This first one's interesting. Sodium carbonate (aka washing soda and soda ash) has a fairly low pH, so it will sort of "burn" the labels off along with the help of the water to loosen the glue. Seems like it works. That solution can really dry your hands out though! Hopefully no one decides to swap baking soda for washing soda in their next quick bread recipe though, lol.
Peanut butter is silly; it's just abrasive, and it smells. I need CLEAN jars 😆 You can do the same thing with a touch of cooking oil and sand - not unlike liquid sandpaper. Goo Gone is essentially kerosene; somewhat similar to naphtha I think. It works, but it stinks (literally).
Thanks for sharing your ideas! 👍 I've got jars to clean!

I used vinegar 1 tbsp oxy clean 1 tablespoon and submerged by glass jars in the boiling water, the label peeled easily after 15 min, I then took my fingers and literally wiped away the sticky residue. I'm not wasting my peanut butter. I used the leftover hot water and
poured in down the drain. I'm pleased that oxy clean worked better than regular detergent soap.
