It's rare when a musical band can write such a masterpiece, record it beautifully, and then make another rendition with an orchestra that is even more beautiful and lush than the original. Just wow!
Markus Dravs produced it. Bjork, Coldplay, Brian Eno, Florence + The Machine etc. Takes bands with talent to the next level. Which he clearly did here. Spectacular album man
I mean this as no disrespect to Matt from Muse, Chino from Deftones, Mike Patton from FNM or any of my other favorite lead singers/songwriters of all time but Ellie Rowsell is the GOAT. The more you dive into Wolf Alice's catalogue the more you come to realize the sheer genius and all time greatness of their and Ellie Rowsells songwriting !!!!
I thought I was the only one who connected early Radiohead to Wolf Alice. To me Wolf Alice have been the only band to consistently blow my head off since then. I cannot think of a higher acolade than that. You guys are brilliant.
I'm really struggling to hear how this is connected to any Radiohead in any way. I guess we all have different hearing and comprehension. This song is ok at best.

I dunno. I think these orchestral integrations work better for metal bands, like Architects recently (and BMTH in the recent past). The contrast of the sharp instrumentals and smooth strings (the guitar here diffuse into the strings and contributes nothing). I love Blue Weekend and My Love is Cool though, don’t misunderstand.
Delicious Things was the first song I ever heard from WA and from the first note I was absolutely enraptured by them. This version is so incredibly beautiful, gave me chills. If anyone out there is considering getting into more of their discography, please please do. They are one of the best bands out there today imo

Saw them in Denver on the 4th. They did a great job with this song and the 17 others they played (as a 5 piece). They are one of the best live acts I've ever seen (twice).
I went to see them in Atlanta last weekend and it was the best show I’ve ever been to. If you ever have the opportunity to go, don’t pass it up! (Flew there from Tallahassee!)

LOVE IT!!! I've said it before and I'll say it again - an orchestral tour would be awesome. Admittedly, a logistical nightmare, so it will probably never happen. So I'd happily settle for an orchestral album! So yeah, consider this my plea to think about releasing an orchestral album. :)

Song of the year! Song of the decade! This band is exactly the shot in the arm that rock needs. Brilliant performance by an amazing singer and a super-talented band. They just keep raising the bar.

I challenged my mates last year to come up an album with absolutely no unskippable tracks - they came up with plenty, but none that I agreed with, whereas I couldn't come up with one - until this year when I discovered Blue Weekend. Just a perfect album, and this is by far the best track on it. Didn't need the orchestra as it's already beyond perfect, but this was nice great anyway..!
This is absolutely a work of art. So much talent. I would also say in my humble opinion it seems like it could also fall into the blues category as well there are some amazing influences I feel I hear here.
