      *What is the Gospel?*
      The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

    I started using hot oil treatments as a pre-poo. They have drastically decreased my tangled hairs and made styling on washday much easier. Game changer for me. I tried putting oil in my DC and rinsing out with water but my hair felt way too oily when styling…..so I prefer it as a pre-poo so that I can wash off with a moisturizing shampoo. Still reap the benefits this way. Great video, I’ll def watch the second one.

    • @tuffryda
      @tuffryda 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      you can't lock in oil with cream. oil can only seal/lock in cream. you have to dampen your hair before doing a hot oil treatment and the hot oil treatment should include penetrating oils and sealing oils too in order to seal in that moisture from the water and penetrating oils.

    • @alexcook1377
      @alexcook1377 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      also oil is a sealing agent for moisture not a moisturizer i use hot oil treatments as a pre poo and i wash it out right after because my hair would just be hella oily after a hot oil treatment but if you use a normal amount of oil you’re good if it at the end of your moisture routine

    • @CourageCurls
      @CourageCurls  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, did not intend to offend at all! You can definitely have healthy high porosity hair! It's just most people tend to have it because of heat or color damage. Hot Oiling is great for hi po hair though, damaged or not! :)

    • @kayscovill2361
      @kayscovill2361 ปีที่แล้ว

      Idk, but I think high porosity hair is not a natural state but damaged from something. That may be my misunderstanding and mistake but it is my experience. Don’t discount dry climate-specifically dry air-for the source of damaged hair if you do everything else right!
      I can treat my hair right with shampoo, conditioner, etc then on day two it starts fluffing out. Even coating my 2B,2C hair with coconut oil it will be totally absorbed or robbed from my hair by the air 4 hours later!
      Your discussion on sealing vs moisturizing oils is totally enlightening for me, College Curls! You are totally awesome! You remind me of the parable…give a person a fish you feed her for a day, teach her how to fish and you feed her for a lifetime! You are an awesome teacher!

    Please I have some few things to ask
    I’m almost 1 year in my hair growth and I can do almost a full cornrow, the back doesn’t want to cooperate 😂but I realized I’ve been doing some things wrong which hindered my growth
    1. What products to I need in all for my hair
    Is it Shampoo, conditioner, I saw some videos talking about moisturizing and they say use leave in conditioners. Does that mean I need 2 conditioners? 1 for miniaturing and one for deep conditioning or wash days
    Also what ingredients should I avoid in my shampoo and conditioner ?
    2. For oils I’ve been using natural rose Mary plant that is used to make oil with Castro oil a hair braider made that for me
    I mixed it with my natural coconut oil but last week I braided my with oiling because I washed it 2 days before and now it’s been really itching. I oiled this evening and massaged and I’ve not been feeling the itch that much(could it be because we didn’t oil)?
    3 . Can u deep condition or when doing poo method still use rice water?
    Do you wash rice water offf after and can I get my hair braided after using rice water

    What’s the difference between plant based oils and vegetable oils? Carrot oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, almond oil, olive oil, etc.. come from vegetables and fruits. And I assume that Palm oil (which is abundant where I live) should be considered plant based. Is mineral oil man made? I not criticizing, I am sincerely interested in the answer.

    I think I got a bit lost at the end. So we're supposed to do it AFTER shampooing? I've seen people do this before shampooing. What are the benefits of doing it before?

    • @CourageCurls
      @CourageCurls  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Before shampooing is called a prepoo and it’s VERY beneficial mainly for retaining moisture throughout the shampooing process. Here’s a link to my video all about prepooing: th-cam.com/video/L3ZNxhzxNmk/w-d-xo.html Hope it helps 💕

      I wouldn’t suggest it as it’s a process that’s meant to be rinsed out after about 30 minutes or so. Any longer than 30 minutes and you won’t be getting anymore benefits from it.

    do you have to rinse or can you just leave the oil in? and do you rinse just with water or shampoo again?

    • @CourageCurls
      @CourageCurls  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Because your hair will likely be super oily, you want to rinse it out! Shampooing your hair afterwards would actually make this hot oil treatment a prepoo (which is totally fine), but with hot oil treatments you can rinse with just water. Hope this helped, thank you for watching and commenting! :)

    Can this hot oil method be replaced by deep conditioning?

    • @ABIIIIisVICKY
      @ABIIIIisVICKY 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No, I always do both, it doesn't replace it. I have 4C low porosity and I do it every two weeks after washing my hair, I rinse out the oils as much as I can and then do my deep conditioning.

    • @CourageCurls
      @CourageCurls  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      No, it shouldn’t be used as a replacement but it can definitely be used either before or after deep conditioning to boost the moisturizing experience! Or you can mix oil into your deep conditioner for an even quicker process! There are certain long term moisturizing and rejuvenating properties to deep conditioning that hot oiling doesn’t give, but they work great together! 😊

      No, I definitely wouldn’t suggest doing it with the grease - it doesn’t penetrate or nourish yourself hair nearly as well as oil does. You can do it with just the castor oil though - plus that oil is known for being great at promoting growth too! 😊💕
