When I was much younger, we traveled to Luftwaffe airbases for training to enhance our interoperability during a conflict. That was during the Cold War in the late '70s. 😉

I’ve seen a A400M performance at Thunder over Michigan Airshow. For its size, it’s very agile.

Have been there in 2001 as a crew member of the “MATS Connie” L-749 N494TW. I also flew in B-17 “Yankee Lady” during the airshow opening flight over Detroit city in a 15+ warbird formation (3 sections) and got a backseat ride during the airshow display in Chuck Greenhill’s P-51D “Lou IV”. What a weekend for an 18 year old boy with a PPL license 😜

Just turned 18 and toured the entire US on a Lockheed Constellation and spent about 2 years on the airshow / warbird circuit until I ended up in Miami with a new friend who operated DC-6 and DC-7s for freight runs to the Caribbean islands. Was a fantastic time and I could get to know the US and many wonderful people. I really loved to be in the US, but unfortunately I have not been there since 2015.

12:40 can anyone tell me what causes that distinct growling sound coming from that era of airbus' engines? I love it
It's when the fan blades interact with vortices in the airflow, it's due to the design of the engines, along with the high power setting that is amplifying the noise of it.
May I ask, how exactly do you keep everything in frame and track as smoothly as you do? Your vids are, by far, some of, if not the best I've seen on YT.

ill never understand why the Tornado's never got a freakin upgrade. They seem so under developed
It received plenty of avionics updates over the years. But it's simply such a maintenance nightmare, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

It was painted Orange but the sun bleached it. I guess they didn’t bother because the c160 was retired.
9:05 what is that bulky ugly thing in front of the air-intakes? Is it A/C lol?
Air filters for the intakes.
Another shutter speed for the A400M recording would be better. The slow moving props look awful, sorry 😉 Thats my only point of criticism.
