For some of us more "senior" watchers - Back when this song first came out, one of the Philly DJs referred to Steve Winwood as the "illegitimate son of Sam and Dave!" Ha-ha!

One of my favorite tunes! Jamel, you are great man! So much fun to see you reacting to these tunes. Reminds me of when i went off to school and my buds taught me about Steely Dan and Led Zeppelin. And I taught them about Average White Band and New Orleans music. Keep em coming!
      Here's a few to consider.
The Meters (aka The Neville Brothers)
      album: Rejuvenation
song: People Say (New Orleans funk)
song: Hey Pocky Way (New Orleans dancin in the street music)
      Jeff Beck
      album: blow by blow
song: Cause we've ended as lovers (you GOT to hear this!)
All Led Zeppelin is good, but do
      album: houses of the holy
song: The Crunge (Led Zep tribute to James Brown)
All Steely Dan is good, but do
      album: The Nightfly
      song: IGY
      album: katy lied
      song: Chain Lightning
      Love ya man!! Peace!

When this song came out, I knew nothing about Steve Winwood. I thought it was kinda poppy and ubiquitous and very eighties, and only later did I discover Traffic and really fall in love with his music. In retrospect, this is quite good.

We were on the stairs going out of the hotel and were going to his car and maybe the stairs were distorting his height to me. He was incredibly nice and gracious and told his manager to make sure I had a ticket waiting for me for the show. It was an awesome open to the tour. I will never forget it. Finally Roll with It!!!
I was 10 years old in the summer of 88 when this song dropped. It got so much air play on MTV (remember that channel that uses to play videos?). It was holding its own with 80’s Power Houses like Def Leppard, GnR, Poison, INXS, etc. Thanks for bringing back the memories Jamel.
