- HALO INFINITE - Master Chief Remembers The Dead (Captain Keyes and Cortana) Flashbacks Cutscene Scene Campaign Story Mode
As Master Chief turns in power seeds, more data clusters show depictions of interactions Master Chief had with now deceased characters from previous Halo games, such as his first interaction with Captain Keyes on the Pillar of Autumn and receiving Cortana, the end of Halo CE, and his goodbye to Cortana in Halo 4.

I was half expecting to hear johnsons voice saying "don't let her go, don't EVER let her go" at times.
That would have fit so well, maybe someone will make a “refined halo infinite” mod where in those holoprojections Chief is wearing the correct armor from which game those scenes are from
@@robertogonzalez1907
Master Chief: 1:54
*Yes*
@@robertogonzalez1907also hopefully with the correct voice acting (just pull it straight from the games)
“Captain Jacob Keyes,” was said so proudly. You know John held him in high regards
Literally sounded just like an old veteran remembering a lost friend, Steve Downes killed that delivery
Was kind of hoping for more cameos (Johnson, Miranda, The Arbiter, etc.), but these definitely hit that emotional sweet spot.
I wanted Johnson to tell me "folks need heros chef" for emotional support
What about dustin echos
@@UberMxC nah he needs to say "crazy fool. one of these days, you're gonna land on something as stubborn as you"
However, the Arbiter is still alive and other old characters like Marcus Stacker and Chips Dubbo are also still alive and because of that, I really hope these guys return in Halo Infinite at some point.
I'm glad this game remembered Dustin Echoes. A good marine, gone too soon.
Dustin was a hero
He's probably still alive, we just don't know where he is right now.
@@BrianLyons315He’s obviously hiding in a cave.
Everytime I hear captain Keyes voice, I get chills.
Me too
These scenes really shows how *old* Chief has gotten.
Funny thing is that when you account for the time Master Chief has been in cyrosleep between Halo 3 and 4, Master Chief probably had all of those memories happen within a year, (within his mind).
Halo 1 - 3 only took place within a few months, and 4 - Infinite was probably a year apart
Jeez man these hit hard. Chief is becoming more and more human
Sad thinking we could eventually see chief killed :(
Honestly hearing this part in infinite made me get goose bumps and also get a little sad. Seeing chief remember keys and all the men lost on 04 reminds me of like a veteran telling war stories to kids it hurts to talk about as whoever wasn’t there won’t understand what they went through I could only imagine the flashbacks and memories coming back to him of 04 and his battle there.
And from a lore standpoint, the UNSC has lost even more on 07(zeta halo's number) considering the most likely damaging on destruction of the infinity and absolute destruction of its escort fleet. So needless to say chief probably loathes these rings at this point.
Dang we could have got a callback to the OG Chief armor.
That would've been sick.
Yea I don’t get why it showed Chief in his current armor when the flashback to CE after destroying the first ring showed up.
@@spidermayne4193Now that the CE Mark V suit is a kit, they could implement that as a stand-in. Same with the Mark VI (MOD) in Halo 4, since it's a Forge model.
Cut corners in development.
i like how john didnt say how keyes died, just shows the events of the mission "keyes" still haunts him maybe i dunno
With the CE armor actually being in the game now, I hope they think about doing a small update and have MC wear it in the CE flashback
Absolutely
I admit, it brought a tear to my eye when I heard Captain Keyes’ voice and watching all the flashbacks to the OG game. The writers did an amazing job showing how all the events from the beginning still haunt Chief to this day. He’s been through so much.
Chief did not want to tell the Weapon how Keyes died, what Chief went through and the pain and suffering that the people he tried to protect really hit hard.
I ugly cried when I heard Keyes voice, ngl.
You will cry more knowing that they got sergeant stacker again just to voice this line again for infinite instead of recycling it
When Keyes says earth & goodluck Master Chief. It sounds like him when he was being tormented by the grave mind..
same! Halo CE was like the first game that I really loved when I was little, this hit the feels hard
“He’s gone.” The Flood traumatized even John.
The flood was the single scariest thing in his whole career bar none.
