Man we really need a Calamity War Era OVA. Like just imagine it being a story in the perspective of a young ms pilot chosen to pilot a Gundam Frame in the stead of a noble family and in the span of these OVA episodes it basically just follows this young pilot's journey from the outbreak of the Calamity War as your basic grunt who's a nobody to the ending years of the Calamity War where they've basically ascended into a mythical figure just from piloting a Gundam frame and surviving long enough to live to see the Calamity War end.

The reason why Marchosias was wearing a red cape is perhaps a way to tell other MS pilots nearby to gtfo since its pilot was about to go all out against the MA. This action was preserved as a tradition later on as a signal for dueling between two MS pilots, and if you think about it, it makes sense.
Marchosias wore the red cape because it was a sign of duel at that time too. Marchosias was built SPECIFICALLY to solo MAs in contrast to other gundams/frames, which needed to work in a team in order to do so (the sub-arms were supposed to handle sub units like Hashmal's Plumas, while the main body attacked the MA directly with its heavy armaments aka the long sword and Bastard Mace). It was more of a "leave this to me" rather than "gtfo of my way"
The whole of IBO setting is like medieval gundam. Most of the mobile suits use melee weapons, beam weapons are useless to their armor and the most effective ranged weapon is a railgun that takes a while to fire and is massive, like crossbows or ballistas in middle ages.
@@forlogic53 I would say the dainsleif was more like in the introduction of musket. They were large and heavy(during the medieval era) that took long to reload and were fire in volley like how the dainsleif is used in the show.

The Mobile Armors were Dragons unleashed upon the Sol System to plague humanity, and the organization that rose to fight them and would one day become Gjallarhorn was a noble Order of Knights, with the 72 Gundam Frames serving as a fusion between armor and steed. Rather ironic, considering that the MAs were all named after Angels, and the Gundams took their names from the Demons of the Ars Goetia.
The pilot probably had a beef with the Mobile Armors and chose to put the red cape on his Gundam to imply for no one to interfere. And one thing i love about IBO is u can feel how heavy the things are despite how fast MS's moves.
The Calamity War was a unique timeline in IBO's conflicting universe. This was the era where the Gundam frame and their pilots were at its peak condition; making the Barbatos or the Bael frames we know of today look like prototypes. We definitely need an OVA or prequel to the show.
I've read somewhere that before Calamity war, AI advanced so much that they overtook all major functions of society. During the war, they basically build the MA themselves. So the entire calamity war is just John Conor Vs skynet
I just noticed its not just one MA get wrecked by Marchosias. That pilot is soloing at LEAST 2-3 of them. The Calamity War frames and pilots are in a league of thier own and this wasnt even Agnika Kaireu fighting with peak Bael.
at this point , Calamity War deserves it's own series or OVA format like Gundam Unicorn , with each episode focuses on certain party (Bael,Barbatos,Astaroth, Marchosias,Kimaris) but connected at the end of the series . I only mention several M.S that's still look close to their original counterpart because MS that buried in sand like Flauros or owned by bandit and turned into ugly thing like Gusion must have I'll fate in the past as for Vual and Dantalion i can't say much because I'm not following the series.
I think Flauros is unmodified and is still using its Calamity War equipment. It has 2 shoulder mounted railguns that are significantly smaller and lighter but just as strong as the railguns used by Gjallarhorn. That's lost tech right there.
*Vegeta*: Tell me?!? Can a Machine feel FEAR?!?!? Well considering that this Mobile Armor was so brutalized in the past by that Gundam till it was having PTSD Flashbacks in 4K from multiple angles.... Yeah.. I'd say they can feel fear. lol
@@astraeaexe8870 SRW clarifies that by the time Mika reaches the Rex, his character could in theory release the limiter for 2 minutes without permanenet damage but afterwords being extremely tired. I wouldnt be syrprised if Calamity pilots did get strained from using it but I dont think theyd lose limbs in the process, probably being capable using it for extended periods of time.
@@ParagonGoetia that's in SRW and in theory not in practice. Also canon still matters. The idea of behind the AV system is, you sacrifice yourself to the gundam to gain more power in order to defeat your enemy. As you can see between battle of Edmonton and with Hashmal, everytime Mika asks his Gundam for more power, he starts bleeding out sacrificing functions of his body (first the eyes and an arm then the whole body that he needs to be plugged to the Gundam to utilize them). SRW is fanservice.
@@astraeaexe8870 I think this is a case of us needing more info of the Calamity and the true AV, since the 2 minute rule extends beyond SRW to other unit description like in some SD games. The reason entering said state seemed to hurt Mika was due to his AV being from the blackmarket without any safety measures. It is not in essence what the system does, we know this since the limiters were put in after the war, meaning that this was done to try and stop anyone from ever truly recreating the AV. This also means that, as shown by Marchosias, the off limiter state was the normal mode to take on waves of MAs, as also shown by Marchosias taking on multiple Haraels at once.
aghhh, the glimpse of what happened in calamity war is killing me. I want to see em all. sheeesh, a show where G-Frames' hunting MA... why they dont make it...
@@OnlySSSTuna All Gundam frames during the Calamity were cool. Mika was on the present, the closest we could get, with him being a tier 3 pilot. But still, Calimity pilots were tier 1.

Because IBO Era has people who gotten tired of Beam spams that they pivoted all their technology to be able to make all Beams useless.

The fact its eyes are glowing red means the original pilot is already on his last leg and giving his all to defeat the mobile armor.

モビルアーマーに対して本気モードで「殺してやる…」という気持ちが全面的に現れている。
もう１つ気付いたことは、三日月オーガスが搭乗していたガンダムバルバトスのリミッター解除の状態（機体の目の部分が赤黒く光り流動している）と同じだということ。
厄祭戦時代のガンダムフレームは、このような感じで激しく真っ向勝負のような戦闘ばかりをしていたのだろうか…と想像してしまう…🤔🍵
