Turon (banana lumpia) usually has brown sugar in it. The banana is dipped in the brown sugar then wrapped. Another great video!

Never heard of Crumbl until I watched this video just now. There's a location just a couple of miles from me here in Arizona! 1 of the flavors this week is S'mores! Gooey marshmallow & chocolate! I'm actually not a sweets kinda guy and never have been, however, y'all can make any video entertaining with your lively personalities! Alessandra's is soooo ono, especially if you just want pupus or something small to eat! I love it!! And no EVEN get me started on Kickin' Chicken!! My favorite is their Shoyu (garlic) Chicken with rice plate. OMG...they have the BOMB pickled radish...it is the perfs combo of sweet and vinegar-y!! Oh snap, I hungry now! 😂 Good thing I live right down the road from Ka Makana, can grab the 'ohana, jump in the car, and get our Kanak Attack on. Yes! That’s called turon a banana that is wrapped in egg roll, cooked with brown sugar and sometimes with jackfruit too! Turon is good partner with ube ic cream or vanilla ice cream

I’m so jealous that you guys got to try out Crumbl!!! They just opened when we left Oahu, but there’s always next time 😬 We ate at Koa Pancake House when we were at Ka Makana Aliʻi. If you are down North Shore, check out Chunky Cookies. They sell their cookies at the Kahuku Market Place, PCC Pounders restaurant or their truck by Laie McDs. I think they make the BEST cookies.

Felix didn’t tell us you guys were in Ka Makana Ali’i, but he told us Jerry Rice was there. 🤣 Chocolate chips cookies 🍪 is my favorite too!! Now I need to check out the nearest Crumbl Cookies by my house.

When I make my banana lumpia I put some sugar cinnamon on top the bananas when I roll it up. I know some Filipinos don't use regular bananas and use the Saba bananas which aren't as sweet as regular bananas. Sometimes I also will make chocolate banana lumpia by just adding chocolate chips to the banana.. yum😋 when crumbl first opened up here it was very popular. The only bad part is when you have a favorite one you have to wait till it comes back around and then you don't want to buy just one because it's too expensive. Of course it's cheaper here than there but still expensive for one cookie. Here its like $3.94 for one and $18.76 for 6. So of course the better deal is to get more but sometimes the other ones they have may not be the ones you like so that's the only downfall of that. And now a lot of people stopped eating it too after reports came out about their cookies..🤷🏽♀️
You guys made me broke da mouth Crumbl. Did not think about them becasue its just a block away from home. Needless to say, I'll visit my Crumbl tommorow. Btw, the Bananna Lumpia (Turon) is super sweet because they put a strip or two of jackfruit with the bananna. Cheehoo from mainland!

Boy, Felix and Amanda are going to be up all night in the sugar rush. It's funny watching Amanda anxious to get to the cookie. I've seen the shop since Ruby Tuesday and didn't know what it was but now that I know, I'll have to try some. Next time, review DB Grill with follow up for the Cookie refresh. I'm amazed that you both filmed, reviewed and uploaded so quickly and already got a sizeable audience already. The lumpia shack is good. Every time, Mrs. is there, she gets some. The chicken snack pack looks interesting, which I'll try, but so far Von's Chicken, which is a Korean Street food which they have in Kaimuki, now although in Ewa Beach or in Aiea has good Korean chicken with different toppings. Good reviews. I guess I'm adding a few more places on my Yelp list to remember to try. Thanks.

Shanghai lumpia is the meat one. "Regular" lumpia is the meat with veg.
L & L was my go to living on west side of Oahu. The fish is the best.
That Ruby Tuesday's is better than the mainland ones.

Amanda, I am coming back to Oahu for a nice holiday soon. I haven’t been back since ‘78 so I know everything has really changed. I wanted to know if you could recommend a Korean Kalbi restaurant. When I lived there before we ate at this Korean restaurant that served kalbi which was sliced checkerboard style on the rib not like the cross section L A style most do these days. So, do you have a recommendation for a restaurant that serves this dish? Thanks!

You should try K&K by island snow shave ice in Kailua. It's like L&L but better combinations to choose from 🤙🏼 watch you guys all the time.

@@AmandaFelixEats Most of us enjoyed them. They were very sweet, cakey, and chewy. Unfortunately, my sister likes crunchy, crispy cookies so she didn't care for them...I told her to think of them like cake but she didn't buy that story! I would go back and try more flavors. Loved the lemon cupcake!
You should try the Mexican restaurant there, it’s so good! Taqueria El Ranchero. I was lucky enough to go there twice! I didn’t have the chance to try any other place there. I do like soft cookies.

Fries gets soggy because it gets covered in the container. If they poke some holes on the top it won't get to soggy. Honolulu traffic is worse than LA. L&L mini plates are diiferent sizes in certain stores. Some use a half container and others use a regular size so the food quanity is different.

Second video I've seen where lumpia is spelled as Olympia, lumpy, etc. & lilikoi spelled lily koi & 4 other strange ways & how about pants it or pankit for our Filipino fav?! Auwe!

I've also heard a lot of mixed reviews about Crumbl. I wonder why that is? Are they not consistent? Or are the cookies more of a required taste? Like if you gotta have a high sweet tolerance for it.
Some flavors are sweeter than others and they are soft and chewy. Some people like crunchy cookies