I like how his face isn't even visible, but even if you had the video muted you could tell that's Keyes just by the way he's standing.
It's nice to know that inside his head, Chief is still canonically keeping the memory of those he's served with(and lost) alive.
It's never "just another marine" or "just another officer" to him - every person you lose effects Chief in some way, some more than others.
It seems the death of Keyes ranks up there with the loss of Sam-034 in Chief's head, perhaps because it was so avoidable with hindsight.
Nah bro these make me wanna cry so bad 😭😭
Ikr the nostalgia and memories just imagine the flashbacks and memories chief is getting hed probably be like damn that was 8 years ago
Halo ce
Halo reach
Halo infinite
Keys makes an appearance once every 10 years or so lol
John really held great admiration and respect for
Keyes, you can really hear it in his voice.
New Cortana: "What happened to him? [Keyes]"
Chief: "I...punched a whole straight through his head...wasn't pretty."
I like how cortana has her original purple design
This whole thing is one huge nostalgia trip
Weapon: you blame yourself
Chief: yes
For a genetically engineered super soldier the guy is really hard on himself
This shit hit home when I ran into these..
this game had so much potential story wise :(
Johnson should’ve been in this. That’s a sad ending to a character
My huge question is for 0:47 & 1:24
Shouldn't these flashback holograms of Chief be wearing the respective armors?
Yeah but lazy
@@SomeD00D01 Or because how little time they had, they didn’t want to build all the suits from the respective games in a new engine, all for a 30 second scene.
@@sharpie3811 6 years is no little time lol
@@gabogaberiuxs It’s not, but 343 didn’t even know what they wanted the game to be until E3 2019, when they finally revealed the opening of the game. A 343 described development before then as “multiple people creating 8 different games at once”. Game models were slapped together, then abandoned as direction of the game kept shifting. That’s why there’s so much cut content in the game. To make matters worse, the game engine they were using for Halo Infinite is much better graphically than the old engine, but it’s notoriously hard to work with, the content droit being a direct result of that.
Microsoft also has a weird policy of contractors being assigned for the game only having 9 months before they’re switched out and replaced, so imagine it takes you 3 months to learn how the engine works. That’s at most 6 months of development time for one person, maybe even less because you need to figure out what the hell the last contractor was working on. This is why it was delayed one year. Not enough time to overhaul the game, but enough time to finish and make it a final product.
Even though this is one of my favorite Halo games, and it’s a miracle that the game came out as good as it is, I can’t ignore the direct problems this game has. There’s a massive content drought at the moment, there’s not much to do in the open world, and the campaign ends on a cliffhanger, probably as a result of development, just like Halo 2. But I can tell that even with all this, the people who were working on the game loved Halo and tried their best.
If this is too long, just know that Halo Infinite had a lot of development kinks.
LOST ALOT OF GOOD PEOPLE ?THEY WERE THE MOST MARINE BADASSES IN THE CORP!
Ooohh raaa
While this scene hits an emotional sweet spot it really doesn't make sense visually, canonically speaking. When Cortana says "...just dust and echoes." Chief is wearing the same armor from Infinite when in halo 2 he equips the MK6 at the intro.
It also kinda sucks that in the halo 4 flashback Chief is also wearing the same armor from the Halo:CE flashback. This also doesn't make sense and even means 343 is retconning the halo 4-5 mjolnir design instead of owning it and making the infinite armor an off screen armor swap.
Cool that in the Halo 4 memory hes in the new armor but not cool that he is in the Halo CE Dustin Echoes memory 😤
Rip I miss him
Shame we didn’t get to see MK V again.
keys aint just gone hewas first consumed and tortured by the flood evidently has a gooner the day he got captured by the flood ;(
Look read Wright vantage point collage king now come own rewards
Halo have a good campaign but a bad multiplayer because of shitty management i thank Joe to have delayed the game it at least saved the campaign
Man Wtf happened to Halo cutscenes man Anniversary has one of the best looking cutscenes in gaming history and now it's just chief staring at holograms
It’s not a cutscene…
I don't think you know what cutscenes are
I hate how they used infinite armour for the flashbacks just didn’t make sense
