    Can't express how grateful I am to Professors who upload such in-depth lecture videos! I am an Audio-visual learner who likes to listen to lectures at their own pace - sometimes x1.5, sometimes x2, and when profs don't provide lecture videos beyond 3-hour in-person lessons, life becomes so tricky T_T. Thank you so much!!

    By far the best and most thorough explanation of the model. I've watched 2 other videos on the subject and none of them compare.

    • @fabiangauthier5617
      @fabiangauthier5617 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Actually he is wearing his wedding ring on the right hand, I know this is true for orthodox church, but since he is working at cleveland and that they represent less than a 1% of the christians, we could assume he is actually catholic, therefore it would mean he simply reversed the recording so that we could read it normally :)

    • @km4l317
      @km4l317 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fabiangauthier5617 so then we should assume he is left handed, since the hand with the ring is left. Therefore he is one of the 10% of the left handers in the world.

    • @hurmaes
      @hurmaes 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fabiangauthier5617 what do you mean by reversing the recording? How would the logistics work out? Where is the camera facing? lol sorry for the questions my caffeinated all-nighter brain is hyper.

    • @ploted45
      @ploted45 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hurmaes I mean that what you see as his left hand is actually right right one. The camera is facing the transparent glass, he is behind it writing. But since it would be a headache to write backwards, he flipped the recording of his video horizontally. It's as if you look in a mirror.

    • @nishantsingh5385
      @nishantsingh5385 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After recording the video it was inverted so that we see it correctly. Otherwise we see mirror image of letters rather than words.

    Finally, for part 3's numerical example in the lecture, are you placing WL and RK as a sum of total labour and capital expenditure respectively, deducted from the total sales revenue generated for both shoes and computers respectively?

  • @UKiy88
    @UKiy88 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Still unclear on the release of labour using the numerical example. If we release four workers from the shoe sector, one will be hired in the computer sector. On the other hand, four units of capital will move from shoe to computer sector. But this maintains the same ratio of labour to capital, and doesn't explain the shift along the L/K axis.
    Any help?

  • @aneeshssundaram1675
    @aneeshssundaram1675 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Professor, in part 3 of the lecture, Rckc represents the payments to capital ratio right? Also in the percentage change formula in rental rate for shoe production, why is it PsQc instead of PsQs?

  • @aneeshssundaram1675
    @aneeshssundaram1675 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Professor, in part 2 of this lecture, what does the L_/ K_ represent? Is it the equilibrium wage to rental ratio between the labour to cost ratios of shoes and computers?

      I would say "International Trade" by Feenstra and Taylor. They do use an example with shoes and computer for HO model.
      Otherwise it can be (didn't check, perhaps they also use shoes and computer, I noticed a lack of imaginations in eco textbook)
      Krugman, Obstfeld and Melitz, International economics : theory and policy,
      Caves, Frankel and Jones, World Trade and Payments: An Introduction
