    I hope you will enjoy the following video and look forward to the "How to paint the Rocks"- Video, that will be shown here in a few days or weeks...

    Wow! I can see how you can create realistic rocks by using plaster and carving out the shape with your knife. It is certainly an option I can use when I create my rock formation. Thank you for making this video and for sharing your techniques.

    Thank you so much for this awesome idea. I know people probably been doing this for years, but I was moulding rocks and finding it very hard to make nice and seamless. But trying your method today I literally did so much and seemed allot more effortless and was actually really enjoyable I’m kinda addicted to it at the moment.

    Great Videos (how to make rocks) !! Great layout location. I rode a freight over Tehachapi Loop in 1976 ! I'm just learning scenery ( N scale ) so I really appreciate this kind of stuff. YOU make it look easy ! Not so easy. I live in Roseville, Calif, about one block from the U.P. ( Southern Pacific ) engine house and the hump is just a half mile away. The Sierra Nevada Range starts in five miles and Donner Summit and the Snow Sheds are an hour away. On Google earth we are a Four Way Hub. One line North to Seattle, one south to L.A., one west to S.F. and really Two east , one is Donner Summit and the other is Feather River Canyon. Empties east over Donner, loaded west through the Feather River, a little less steep.

    I was impressed w/ the worn trails on finished landscape.
    A wood carving knife would keep me from squirming in my chair. Sharpe but more durable than box cutter.

  • @fandru5538
    @fandru5538 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is just amazing ! So beautiful ! The most realistic and beautiful mountain scenery i have ever seen so far. Problem is, this is not only a matter of technique. You can show us how you do this, and it is certainly worth of it. But, eventually, what makes your rocks so beautiful, is their shapes, the rythm and variety of smaller and bigger parts and to do this at the level you achieve, you need a true artistic eye and feel. That's with no doubt your case, but not the case of everybody. Whatever, i'm gonna try, too... thanks a lot for the tips and congratulations again.

      Time should never be a factor in any hobby.

    • @remlya
      @remlya 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Time is always a factor. Most people have a finite amount of time to devote to a hobby. Unless they’re retired. If someone spends 2 hours on a method that can be accomplished in half the time because they don’t know how to do it more efficiently, then they’ve wasted time that they could have spent doing something else.

    • @rva1945
      @rva1945 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@remlya I meant, you should never give up a hobby just because it takes time. You should enjoy the time it takes! So no matter how long to takes to finish the layout as long as you are enjoying it. I can barely use 2 hs a day and not on a daily basis. Never mind, I enjoy my still unfinished layout.
