Raphaël Merlin: «Il faut se ré-adapter à ses collègues tous les jours»

Cellist Raphaël Merlin has been a member of the Quatuor Ébène since 1999. On a stop in Luxembourg he talked to us about the origin of the quartet's name and how much freedom it gives them. Freedom is a core value of the quartet as the repertoire is vast and all members are willing to explore it and to give (almost) free reign to their individual wishes. As Merlin stresses, they play together and pleasure is key.
