The youngest and imature gets the most complex and intricate weapon
It's the "cool" one, that you can do the most tricks with so obviously the little kid wants it.
Splinter had him train with that one because he saw the most potential in him.
Splinter gave them weapons that did not suit them so they would learn to work together and not really entirely on the weapon
The nun-chunks are a incredible hard weapon to use properly and Harder to master. Splinter probably gave the weapon to him so that he can learn patience.
Mikey's the most talented out of all of them, makes sense that he can be goofy as hell and not fall behind

Do you want to cry more? The Last Ronin was the epilogue of the ORIGINAL TMNT timeline, and for the first time in years was written by the two creators together. They parted ways for so many years, were reunited for a Netflix show and decided to do one last comic together. And Mikey is the main character... Because he was the first turtle they drew, together, as a joke. The Last Ronin isn't just a graphic novel, it's the final reconciliation of two friends

Well he didn't go missing he got transported to the future. But as far as the other turtles know he disappeared. But yea that's what happened.

donnie got it the worst that arc. he got sent to a dystopian future where hope is seemingly lost; utrom shredder won, splinter is dead, don in that timeline went missing for 30 years, raph and leo resent each other, and mikey is the last turtle fighting against shredder. and even when don “sets things right” and defeats shredder, his brothers (after re-uniting after years of being apart) die trying to help him win. it was a really gut wrenching episode.

Mikey is truly a bad ass for sure. The fact that he can crack jokes and one-liners just like Spider-Man and Deadpool during combat just goes to show how naturally confident that he is.

I love the different narratives of the turtles. Leo is consciously the most patient & wise. Ralph is the biggest physically & latently the strongest but can make it conscious sometimes. Donnie is easily the smartest & brains obvi. & Mikey is the funniest, coolest one yet also has the most potential of them all. The power structure is distributed well amongst them. Props to the writers

The comics and shows. Think the first I've heard about it was maybe the 2004 cartoon? Know for a fact there was a whole scene about it in the first season of the 2014 show.
The comics:
Leo: The most proficient (....due to diligence and hard work)
Raph: The strongest
Mikey: The most naturally gifted
Donnie: The most analytical i.e. the battle strategist

I think also it's cause he has a relaxed demeanor like he goes with the flow and basically fights with instinct instead of overthinking what he should do next.
There's also the alternate future where he trains those mecha-wearing teens as basically their splinter.
I was kinda hoping that was how Last Ronin would end, even if it wasn’t realistic. Mikey deserved to grow old and teach the next generation.
@@zanethezaniest274 it’s better he reunites with his fallen family and gets the actual peace and rest he deserves, instead of living with the knowledge that his whole family is gone and having nothing to fight for since he defeated shredder.

People often write mikey off as shallow due to his wisecracking and bantering and fooling around but when you look deeper at Mikey's character he's like that because its his job to keep the spirits up for his brothers because of the otherwise dim implecations of there missions and overall life.
He was reunited with his family in the end. Nice :')

@@Lowfe Technically it could be the "original". The story was written by Kevin Eastman. One of the creators of TMNT, and had go on to say that this is how it'd come to an end, if they were ever planning on doing so
Its hard to picture an ending where these mutant aberrants settle down and grow old with a family. Honestly it was always hard for me to imagine a true "endgame" for the TMNT that wasn't atleast somewhat tragic.

Hawkeye with the swordplay and expert marksmanship vs Mikey with all the turtles weapons plus more and the naturally gifted thing. It’s a hard call to make. I’ll leave the result to someone more qualified than me.

I think it could go both ways depending on the circumstances. Mikey has enhanced strength since he's a mutant, but if Clint can keep his distance long enough to land a few well placed arrows in Mikey's weaker points like his chest or his head, he could possibly get a fatal slash with his sword. It really just depends on the environment around them, because they both utilize the area around them instead of relying on strength alone.

The reason Mikey is alive is because of his brothers, particularly Leonardo. To give him credit and anoint him the “last ronin” is fine but it doesn’t make him the “best ninja turtle”. Make no mistake he would have died with Leonardo if it wasn’t for Leonardo telling him to take April and leave while Leo as the big brother stayed back and fought off the horde of mousers so that his brother and April could survive. It’s quite shameful to imply that Mikey is somehow superior to his turtle brothers just because he didn’t die with them.
Mike as the last survivor is bitter sweet. I have not read the comic about that specific arc, but I imagine his funny low brow personality took a serious hit after the deaths of his brothers / father and must have been more stoic and reserved later in life the way Raphael was naturally. This could be an amazing cinematic trilogy if they maintained the aesthetics of the 1990 masterpiece.
It never occured to me that mikey never took things seriously but ALWAYS kept up with his brothers every step of the way.
I should have figured that he was the most skilled without ever taking it seriously.
