- Sorry about the bad quality of this vid, but the original tape it came from is about to desintegrate. It's a video about the production of Skoda cars in the beginning of the 1980's.

Skoda rules! I have a Rapid 135 Ric and it's a superb car!
The Czech factories are perfect, we have an old skoda 105, and it is in good condition after 30 years, moreover i readed the books Africa with the 2 Czech traveller with a Tatra T87 :)
hmm, působivé. Jako status quo v roce 1982 celekm solidní, pak desetiletí praxe ukázala jiné poznatky o těchto vozech...:-)

@classicczech Hi Classicczech, Thanks for this information, glad to see the engineering force has been kept in Skoda,The technological and industrial heritage in Czech is really impressive, far better than Russia.
They are still around in Slovakia, but disapearing very fast. The newest one is 17 years old. Some are till in very good condition.
Skoda made great cars, well made, reliable, easy to work on, better than Fiat, Austin, MG, Vauxhall, Holden. I wish they had sold Skoda's here in the USA, they would have been a great alternative to the overpriced VW's, Toyota's and Honda's.
Has the design & engineering department of Skoda still been reserved by VW after the acquisition took place? Or use design from VW headquarter?
@classicczech All skodas are VW underneath.They use the same chassis engine gearbox etc but in skoda clothing.
We are here in 1982. He was not yet a member of the VW Group at the time.

By the lack of Skoda Sales in Australia lately, and historically, yes they have all fallen apart Down Under, I guess we Blokes realize that they are still made like this................

Does anyone know what kind of English accent the narrator speaks? I mean. It's clearly British. But everything that ends on a 'y' sounds more like 'eh'. eficenceh, bodeh, maneh ^^

This is a usual thing of eastern bloc english narrators. The Wartburg Maintenance videos were done the same way.
I remember a small dealership in my city selling these cars....Garbage cars with cardboard interiors...Flip air vents...$2000.00...They would never start...disposable cars...Student transportation...
But they still sold in their hundreds of thousands!!!!!
