I've read so many books about it, and all tell the same. The animated movie wanted to hold on tighly to the myth of survival, taking advantage on the fact that the body of one of the youngest grand duchesses was still missing. Some of the back of the boxes of film merchandise I own, mention it. They talk about Grand Duchess Anastasia next to photos of her childhood (not Anna Anderson). I quote them: "Even now the fate of the last of the Romanovs remains a mystery." So the focus was on Grand Duchess Anastasia, not the claimant. Whilst a fantasy, in the end the movie confirms that Anastasia indeed survived and we get a make-believe retelling of the classic "what if Anastasia survived" interrogation. The point of my comment was to encompass this. Perhaps I didn't phrase myself well. Sorry! Of course we can say the story is very similar to the movie Yul Brynner and Ingrid Bergman starred in the 50s (which is absolutely brilliant), this movie was based on Marcelle Maurette's play, influenced by Pierre Gilliard's (teacher of the imperial children) book The False Anastasia. This book does deal with the impostor of Anna Anderson but ends up denouncing her as a fraud.
Q Bion i think this could happend, but Anastasia is from Fox i don't know if they could make a good musical live action since they don't have much experience with musical like Disney, but if they choice to make a film they should call the guy who made La La land, he is a Oscar winner and he is very good with musical.

If this is true i think is good, cause they could make her more relevant and more people from new generations could know her and she can became a live action movie in the future.

The one thing I am crossing my fingers for is that they make a recording of this play on Blu-Ray or DVD. It's been done with Broadway musicals before and I really want it to be done with this because this in and of itself looks amazing, but there's no way I have the money to get from the West coast of Canada to the East coast of the USA and see a Broadway play on top of it all :(

I searched about the true story and I have learned the real life story of the Duchess. It was so sad. I might be too late but this movie/musical is superb.

This is my childhood film.
