  • Rc car tuning can be confusing if your a newcomer to the hobby. especially in rc racing. Here in this video I give you my top 4 tuning adjustments you need to be paying attention to, so that your car can perform at its peak performance on the rc track. There are many other adjustments on your car that you can mess around with to get it dialed in. But if you neglect these 4 things im going to share with you, your car more then likely wont perform the way it should.
    These are the basics of rc car tuning and many rc car racing beginners overlook them and is what I see most commonly causing the issues when im asked for setup help at the track.
    In future videos ill dive deeper in the other tuning adjustments you can make to your car that will help it perform better on the track. even the smallest adjustments matter in these little machines and if one this is off or not quite right it could potentially throw off your entire rc car setup.
    Im constantly re adjusting my setup always trying to find that extra tenth or two on the track. But I honestly don't recommend that for a beginner in RC. Its much more important to make sure your maintenance game is on point like rebuilt diffs, shocks and making sure nothing is bent or tweaked. Then instead of burning time at the track wrenching and tuning id burn in laps and learn how to drive the proper way. Once you learn how to hold a line and learn breaking points and so on then id begin to start messing around with setup once you learn your particular driving style and no how you like your rc car to drive. Everyone has their own driving style so that's why its not always best to copy say a pros setup and expect it to work for you.
    next week well dive in deeper on how I like to practice and you'll get a really good idea on you should approach practice days.

    Thank you. Getting into rc again after 16 years and the 2wd. Buggy is my preferance. My local track is super loose gravel/clay mix and bumpy. Mid motor cars are a new thing to me.

    Seen the RC Fun Park trophies in background, nice! I'm finishing my first kit a B6.3d to race n Granger is gonna mainly be where I drive at. I've just got a 21t to practice with for now as I've never even been on a track. I've only played around in the yard with Stampedes n stuff back in the day. I've inherited my Dad's RC10, RC10L, and RC10GT so wanted to build my own and hit the track. Knew right off the rip I was staying RC10.

      @@BradRC got a handme down b5m I’m cutting my teeth on. Have maybe 30 total laps under my belt. First actual race was a big local trophy race. Yeah I gave marshals a workout. Placed DEAD last. Changing set up to kit set up and starting from scratch. It was in bad shape. Steering block inserts were 2mm left and 4mm front. Lol getting it all to normal and just starting over. Hardest thing to drive I’ve ever down in RC. Lol I’m watching your other videos today. It’s fun to watch you go thru what you do. Thanks again for posting.

    Great video. What would be the sequencing order to setup your car?
    Same as un the video? Tire, shocks, camber, toe in?

  • @colestaples2010
    @colestaples2010 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    For a beginner I think the shock package is more important. Later tires are more important. Just my opinion

    Hello, thank you for the cool video. You have a new subscription.
    Can I ask you what I can do if my 2WD car understeers too much on high grip?
    I have already tried to get more weight forward. Do you have any other tips for adjustments?
    Thanks and best regards

    • @BradRC
      @BradRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can try a softer front spring or move the shock location on the shock tower out a hole or move the battery position forward.
      What you may have to do if it’s low grip is try to get more rotation out of the rear so it doesn’t push. With that you can’t a stiffer rear spring or or raising your roll center or going to a thicker oil
      What can also help as well is less droop
      Hope this helps try one thing at a time till you find what your looking for.
      Thanks for the support!

      @@BradRC Hi Brad,
      thank you very much for your answer. I have recently started driving 2WD.
      I will try your suggestions - point by point.
      The important thing, as you say, is to make and test only 1 change at a time.
      The first test will be to move the shock location on the shock tower out a hole.
      Best regards from Austria.

    what would you recommend for someone getting into the RC racing hobby for first RC 1/10 scale buggy

    • @BradRC
      @BradRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most people start off with short course as 1/10 buggy is probably the hardest and most competitive class. But if you wanna start off with buggy it may be a harder learning curve but you’ll definitely learn from your mistakes quicker and possibly progress faster. Though there may be more headaches starting out.
