It's a moving song, and the end of S6 was pretty emotional too. Thanks for the comment, it's nice to know I'm not the only one affected by this stuff haha.
@@Crazygreg757 So this video came back up in my recommended list and I re-watched it with my wife. She teared up pretty quickly and wants to watch the rest of the show now.
I just finished the show for the second time and this video made me feel warm and fuzzy inside, even if I'm not in a really warm and fuzzy phase. They are endgame and if Dan Harmon don't make this movie and have them ending up together I will revolt!
I'm glad you liked it! It's been so long since the end of the show, I don't know if we'll ever get the movie, though Joel seemed optimistic after the table read the cast did over Zoom. But if the movie does ever get made, then yes, J/A need to be together!
After watching so many of these fan videos, I finally got around to actually watching the series. I must admit that the ending kiss with Annie, where she said, I have a feeling if you don't kiss me now, you'll regret it for the rest of your life, was some kind of cruel joke or some serious ego on her part, as it seemed like she was leaving for good, no chance of her coming back. So, I couldn't figure out the point of her saying that or the kiss, other than to show him what he lost. But after watching the series and seeing it in context, I am more convinced than ever that it WAS Annie, still hoping and wanting something to happen, but she NEEDED him to make a move, give her something to hold on to while she's away. So, I just see it in a very different light, much more hopeful. That being said, any other show or writer, I would say for sure they end up together in the movie. But, taking into account all of Dan's hangups and his admitted distaste for having couples be together in his shows and his admitted lack of ability to write romantic narratives, I HOPE he doesn't screw us all over and not put them together. FFS, higher a writer who IS comfortable with developing romance if he needs to. The ONLY reason I watched the series was for Jeff and Annie, and was quite disappointed, 6 season and so little progress, so few scenes of them advancing their relationship. Basically, a starvation diet, just enough to keep you interested and going. Any other writer could have done so much more with them. Hopefully the movie fixes all that.
@@jisfl7976 Wow this is really how I feel what would have happened if they did date in the show. Like they are great for a while, until Annie feels she needs to grow up/ mature on her own ( going to DC or something) and after a while Jeff wins her back. I have to admit that I'm okay with their ending, it's realistic ( not everyne gets a happy ending) and it really felt right with the plot/ character development at the end of the series. But yeah I also keep wondering ''what if?"
@@X_nien_vh and it fit nicely with Jeff and Annie's character arcs from Season 1. Jeff was the one who couldn't wait to leave Greendale. Annie lied with her Disney Princess face to try to get them all to stay at Greendale & Senor Chang's class a little longer. S6 comes in and it's reversed. Jeff is the one having a crisis of all his friends leaving him to go follow their big opportunities while he stays at Greendale as a community college professor. But he finally accepts it in the end, with Annie's help, sealed with a kiss.
hmm as much as I love Jeff and Annie but I dont really think they were ready to date before the finale, they didnt fully grow up yet. But I think after season 6, they're ready. Not to mention that Annie did say that here internship was only 10 weeks and Annie is still technically a student who has an unfinished college degree and her internship is only ten weeks, iirc I dont think the fbi hires interns who are students, they just send them back to college. It would be incredibly unrealistic if she got a job straight away and didnt come back to Greendale
It's 2019 now I watched all of the seasons for the first time within the past week I just finished 6:13 and Jeff and Annie is the saddest thing because at the end the only thing that was stopping Wem was themselves
It's 2022 now. This was a fantastic video. The song is so fitting I think. My feeling is that Annie never came back to Jeff. Sad I know. Still no movie on the horizon to resolve the show.
ugh!!! No offense to whoever made a say something video first, but your's is 10 times better, mainly because of the way you included that last episode. Thank you so much for this!
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it! Although, to be fair, the first 'Say Something' video was made prior to S6, so including the last episode wasn't an option for them. That's why I felt compelled to make an update :-)
Haha, no, I didn't mess with the song at all. I think that's just the power of suggestion. I did another video where the words Anything and Anyone suddenly sound like Annie-thing and Annie-one lol
I think this song fits better with season 1-5 because at the season 5 finale, Annie starts to give up on Jeff but Jeff starts to open his heart to her, whether in the season 6 finale, it feels hopeful, not doomed because when Jeff kissed Annie and when he confessed, she regained her hope and thats why she said "too many variables"
Well, the way I'm using the song in this video is that the lyrics are almost like a plea from Annie to Jeff to finally admit how he feels. She tries numerous times throughout seasons 2-5 to get him to admit his feelings for her, and eventually basically gave up on him after the finale of season 5 (let each other want what we want). But then in the final episode, Jeff finally "said something." So, while the song is rather melancholy, in this context I'm using it to kind of show the direction they were heading until Jeff finally confessed. And I did intend for the ending of the video to be hopeful, so I hope if comes across that way.
@@Crazygreg757 I agree with you man, I feel so sorry for Annie because Jeff kept on downplaying their relationship and he kept on denying it without knowing that it hurt actually hurt Annie. But I also feel sorry for Jeff too, he lived in denial for so long, trying to pretend their relationship was strictly platonic but the moment when Annie gave up and close the door to her heart, Jeff opened the door to his heart too late. In season 6 Jeff was like depressed because he had to stop everything with Annie and his faces in season 6 were filled with love and emotion, but he couldnt act on it and we see in the wedding episode, we learn that he's barely even handling it. Whats the most saddest thing is the ending when he realised that he fought off Annie so hard that now he's actually losing her. He felt like his chance with Annie was doomed but when Annie asked him to kiss him, she's basically confirming if Jeff loves her and does Jeff want her or something, then after that their relationship didnt really felt doomed anymore, it just felt hopeful. Jeff and Annie's love story is the most beautiful and most tragic love story I've seen in tv. Your video is beautiful and sorry that I misunderstood your video and the message that you were trying to convey.
It's from the series finale, S6, episode 13. The clip is from a fantasy of Jeff's. In it, he and Annie are married and have a son. But Jeff seems to be projecting the dynamic from his own childhood onto his imagined marriage with Annie. Deep down, he knows Annie wouldn't be happy as the traditional, stay-at-home mom, so the fantasy breaks down. I think it's important to note that unlike the finale of season 5, where he was willing to be miserable forever with Britta because it's "what people do," he cares about and respects Annie too much for that. That's certainly not to say that I think they'd be miserable together if they were in a relationship. It's pretty clear from throughout the show that Jeff has a damaged and warped perspective on marriage, and doesn't understand the all the possibilities it entails. Annie has always been the more emotionally healthy of the two, and I think she could show him those possibilities.
@@fuzzycuddlebearthatsmells2746 Well, the way Dan Harmon put it was "uncertain, but hopeful for the future." They have a kiss at the end of the series finale and Dan confirmed that they're in love with each other. But they're not officially in a relationship, and Annie is heading to DC for her FBI internship. Presuming she returns to Greendale after the internship (it seems like she has not completed her degree in forensic science), then I don't know why they wouldn't try a relationship, but we won't know for sure unless there's a movie... Of course, there's plenty of good fan fiction that can help fill that gap :)

The only tv show couple that was endgame. That movie better come out soon and show us they’re together
lmao Annie casually walks into men's bathroom, probably having stalked and waited for Jeff to finish XD
