J'ai 63 ans j'ai eu la chance de le voir 3 fois 1972 1975 1976 mais plus grand souvenirs. Elvis est toujours mon idole absolut et gare à celui qui me dit des trucs qui ne me plaise pas je protège ça mémoire. Elvis presley éternel et intemporels pour des siecles.

This was when Elvis tried changing up his show from Opening with "C.C.Rider/I Gotta Woman" with guitar, to walking out and opening with "Big Boss Man". They had rehearsed Set List/Songs up to a few days before this Opening Night and he was excited to try this. It was "decided" he go back to The Original Formula, and it remained for The Duration of his concerts. Sadly this was the last time Elvis tried to change a routine (like he had tried with his Musicals/Movies The Previous Decade), and was talked out of it, as usual, but not just by Colonel Parker as some movies would have you believe.
Poor Elvis, the fans lived him but we kept him imprisoned to the same shows ( More or less) each year. Elvis did an incredible set list that night but reverted back the following night.
Please.. this is a myth. Listen to this same concert, it was entirely recorded in soundboard. It's a regular concert, only 2 or 3 songs from his records of the previous year. No big change, really. I don't know how/where some people get this notion that there was a "bad response" of the audience... Just a MYTH. And an easy one to explain.

Second, he was in a great mood, third je wear the suit l love so much...and: he opened the season in a different line up.. he thought that the response was not that good as expected so he go back to the "usual" show opening.. sad, really. I wish that he just held his plan up...Change is the best against routine... but he felt different.. still, this season was great. But that quality of this footage is just breathtaking.. l wish there is more to see in this quality... Thanks again for sharing this outstanding footage!!!

A great opening show changed his set list completely but the audience did not respond 2 it so he went back usual set list 4 the rest of the engagement what a shame if anyone is interested in obtaining this cd it's a double called "Nevada Nites" Well worth adding 2 your collection.

He just put 2 or 3 recent songs and this is what you could expect since those records had a relative success in the previous year. Just because he begins the concert singing other song than See See Rider is absurd to think so, since that song only became a regular part of the setlist from 1972 on, and in 1969, 1970 and 1971 he used to begin with other songs, like Blue Suede Shoes, All Shook Up and That's All Right. In his second Vegas engagement he finished all the concerts singing The Impossible Dream. In all those years, there was never a bad response of the audience. Why should me, or you, give a "bad response" because he made a little change from time to time??? You understand why.this idea is nothing but a myth? Take a look at this video... Where's the "big change"? This first concert was entirely recorded in soundboard, it's a regular setlist. Except for the first song. So... I don't buy the idea about the audience's response.
Elvis was 39 here and kind of sick of being Elvis having to shake his legs and wiggle his hips he seems uncomfortable and making a joke of it , he really needed to do a world tour and needed a new challenge in the movies even a tv series I really feel sorry for him he’s a victim of his own success and image with no direction in his career outside of vegas and touring America.

You are correct. Big Boss Man was a huge and refreshing change from the stale CC Rider.

I bought the CD on the FTD label when it originally came out. I never imagined that years later we would get to see it too.
This came out a while before on the Fort Baxter in the 90s. This footage was also circulating on vhs back then too. 😊
