      @@WhirlyBloke By the way, the original ELRS that shipped with the Zorro allowed to go up to 250mv in TX power. After the update to the latest elrsV3.lua, the TX power caps at 100mv. Is that expected? anything in the regulatory configurations that can up the TX power higher than 100mv?

    I just bought the RadioMaster Zorro 4in1. On this device do I still update Express LRS into it? ATM I am just buying this controller to hook up to my iMac 24" and play the sim. I don't have a drone for this. I have the Avata, but the Controller 2 doesn't want to work with my iMac so here I am.
    Thanks for the informative video. I had no idea there is so much this controller does.

    • @WhirlyBloke
      @WhirlyBloke  ปีที่แล้ว

      The RadioMaster Zorro 4in1 is a transmitter module that supports multiple protocols, including ExpressLRS, Crossfire, FrSky, and FlySky. If you want to use it with a simulator on your iMac, you don't need to update the firmware to ExpressLRS unless you plan to use it with a drone that requires that specific protocol.
      To use the RadioMaster Zorro 4in1 with a simulator on your iMac, you will need to connect it to your computer via USB and configure the input settings in your simulator software to recognize the controller. You may need to download and install specific drivers or software for your operating system to ensure that your iMac recognizes the controller correctly.
      It's worth noting that if you plan to use the RadioMaster Zorro 4in1 with a drone in the future, you will need to update the firmware to the appropriate protocol, such as ExpressLRS, for that specific drone. Firmware updates typically require a computer and a USB cable to connect the transmitter module, and the specific instructions may vary depending on the firmware and drone you're using.
      I hope this helps!

    do you know how to get the lua build option too?
    because I want to install Yaapu Frsky Telemetry script and it's wiki says I need both lua and luac

    • @WhirlyBloke
      @WhirlyBloke  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To get Lua and Luac scripts, you need to check the firmware build options you selected during the EdgeTX flashing process. Make sure to select a build that includes both Lua and Luac scripts support. You may need to reflash your firmware with the correct options. This should allow you to use the Yaapu FrSky Telemetry script. Let me know how you get on.

    The SD card for the firmware update that you are referring to, comes preinstalled in the RadioMaster?

    • @WhirlyBloke
      @WhirlyBloke  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite. Download the new firmware and put it on one of your own SD cards. Then put the SD card in the radio and use the flashing sequence I describe to flash the Zorro with the new firmware. Don't forget to back up your radio first.

    Zorro can bind traxxas receiver TQi?

    • @WhirlyBloke
      @WhirlyBloke  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it is possible to bind a Traxxas TQi receiver to the Radiomaster Zorro.
      To bind the Traxxas TQi receiver to the Radiomaster Zorro, you will need to select the TQi receiver protocol in the Radio Setup menu of the Zorro transmitter. You will also need to put the TQi receiver into binding mode by following the instructions provided in the Traxxas TQi receiver manual.
      Once the receiver is in binding mode, you can initiate the binding process from the Radio Setup menu of the Zorro transmitter. The Zorro transmitter will then search for and bind to the TQi receiver. Once the binding process is complete, the Zorro transmitter should be able to communicate with the TQi receiver.

      Definitely. You need the correct LUA scripts on the Zorro to setup up ELRS. The easiest way to do this is upgrade the Zorro to the latest version of EdgeTX which will install the latest LUA scripts on the Zorro. Thanks for watching.

    Hi purchased a zorro, with firmware already installed, im using crossfire and tbs agent light is already on my zorro, i want to put my model bin files from opentx on the radio, and i cannot workout how to convert bin files into Yaml, firmware version v2.7.1. any advice welcome, Thanks

    • @WhirlyBloke
      @WhirlyBloke  ปีที่แล้ว

      To convert your OpenTX model bin files to YAML format, you will need to use the OpenTX Companion software. Here's how to do it:
      Download and install the latest version of OpenTX Companion software from the OpenTX website.
      Connect your RadioMaster Zorro to your computer via USB cable.
      Open OpenTX Companion and click on the "Read Models and Settings from Radio" button.
      Wait for the software to download the model data from your radio.
      Click on the "File" menu and select "Save As".
      In the "Save As" dialog box, select "YAML (*.yml)" as the file type.
      Choose a location on your computer to save the YAML file and give it a name.
      Click "Save" to convert the model bin file to YAML format.
      Transfer the YAML file to your RadioMaster Zorro by copying it to the "MODELS" folder on the radio's SD card.
      On your RadioMaster Zorro, select "Models" from the main menu, then select "Restore Models".
      Select the YAML file you just transferred and click "Open" to load the model onto your radio.
      That should be it! Your OpenTX model should now be loaded onto your RadioMaster Zorro and ready to use.

    when my pc was flashing, i didnt have enough disk space, when i freed up space, it didnt ask me to install anything again but the flash was successful. is this a problem. or how do i set it away to install again?

    • @WhirlyBloke
      @WhirlyBloke  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's possible that the Radiomaster Zorro software was already partially installed on your PC when you started the flashing process, and that the freed-up disk space allowed the software to complete the installation and successfully flash the device.
      If the flashing was successful and you're not experiencing any issues with your device, then it's unlikely that there is a problem. However, if you want to ensure that the software is installed properly, you can try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it from scratch.
      To uninstall the Radiomaster Zorro software, you can follow these steps:
      Click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your screen.
      Type "Control Panel" and click on the "Control Panel" app that appears in the search results.
      Click on "Programs and Features" or "Add or Remove Programs" depending on your Windows version.
      Scroll down the list of installed programs until you find the Radiomaster Zorro software.
      Click on the Radiomaster Zorro software, and then click on the "Uninstall" button.
      Follow the prompts to uninstall the software.
      Once the software is uninstalled, you can download and reinstall it from the official Radiomaster website. During the installation process, you should be prompted to select the installation location and disk space, so you can ensure that there is enough space available for the installation.

    • @WhirlyBloke
      @WhirlyBloke  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry to hear that you're facing difficulties after upgrading your RadioMaster Zorro and flashing the ExpressLRS ELRS RF module. Firmware upgrades and module flashing can sometimes be challenging, and errors can occur along the way.
      If you're currently unable to bind to your other two quads that also have ELRS, I understand how frustrating that must be for you, so here a few things to have a look at.
      First, make sure to double-check the firmware versions on your RadioMaster Zorro and the ELRS modules. It's essential to ensure they are compatible with each other. Also, verify that you have the latest firmware installed on all your devices.
      Next, check the configuration settings on your RadioMaster Zorro and ELRS modules. It's crucial that they match the required settings for binding and communication. Sometimes, a small configuration mismatch can cause binding issues.
      If the problem persists, try following the correct binding procedure for your quads and the ELRS modules. Going through the binding process step-by-step might help identify any mistakes or missed steps.
      Additionally, if possible, attempt to bind one of your ELRS-equipped quads with a different transmitter. This can help determine whether the problem lies with the RadioMaster Zorro or the ELRS modules themselves.
      Remember, you don't have to face this problem alone. Reach out to the RadioMaster or ExpressLRS communities for support. They have active forums and social media groups where experienced users can offer guidance and help troubleshoot issues like this one.
      I understand that technical difficulties can be frustrating, but with patience and support from the community, I'm confident you'll be able to overcome this setback and get your quads back in the air.
      Best of luck, and I hope you're able to resolve the issue soon!
