Those channels you mention are the lucky ones that somehow made it, learning the skills on the job. If some of the unsuccessful attempts had had a college degree in that field, they undoubtedly would’ve been more successful.
Begleri is actually a pretty fun little thing to learn. I discovered it in highschool (nearly 10 years ago) and found an Etsy shop that made custom ones. Got one to match my hand size (yes that's a thing) and I've enjoyed it ever since!
