My son was diagnosed with dyslexia/learning differences and used multi-sensory methods to learn. Henry didn't mention it here, but he authored Hank Zipperer books and more. My son just loved them! Mr. Winkler is a phenomenal storyteller. The tales are humorous and captivating, as my son could relate with some of the awkward situations that the main character, Hank, would find himself in. The act of learning to read and reading became more pleasurable for my son. Tremendous thanks goes to H. Winkler for providing interesting books for these kids who are special.❤️ Thanks, Henry. You are special!!❤️

I know the feeling. I've had people laugh and make fun of me because of my spelling test scores. I have been diagnosed with dyslexia. It's more than just reading out loud for me. It makes me not say what I'm thinking quick enough to get people to listen. But, I'm thankful for it... Because without dyslexia, I wouldn't be me. 😄

I grew up in the 70’s and my mom told my I was dyslexic after getting my eyes and hearing tested and a doctor told her that’s all it could be. As far as I know there were no such thing as help or accommodations back then. I eventually thought (for some reason) that I had grown out of it, which of course isn’t a thing. I’ve struggled all my life with simple things, although I’ve become a published author and illustrator. I recently was also diagnosed with ADHD and I’m trying to look back on my life and figure things out. I just wanted to say, “Thanks Fonzie, you’re still cool in my book, and knowing what you went through, you give me some strength to keep being cool too!” Ya know…aaaaayyyyy!👍

I don't understand. This is not the same video we just watched on T.V. on January 22, 2017. Where is Henry's wife, where are the clicks from Happy Days?

Why didn't he just tell these people he had dyslexia? Or he didn't know?

People didn't know when we were children, and even today, 2/3 of children I misdiagnosed with Learning Disabilities. Dyslexia, Vision Tracking, etc., are silent disorders. We don't see the letters or words flipping or fading out. We don't know what's wrong.

My dyslexia wasn't fully picked up until I was at university. When reading aloud I would skip words, swap words over or put random words in which weren't there (among other things). A very odd thing that helped was to turn the book upside down and read it like that. It didn't stop me making mistakes but it did help reduce them. I still do read aloud with the book or page upside down. Reading a book upside down also freaks people out on a train.
