Fun Fact: Shariff the muslim dude who got shot at the end was the same guy in Boyz N The Hood who took their football
You know what....how in the world did I not notice that until now? Absolutely right

He finally changed his life around 😂
His acting was kinda lame. He seems like more of a parody of the person he's trying to portray, lol. Tupac would have nailed this role.

The biggest hood movie debate growing up was always which movie was better between Menace and Boyz N The Hood
Those two movies New Jack City & Juice is the Mount Rushmore of hood classics.

9:16 WE STILL WALK WITH THE LIMP!!!!!
Btw it wasn’t really made clear in the movie but it was confirmed by the brothers who wrote this movie that the girl was lying to cane about being pregnant.
Could’ve fooled me . She was crying and everything . So she was a bop? 😭
@@yasmeenbeasley Yeah she was 😂😂😂 she was lying on the phone idk why they didn’t make it more clear though
That's because the brothers that wrote this movie impregnated a lot of women from coast to coast and they never paid any child support. They all about that anti-female narrative.
Yeah it was a commentary of how women in the hood can lie like they and get them killed off of it. Which means she was messing with guys worse than Kaine
It wasn't just that she was a bop. She was scheming. Get the money for the abortion off him but was never pregnant in the first place. When the "cousin" went over looking for Caine, it was supposed to be just to scare him so he'd fork over the money cause they just thought he was some square. I don't know why they shot the scene like that, they should've known the audience wouldn't realize the fact.
We supposed to be brothers ‼️
Kane was fucked either way
Lmao going to blow y’all mind when Yall notice he was telling the story but he was dead the whole time 😭😭

Fun fact this movie is in the same universe as Boyz N The Hood and also Poetic Justice is in the same universe as well
Yeah it is this universe lol the one we living in
I don't think singleton ever said those movie are connected as far as a similar universe. Also the third one you would be thinking of would be baby boy, not M2S. M2S movie was written and directed by the someone else. the guy who wrote Boyz n the hood, poetic justice and baby boy said they were part of a "hood trilogy." none of the same characters are in the same stories though. except once two names are mentioned in poetic justice that were used in Boyz. dookie and monster. but the dude who played dookie was playing a different character in the poetic justice. which to me cancels out the same universe.
@@scottb8454 It is go do your research
No Menace was made by a different studio and different directors to Boyz N da hood. Just because they in the same genre and made by black directors dont mean they connected.

This was real life of the 90s 80s and 70s
The parody movie you're talking about is "Don't Be A Menace to South Central while drinking your Juice in the Hood".
It's primarily a parody of this movie and Boyz in Tha Hood, but also parodies Juice (starring 2Pac), South Central, Dead Presidents, and a few other movies.
Also if you're into 90s hood movies; there's also the horror anthology "Tales From The Hood" which features the cousin who gets stomped out. The entries in the movie are a bit hit or miss, but the segment involving Krazy K was very well done and has a scene which was sampled by DMX in "Intro".
Y'all gotta check out South Central next. Straight up classic.
I saw another comment already mention this.
Even though no gangs are named in the movie nor is it ever explicitly stated that the characters are in a gang, but the characters are supposed to be Crips and the guys who shot Harold are supposed to be Bloods and the guys who do the drive-by at the end are from a rival Crip set.
The thing is that Crip sets spend more time fighting each other as they do the Bloods. The Crip at the time was along the lines of "Nobody's going to tell me what to do" and that ended up causing a lot of beefs between Crip sets over turf, fights, girls, drugs, and murders (as in someone would kill someone from another set and they'd get backed by their set even if they were in the wrong which would start a gang war). No disrespect to the Crips.
Bloods tended to be more unified and less prone to in-fighting as they were typically surrounded by Crip sets and hostile Hispanic gangs.
A lot of this calmed down after the LA Riots which lead to a peace treaty of sorts. I mean, it didn't exactly end the killings between the Crips and Bloods, but it did lead to a decrease in murders and generally stopped the outright antagonism between the two in LA. Before it used to be that if a Crip and Blood saw each other; it was supposed to be on-sight in most cases (exceptions were made for some neutral territory), but it ended up becoming more "You stay in your hood and I'll stay in mine".
wow i didn't know that but the ones that killed caine i kinda figured someo f the dudes were gang affialted. And the Jordan Down projects Caine stayed is in the Neighborhood of the Grape St gang alot of the extras were actual gang members Very important to add as well.

