This was kind of a transition phase for Jon, on the next album his voice evolves to its final form and it kind of makes ya wish he was able to do that the whole time once you hear it. Also yeah, that's Will rapping and he does that about once an album haha. Glad you feel the DBM vibes, this album feels like such a natural successor honestly!
Jon sounds better here than on his previous two. He changed his technique and it helped a lot. The next album, Acceptance Speech, Jon becomes unrecognizable. He completely hones his craft to perfection and has been doing pretty much that since then. MAKE SURE YOU LISTEN TO "Acceptance Speech 2.0" instead of Acceptance Speech. The original one has really muddy mixing and mastering, so the remastered it as Acceptance Speech 2.0. The biggest difference is that Tilian's vocals are crystal clear, where as in the original, they were very buried and kind of muffled.
@@ggr9745 Zach did start recording parts for this album but when he left Will rewrote all the parts. Some demos do exist on TH-cam featuring Zachs parts. Cant remember which songs tho
This is what I've been waiting for! It's been a long time coming but yeah this album like all the ones before is banger after banger. Will Swan does all the guitar work for this album as well as that rap section that was thrown in here. This album is definitely my favorite in terms of how the instrumentals sound which I give credit to their long time producer Kris Crummet for always making this band sound their best. Acceptance Speech is the only album he didnt produce for them and whoever did do that album had no idea what they were doing. Hence why a lot of people are telling you to do Acceptance Speech 2.0 cause Kris Crummet I believe came in a cleaned it up. But we'll get there when it's time. Until then cant wait for the next vid.
Hell yeah Spooks is awesome, thats Will rapping there haha.Pounce Bounce is next, a short but badass song. Youll love the instrumentals on this album, Matt (the drummer) really shines on DBM2. Cant wait for the next one!
You gotta check out Secret Band they came out around the time this album was in the works. Will, Jon and Matt kill it Secret Band "Black Dolphin" Also Jon does sound different if im not mistaken this is his return after getting lyme Disease thats why he was gone from Happiness
Love the video, also make sure you react to the songs "Perfect" and "People you Knew" off this album. They were both Hot Topic exclusive tracks when this album came out so some people missed them.
This is a super impressive and catchy album, but I honestly never felt the mix on Jon’s vocals were my favorite. I enjoy his work on every other album a lot more.
