    Garmin all the way. Their voice guidance style is unbeatable. Clear, detailed, and plenty of warning before a turn so you're not "that driver" 😉

    If you have a smart phone, why do you need a separate navigation system?

      There are various reasons which can include traveling in areas without cell signal, not wanting to use cell phone data, cell phone could be already in use to entertain others in the vehicle, and more.

      Get an unlimited data service. They're cheap now.
      Doesn't navigation system on your car require satellite signals, too?

      That can resolve one of those situations but not all.
      Built-in GPS does not need a cell signal as it has the GPS mapping data already downloaded into the receiver. The only signal that it needs is the satellite signal to triangulate your location
