Fabulous review thanks for taking the time to do it. Looking at bread making machines just now and was looking at Panasonic in particular. When you said that you've had your first one for over 16 years and it's still working I was impressed. Most stuff doesn't last anywhere near as long as that. Think I'm convinced that Panasonic is the way to go!!

@@RussellPlatten I hope you dont mind if I ask a question Russell. I am gluten free. Can all the bread choices be made using gluten free flour. I have heard I would only need to prove one time with this type of flour and would not want to buy this machine only to find I can only make one type of loaf. So what I would like to find out is if you can alter the program for each loaf to say, only prove once, or does it not need this with gluten free flour? I dont know where to go to find out really. Thanks.

I too have the old Panasonic breadmaker which I have been using for 25 years and it still works fine. I am just looking at the new model because I like the idea of a bigger loaf - 2 pounds compared to my current 1 pound loaf. But like you said, it is still working fine. Great quality and I will be sticking with Panasonic.

Thank You so much Russell! I purchased one of these breadmakers in Perth Western Australia today and I just set my first program. When I heard that loud clicking I though there was something wrong with my machine! So I looked online to see if I could find out if it was normal and found your TH-cam video. To my relief it was the same in your video and you explained exactly what it was. Great presentation - really helpful and informative. And you just get straight to the point and edited it so there was no time wasted which I really appreciated. Way better than the instruction book. Thank You so much 😁

the Panasonic is the third bread machine I made my first loaf today. it is incredibly quiet I thought I made a mistake as the timer stayed for more than an hour on rest. I then was relieved when I heard it kneading. the final is a perfect loaf. what I love the most is how easy it is to remove the bread from the pan.

@@RussellPlatten I have got Panasonic SD-ZX2522... upgrade of ur bread maker but I think is very similar to ur bread maker. I was wondering which recipe u used for making Naan bread, as u mention basic dough n it was 27 minutes. The manual and recipes that I have got hasn't got that. Can u plss tell me the quantity and menu+time.

Great review, I have this machine and use it a lot but you’ve taught me a few things I didn’t know! I prefer to use the dough recipes and finish off in the oven, I think it makes better bread/buns this way.

Had a smile with the hole down the bottom of the loaf. As for the video, apart from some inconsistent audio, it was absolutely perfect 👍. So informative and pointing out tidbits that reviewers tend to forget for actually owning the machine.
Would also have liked some comments about cleaning the unit, but overall, I think this video probably sold me more than anything else!

I have an ancient Panasonic bread maker still going strong but your review has tempted me to upgrade for the greater versatility of your machine. As my machine has aged it has a tendency for the loaf hanging on to the mixing paddle on removal but it only baffles you once!

I had one of these machines. It has a weak point: the little catch which releases the contents of the raisin-holder into the mixture is plastic, and it breaks after about 50 to 100 loaves.
If you always make plain bread with no added nuts or raisins, that doesn't matter to you. But if you make raisin bread or walnut bread, avoid this machine.

Hello Russell. Great review! I bought this exact model about 3 months ago. It's a great machine and I have been successfully baking tasty wholemeal loaves, adding multiple seeds, every week. One thing I have not yet discovered is how to remove the dispenser lid. The instructions under 'Care and Cleaning' (page 43 in my instruction manual) do not work for me. It does not come off easily and I worry about using excessive force in case it breaks. I consider myself reasonably practical, but for this I am stumped. Have you tried to do this? Am I missing something simple?

    • @RussellPlatten
      @RussellPlatten  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Barry, mine comes off fairly easily, but it does need a little force. The trick is guessing the 75 degree angle reasonably accurately. The instructions, like so many nowadays, are a bit poor! I would leave it if you are not happy and clean it in situ! :-)

Great video, thank you. I’m a home bread maker and part of my breads I make I use the bread machine. I like this bread machine a lot, but unfortunately, I don’t see this available in the U.S. where I am. I don’t see it on Amazon U.S.

Hi Russel - I have recently purchased a Panasonic YR2550 breadmaker - I found this review you did for a different model. I have found the instruction booklet blooming confusing and pretty much useless. I have made a medium loaf as per instructions and that was fine but there are no instructions for making plain crusty bread rolls - I know the dough needs to be removed but timings don’t seem to be on there - could you help at all?- otherwise my husband might leave me for someone who can bake rolls 😂 - thank you Pauline

How do you cook the Naan bread?

  • @Katnikol

Thank you so much for the review! I have the machine and the first three or four loafs came out fine. The next ones come out as if the dough does not spread equally in the basket and the bread is baked only in the one half of it. Or it appears in three broken, very dense pieces... What could be going wrong??

Nice review. I have just started using mine. I am a little worried about the yeast dispenser not working and tend to put all the ingredients into the pan. Is this ok to do? Thanks again.

I can't see any problem with putting the yeast straight into the pan, but we have had no issues with the yeast dispenser and have been using the machine constantly since the review. :-)

    Good Review.
I haven't used a bread maker for many years, and just looking again for another one.
Can you tell me, does that one have a delay timer? With my old one I could time it to have the dough freshly ready for breakfast, then do the buns in the oven.
