Wow, like seriously this is on public tv in the UK? I come from Czech Republic and we have big problem with prorussian/misinformation media on the internet here, but I can't imagine hard trolling channel like this on public TV.
TalkTV, another Murdoch spin off is hardly watched by anyone in UK. It's one of 100's of TV channels. Similar to GB news, tiny amounts of viewers but they use short social media clips to try and shift the agenda. Very much part of the Tufton St, Tory, billionaire media owners 1% trying to be populist. Embarrassing representation of the UK. Apologies !

I'm not sure you can really count JW as TV. He's had a challenging time has old James, and it's sad to see just how willing he is to schill for the wrong team, despite his ill health, personal crises and woefully out-dated schtick. He should have our collective pity. His sidekick looks like he's not even sure what day of the week it is, or whether he's in the right studio. I enjoyed that Keir got promoted to PM though :)

You know I don't always agree with Roger's tactics but he did very well in this interview. Lots of regular TalkTV viewers I suspect would have at least been influenced to consider the climate question more carefully, especially when the people attacking the science come across so obnoxiously.

Well done for trying to have a conversation with them. What they're actually saying is important; because they're reasonable questions that a lot of the public might have. Ok it is a bit aggressive and seems silly to some people, but if the left don't start taking people seriously we are going to lose bigtime and we're going to loose people to the far right. We cant just laugh at people, its dangerous - you have to engage with them and build something with them.

Yeah, sadly all I see is him missing an opportunity here, he could've done much more with his air time. It's sad to see this attitude of "all the material/scientific arguments are already out there, I won't engage with any questions about them" be taken to such extremes, to a refusal to explain some basics when you *know* you're talking specifically to a crowd that's being fed 99% bullshit all the time and barely gets a chance to hear the scientific side of it.
It's like the self-sabotaging attitude of the Twitter Progressives, of "I don't have to educate you". Yes you do. You want social change you have to educate people who don't know even the most basic facts of the matter and major processes that are at play. You absolutely have to fucking educate people or you're not doing activism.
