- Today we are reviewing the brand new 2017 Jeep Patriot. We were given a rental car for a couple of weeks in place of one of Tate's parents cars, and decided to take it out for a review!
More big plans for the channel coming up... we have cars lined up for reviews, so we will be trying to get those done as soon as possible!

You turn off traction control because on really slick roads or many off road conditions the TC will keep drive wheels from turning adequately, you end up going nowhere. There are times when giving it gas and wheelspin are necessary to continue moving or getting free.
I purchased a 2017 jeep patriot 4x4 high altitude and I love mine the only down side is the small fuel tank but for the money you can't go wrong .

I bought mine in 2014 (new)...love it still! Oddly enough though...the 2017 model is EXACTLY the SAME as mine! NO changes? Wow...
John Lederer how's it going for you and did you get the 4×4 or the one with the cvt transmission?
Traction control is there in case you need to spin tires and yeah it's quite that's the point for a four cylinder and really with the music and the hood isn't that hard to open and I don't know how old you are but I'm 13 I'm pretty sure I'm younger than you and I know this just when I was with my mom buying the car and it's fun to drive I did take a spin in a parking lot and it's fun also don't be surprised when it has a base radio compared to a touch screen it's a latitude not that big of a deal
Thanks for the comment! Don't worry, we know why traction control is there and we get the point of an economy car. When you're older and you have driven more cars you will quickly realize that this isn't a fun car to drive: it's front wheel drive and the engine is down tuned significantly to get better mileage and make it more comfortable and easygoing.

THE ONLY GOOD THING TO SAY ABOUT THIS CAR IS IT GETS GOOD MILEAGE. THE DRIVERS AREA WAS MADE FOR A 5 FOOT 6 INCH (MAX) SHORT LEGGED PERSON. I AM 6 FOOT TALL AND MY HEAD TOUCHED THE TOP OF THE COCKPIT. THE CONTROLS ARE NOT INTUITIVE. I RENTED THIS CAR AND DROVE IT 25 FREEWAY MILES BEFORE I REALIZED IT WAS IN 2ND GEAR. IN ORDER TO USE THE SEAT BELT YOU MUST RAISE THE TOP OF THE CENTER CONSOLE. OK, SO THE AIR CONDITIONING WORKS GOOD IN WASHINGTON STATE. IT IS PROBABLY A OK CAR FOR MUNCHKINS. WHEN CHRYSLER BOUGHT "JEEP" THAT WAS THE END.

HEY Tate! I liked your review on the Patriot! I want to agree, but can't. I currently own a 2016 Patriot (bought it brand new) and it hasn't given me nothing but headaches. YES, IT WILL get you from POINT A to POINT B with the following caption "DRIVING HAZARD COMING THRU". It may be that I got the BAD batch--NO HILL START ASSIST (HSA) which is a standard feature and quite a necessity (not a luxury feature) in my hometown (San Francisco, CA), 3 engine stalls (2 in the highway, 1 on the street), 3 failed brakes (downhill), etc. Plus, when you go to the Jeep service center to get it fixed (under warranty, after all it IS NEW), the service center will treat you like CRAP (WORST customer service EVER!); NO LOANER while your vehicle is in the "car hospital"--NEED A CAR WHILE YOUR CAR IS BEING FIXED (NOT YOUR FAULT, UNDER WARRANTY)? WELL PREP YOURSELF TO FORKING OUT A RENTAL CAR OUT OF POCKET. WHY did I ever engage in getting this piece of scrap metal, you may ask? I WANTED TO KEEP MY BUSINESS WITH MY BELOVED COUNTRY--MADE IN AMERICA! FYI, I used to drive a MINI (BRITISH NAME, GERMAN BUILT); Should have stuck with the European imports! UGH!
Nothing against my country (USA), just the ppl who have been hired to make our things may be the issue.
Traeton here, yeah it's not a great car and we weren't really able to go into long term reliability or anything- American cars definitely suffer there; in this segment I'd much rather have a Kia Sportage or for a bit more money a Mercedes GLA. Thanks for watching!
