There is no argument. Hands down. Rolling Stone Magazine got it right when on the list of the greatest 200 singers of all time, Aretha was number one.
At the end of her interview with the Queen, Terry Gross of NPR public radio said that Aretha Franklin was definitely the greatest singer of her time and possibly the greatest singer of all time.
Long live the Queen.

This live concert brought together people of various (races) and socioeconomic backgrounds. It was truly phenomenal as well as history making.
Aretha was in her element; the church. Not just any church, but the black church where she honed her craft. But I must pay homage to those playing tambourines.
This was filmed at a Baptist church. Baptist churches don't do tambourines much and when they do, its a completely different sound from COGIC.
The Tambourine players were definitely COGIC. representing
This reminded me at my church fellowship Baptist Church in Chicago with the late Reverend Clay Evans back in the day

@@missypeggs1105 of course not. If he did, I would think the ONLY reason he'd say that, is although it was a Live recording, it's business as well. And in the "entertainment" (music) industry, "time is money". Which I honestly don't believe him telling her to sit down, was the case .
