🍂as an introvert foster parent to an extrovert I really appreciate this! I never want to say "don't sing or practice your noise impressions" but sometimes ask they play outside for a few minutes (sorry neighbors, noises continue outside 😂) or lowering their volume. It's hard navigating many visits and even one sport with just a weekday practice and weekend game. I have noticed they are starting to ask for quiet/home time more often recently. I am glad they are comfortable and expressing their needs. Controversial, but I kind of look forward to winter days when we can't go out and stay home watching movies lol
I will take a quite time. I will read my daughter a book or do some other activity to fill her up and then go to my room and sew or knit. Or I will go outside. Even just ten minutes outside helps so much! Also fall is my favorite season :)
@@jessicaolson717 such a great idea to intentionally spend time with her before you take some time to yourself. That probably makes her look forward to that time as well because she gets your undivided attention beforehand :)
Yes awesome idea! I notice if i play white my kids with my whole focus for even a short time, they are happy to play alone or with each other for a long time after with no fights
4:48 any time this mama needs to quiet the calm we put on Harry Potter audiobooks or soundtracks! Everyone calms right down to listen and we love to all listen together while working on our own things (cooking/crafting/puzzling)❤
6:52 ahhh!!❤❤❤❤ as soon as you said “silent to do list” I thought of Dawn (minimal mom!). Her and Cass from clutterbug and Dana k white have changed our lives to the point that NOW WE AM ABLE TO START OUR FOSTER LICENSING! Seriously. I actually have the mental capacity now that my house is under control (and my bio kiddos are a bit older) ❤
Adoption mom here! 😊💙10💜9, and bio twins 💙💙7! We keep our home minimal and spend the mogority of our time at home. 🥰 my favorite season is Summer! We live in the east!
@@brandigroth7226 I’m so glad to hear that! I have some older videos sharing the highs and lows of our first few months with a sibling placement…you might find those relatable!
I don’t have kids myself, but I have to say that you sound like a great mom. I completely agree about not putting kids in a million different activities… I’m on the autism spectrum and would get incredibly overstimulated when I was young, to the point I would actually go to my mom and tell her I wanted to cut down on activities! lol I’m now embracing the quiet life as an adult, and wow, has it improved my mental health. There is so much pressure to be busy nowadays, whether you have kids or not. It’s just not sustainable. 👻