I love the back and forth dynamic about the unloaded gun between you two.but Naw bro she’s right. He shouldn’t be playing with a firearm at 5. He has plenty of time to learn how to “protect his family” him learning this at this age and coupled with the environment he is growing up in. Eazy-E was supposed to play O-Dog in 1993’s Menace II Society, director Allen Hughes has revealed.
Hughes stopped by The Breakfast Club on Thursday (April 13), where he spoke about his admiration for Eazy-E and how the role was originally written for the late N.W.A legend.
“We wrote that role for Eazy-E,” Hughes said of O-Dog’s character. “Eazy-E was my first real O.G. mentor in the business.
He continued: “I adore Eazy. He was so giving and so down-to-earth. By the way, great with his fans, too. Very patient with his fans
Actually Spice 1 was supposed to play that role
@@QuestionsAnswerz so you read this comment that states Allen Hughes one of the brothers who directed the movie "Eazy was suppose to play the role" straight from the horses mouth yet you say Spice 1 lol.I did see Spice mention that in his interview too, along with Pac auditioning for the role of Shariff before he got into it with the brothers.Think Spice said though that him & Pac were suppose to be playing the role of O-Dogg & Caine so 🤷♂️
And then MC Eiht went on to play Ryder( based on Easy-E) in gta San Andreas
The parody is “don’t be a menace”
I dont know if anyone mentioned to yall or you knew already but the girl in the movie is Jada Pinkett Smith. Tupac is the one who went to the directors and gave her the role he told them he wouldnt do the movie unless his "homegirl from Baltimore" was in it.
Woww We knew who it was but not how she got the role.
@@BingeTies Yeah Tupac was going to originally be in the movie i forgot who he was gonna play. Either O Dog or Sharif. But he beat up the Hughs Brothers who were the directors of the movie and they went with someone else. Its a video of Tupac on TH-cam raps bragging about beating them up
Jada when she came out with her book last year mentioned she got pissed when she found out he got fired from the role because when they were teenagers they always said they would do a movie together.
Its also a clip from 93 where Jada is interviewed and says a friend gave her the role. The friend was Pac. Around that time they were both putting each other on
Jada got the producers on her show to let Pac be in an episode of A Different World and Tupac got Jada to be in his music video for Keep Ya Head Up
The girl walking at the beginning of the Keep Ya Head Up video where the guys are all catcalling is Jada...

Larenz Tate starred in my favorite sitcom called The Royal Family.
Great reaction it was nice seeing you two react to a staple in my childhood.
It was funny hearing you both say that’s “Larenz Tate from Power” because this is how those of us who grew up on 90’s Hood movies met Tate. As he was one of the 90’s Black Hollywood IT boys. It’s good that he’s worked so long that different generations now him by different roles.
30:08
Yeah unfortunately, Amanda kind of got at this but most 90’s Hood movies ended sad because the filmmakers were trying to push the message of staying out of the streets. But if you would ever like to watch some “feel good” black films I would recommend:
Crooklyn (1994) directed by Spike Lee
The Wood (1999) directed by Rick Famuyiwa
Brown Sugar (2002) directed by Rick Famuyiwa
Love Jones (1997) directed by Theodore Fletcher
Best Man (1999) directed by Malcolm D. Lee
Soul Food (1997) directed by George Tillman Jr.
The Fiveheartbeats (1991) directed by Robert Townsend
So there’s a theory that “O Dawg” isn’t a real person..Caine has a split personality and O is who is doing all the murders..at the end of the movie Caine dying was him completely transitioning to O Dawg and getting arrested
Wowww
Dude and Jail is the same guy that was giving him the beer when he was a little kid
If that Lil boy grew up being taught gun safety Sir I'd say you're 100% correct. But I don't think he did, so it's crazy work that this is his introduction to a handgun.....

Lorenz Tate got arrested for that murder in the corner store too. That was also in the end as well
