I can say this with a conviction that this one hour lecture is far more interesting and knowledgeable than what today's so-called million subscribers' TH-cam channels have on their whole content. In his language, it's a predictable surprise that this video lacks the views and more and more bubbles are still being created today.

I have read his book -VALUE INVESTING AND BEHAVIORAL FINANCE which is one of the best book on investing on Indian stock market . Although this video he is covering the sentiments/behavior in investing. One should also go through his or any good books on qualitative analysis which is also important as one said that "Stock prices are slaves of earnings growth in the long run!!!"I like his simple and very informative video!!!.Very few people are there in investing world who give /share priceless knowledge!!!.

Nothing works without setting any goal, as goal drives precise actions. I buy stocks with goal of thinking how much reasonable return I m expecting (beat inflation and keep value of money intact) from specific stock and within what timeframe. This techniques worked very well in last 12 years. Mr. Parikh established a great fund house, very focused with great return and a great soul indeed!

Nice presentation. Without proper training it's very difficult to make money in the market. People who are entering markets must start watching any of the business channels (like CNBC, NDTV profit etc), follow share markets regularly, read atleast one business newspapers (like Economic Times,Business Line etc). Visit websites like moneycontrol regularly which give you info. about various investment related matters. Formal training from institutes (like Kredent Academy) can help greatly.

Better than watching channels n reading news papers, i personally feel 1 should have sound understanding of how economic changes r going round us n judge by wisdom. We should look with great care at financial statements of firm n should be able to access their future as regards current situations

Mr.Parikh, regarding the effects of oil prices on the stock market, you really cant expect a liner relation because of the many factors in play here. Oil from 100-130 has a direct effect on profitability of the companies while oil from 30-100, is not hard on the company's expenses, but the lower price makes it harder on the investors who profit from oil. That seems to be the situation right now, with the gulf countries taking desperate steps to mitigate the effects of low crude price and selling foreign assets for required cash.

two reasons, 1. you incur costs (up to 20% with some brokerages), and secondly, by far the most important, if you purchase an exceptional company, with an enduring competitive advantage and able/trustworthy managers, the long term capital gains far exceeds any short term profits, due to the inherent absence of brokerage costs, capital gains taxes etc. Read Benjamin Graham's The Intelligent investor.
