  • Making a Christmas Wreath Out of a Coat Hanger and Tree Branches. Using cedar and pine branches, floral wire, ribbon and a coat hanger. This video shows how to make a door wreath with decorations using very few supplies.
To begin a wreath what you need is a clothes hanger like this. You make it into a circle. You take some floral wire and wrap it around. And when you are down to one end that isn't attached to your spool of wire. We have white pine, cedar and spruce. We are going to make a wreath here. We make a loop and add some floral wire and a wire cutter and an actual pruner itself. And we will also take some ribbon too. Basically you grab bunches of greenery and mix it up again to add some interest and put it on about where you wrapped your last batch. You wrap it nice and tightly and proceed all the way around the entire wreath.
Wrap them, pull them how you wish, however you want to lay them. Try to mix them up so you have white pine here and other kinds on the other side. We try to keep the bunches nice and tight so that there isn't a real disaster. It's super easy. Anyone can do it. Try to use some of the ends. You can use bits and prune it off to the next area where there are some branches out.
As long as a tree is an evergreen and still green, anything with interest to it. I want it green and lush looking. If you wanted a red wreath, you could use red plants. This is just my personal preference. Make sure it is nice and very generous. This is the base. You want to have a solid base.
It looks like a thousand decisions need to be made. Every bit of branch has its own personality. I guess you just optimize what you have to make the Christmas wreath.
    Jokes in the video:
Does the cedar wreath look sad?
It might need to be spruced up!
Why do you get sad making wreathes?
    They make me sappy!
It's nice to make these evergreen wreaths, but maybe we need to BRANCH out to other varieties!
It's a lot of work. If someone says they are making you a wreath you are either very high up on their list or you should be very concerned because this is a lot of work. This doesn't happen by accident!
At the end you tie a bow.

I love that but I live in Vegas so it’s hard to find pretty trees like that here. I guess I could try what we have around here.. which isn’t much🤣

Thanks for watching! Sorry about that, I hadn't thought of that. Hope you find something, I know people who make them out of roots and vines and no greenery and still look cool. Have a great day!

Hi, does it have to be floral wire? Do you think I can substitute with kitchen twine?
