Stan Walker style fan - particularly "I Am" (official video) and "Don't Dream It's Over") However of all the Disturbed original songs I like Bad Man best, and what a clip! Love it. I must add that I completely support the general sentiment expressed in their lyrics. Thanks again for your help. PS: I've also become strangely attracted to Sleep Token's "Take Me Back To Eden".
On every reaction video I have seen of this performance, and I have seen dozens, there is always someone saying David Draiman was sick with the flu and had a 100° temperature! I have no idea how that rumor started. Especially since there are interviews where he explains he had a painful lesion on his vocal cord. He was disappointed in his performance because of that. He had nothing to be disappointed about. It was a stunning performance!!
Such an awesome cover! I wish you could have done the official instead of this, but this was an important take. Studio version was so good, people said he wouldn't be able to do it live, so he did here.
The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel is sad resignation. A plea. The Sound of Silence by Disturbed is Dammit, LISTEN! *** The Warning *** "And the people bowed and prayed, to the neon god they made." ~ Paul Simon "And the people bowed and prayed, to the golden calf they made." ~ Old Testament
This is a cover from a 'Simon and Garfunkel' and ive only just heard it, and its blown me away! Another great S&G song is "Bridge over Troubled Water" You wont be disappointed
This is one of those songs that if you’ve never heard it you have to listen to it a few times to understand the meaning. It’s so deep. I love the original but I have to say I prefer the Disturbed cover. It hits hard
Besides listening to the Simon & Garfunkel version (the original), you should also listen to the version by Pentatonix. All 3 are fantastic in their own ways.
Disturbed Has another song That's Worth Checking Out. ( Hold on to Memories ), It was Just Played at my little sister's Funeral. It was Both our Favorite Songs. This song will be Played for Me When it's My Time. 🥰 ✌
Talking without speaking = We see it all the time, people never actually saying anything meaningful Hearing without listening = same thing, people constantly giving no heed to what is being said around them.
I have never heard a cover of any song that I love as much as this one!!
One of the greatest covers EVER!
My favourite version of this song

Somebody corrected me on that, now I can't help hearing it.
Not anger. ANGUISH!
You should at least get some history on the band you reacting to and the cover song and its message. In my humble opinion...

I 1,000% agree.

If you listen to their other songs his vocals are not too big a surprise. David can go from angelic to screaming and back again seamlessly.

He had a fever due to the lesion ...I think people hear "fever" and assume flu?
@ yeah maybe so.
Paul Simon stayed l the meaning of the song is as follows
this is a song about the inability of people to communicate with each oth
Yep! 👍
If you watch the music video you will have a very powerful experience
Simon and garfunkle wrote and sang this song in the 1960s

BRO Other than this one "Down With The Sickness" is my very favorite!!

Respectfully, I think you overthought the lyrics. Just sit back and admire David Draiman's outstanding vocal performance.

And to think he was sick with a 100°+ fever when singing this.. the flu i think it was.
Personally, I do like this one better than the original , the one by Pentatonix is also good
Wonderful

Seriously. You have no poetry in your soul.

👍👍An awesome performance and a great cover. One of my favorites. The MV is also a must see. 🖖❤
watch the official music video, and with captions, it helps you understand the deep meaning
I guess you never heard the original
never
If you've ever heard true silence it's deafening. It's actually very loud
Glad you came out from under that rock 🪨
To the Orangea god that made ;!!!🧑🌾🧑🌾🧑🌾🎃🎃🎃
I love this version. David Draymen is AMAZING. Another amazing version is Dan Vasc's cover of this.
Look the lyrics up. You misheatd a lot.
Are you familiar with the word 'metaphor'?
What is the sound of one hand clapping?
Look up the lyrics
Way overthinking it lol
Yep.
Some lucky duck hasn’t copped the ‘silent treatment’ 😂
Louder than screams….
Agreeing with other commenters: Watch the actual music video. It will amaze you. Please react to that on your channel

Listen to pentatonix version of this song
Dude🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ amazing🎉🎉
🥳
You are too young to understand the lyrics. Do some research.
Guess I won’t subscribe here.
Please listen to Simon& Garfunkel song it. Way more better.
