Not gonna lie but 75 percent of this was just dom doing stuff on his other screen with emotes and the betting , was waiting to see his reaction to the draft vs jdg or other stuff but oh well
Dom last year : "I don't think you can put it all on them having a player change" Dom now : "I hate the narrative that people don't act like Faker was replaced by Poby" I kinda get his point, T1 was obviously not on their best form, but feels like changing the narrative when he hates changing the narrative is a bit meh idk rest of video was fire tho
"I don't think you can put it all on them having a player change" - describing everyone outside of faker was playing poorly "I hate the narrative that people don't act like Faker was replaced by Poby" - any other team's mid laner being subbed out for another mid with little experience would also likely implode, speaking against the narrative that lifts up faker of being astronomically important where this phenomenon would happen in every team and isn't unique to faker without context those two statements sound contradictory but he's not talking about the same thing. he still believes the team was playing horribly across the board irrespective of poby

1:07:10 I remember in 2020, Damwon absolutely dominated Worlds but no one said that LCK is better than LPL. LCK was literal "One Team Region" at that time.
I don't know about that narrative dom is talking about but i talked to alot of fans including T1 and LCK fans no one ever said korea as a region was better than LPL in 2023
Same. When Poby replaced Faker because of his wrist injury. Everyone was more concerned about Faker healing up, the four left without a seasoned mid laner against the best LCK teams, will they even qualify and how Poby was holding up. No one was talking about results anymore. When a game fails it's the more seasoned players who get the toughest feedback, you leave the newbie alone. 2023 was LPL's year, one of their most competitive with JDG winning games left and right, BLG was not far behind, Sally was hyping up WBG. :) Drop X, that platform is just filled with toxic people who feeds on attention and drama. I only watch YT. YT viewers tend to be more balanced.
I love how Dom pointing out Kanavi misplayed when Ruler on Zeri gets bailed out by Kanavi on toplane chase, entering bard portal, caught shopping in mid by Zeus were not pointed out aside from the overstepping before Faker shuffled him, Enough with the Kanavi slander and put more of the blame on Knight and Ruler
I understand you may be annoyed by it but keep in mind this is on the clips channel for a reason, as in his editor thought it would get views and was just some casual content for his stream inbetween league's break
Difference between 2021 worlds and 2023 worlds was that we all thought dk vs t1 were the real finals cause of how close geng vs edg was. 2-3 against geng who lost to t1 1-3 in summer and 0-3 to damwon. Damwon seemed like the stronger team until finals where they choked but it was still 2-3. On the other hand, t1 2-0, 3-0, 3-1, and 3-0 lpl in worlds 2023. Quite different from 2-3, 2-3 in worlds 2021 no?
@@ericwang865Same way people say t1 choke vs drx. It isnt that deep. Was edg/drx the better team in that series and deserve their win? Yes. But most people favored the other team to win in final hence they thought those team choke. If t1 had lost to wbg last year, that would have been a choke as well considering t1 look miles better than weibo before final. Dk didn’t look miles better than edg before final but most analyst/viewer favor them still.
@oreoyo5639 personally think DK this year specifically were clearly a tournament favorite but many act like they were unbeatable or as dominate as in 2020. You can favor DK but to act like the LPL 1st seed wasn't something to be concerned of, or even if someone thinks they've been playing worse, to act like they couldn't turn it on is crazy to me. Same type of thing for FPX 2021 that year. People know they played like shit in play ins but they were an extremely dominant team in China all year long and just collapsed. I am not rewatching the whole tournament, but to try and summarize, my point is even if someone thinks EDG was playing worse than DK overall up until that point in the tournament, LPL 1st seed going into finals should be respected more by fans and analyst alike, and to view it as a choke from DK I feel is disrespectful to the region and the players
1:06:20 definitely not true. JDG was still widely considered best team in 2023 and LPL was the best region that year. no changing narrative here. just T1 over-performed
bro i know what you mean when you say it wasnt actually exactly how they describe it and leave some stuff out on purpose , but in the end it only want to be a emotional short documentation and i think they dilivered
LPL can't be a better region with all their importing. Doesn't that clearly says our region sucks so we need the best players from the best region to carry us.
A proplayer crying on stage after losing finals is one of the most important things to show on camera, it does so much for the esport. It helps elevate the esport as something with real stakes, that people care about, as something you should take serious in a very emotional way. It builds the narrative and get's people invested, particularly if they run it back and make it far the next year. All of this is hugely important for viewership, which I shouldn't need to explain why that's importnat. It's good for the player breaking down too, or at least their career. It establishes the player and helps them connect and build their fanbase. For most people, there are probably two things that come to mind when you ask them what's faker's most memorable moment; his 1 v 1 vs ryu and him crying at worlds 2017. Most pro players retire without enough money to live the rest of their lives on, so ideally they convert it into a related job like an analyst or, if they have a large enough fanbase, a streamer. I can't imagine counter arguments for them not showing pros crying that come anywhere close to justifying them not showing it
Prob a lot of losers will say "it's just a game". Yeah, there will be replies here that will say "it literally is just a game", or "they're just pressing keys" or say why am I so serious about it or something like "cringe". It's literally becoming predictable LMAO

Then ofc there will be those fans that will be defending their player/team and the chain continues until some fans, or undercover haters disguised as fans, stir up drama commenting controversial things or takes to rile up the haters more and more until they just universally decide it's the fans and they all agree that's why they dislike the player/team.
