You're entitled to your opinion, but I think you're missing the point. As others here have stated, the ultra rich people who buy these aren't looking at a cost/benefit analysis. They look at these the same way we look at $5 pair of socks with an interesting pattern on them. It's not a lot of money to us, so we buy it on a whim.
I think you're missing the point of his watches. They're not watches in the traditional sense. They're high-end curiosities for the wealthy, designed to be conversation starters and mechanical sculptures. No one else does what Jacob does and so he can charge a premium.
