This video was super helpful. I just purchased the VL300 like 5 min after watching the conclusion of this video. I shoot weddings and commercial and the power you explained can be attenuated for receptions and boosted for commercial shoots. I appreciate your wisdom and explanation.
Hi Alex! 1 year later I just found your video as I'm on the brink of buying a continuous light for wedding reception. Loved your demo on the VL150 for speeches and special dances but I have 1 question for you. Would you recommend two VL150's for lighting reception dancing photos (not just special dances?) Would they be enough? Thanks so much! LEO
Do you think the FV150 or FV200 would be good to use for a photobooth? I'm running a DSLR Photobooth and want something all in one. I don't want to use the traditional ring lights that most people use, and you need a constant light to help focus in dark receptions, with flash to capture. So I'm thinking the FV150/200 might be a perfect solution.
Nice video. I jusy got the 150 for general use, but have been asked to shoot a wedding for my cousin and was wondering how you manage mixed colour lighting at weddings? Is it a case of manually adjusting kelvin and colour grid?
very instructive review. I think I will go for VL150 due to weight. Just wondering if it's possible to power up the VL200 and VL300 with only one battery or it won't power on at all?

This is coming from a VL150 user, Ive been filming with that workhorse for a year now and I must say it never failed me once!!
I believe this is a little out of sync...
I notice that I might have to re upload
Just bought the FV200
This video is just what I needed. Thanks so much
No problem!

Thanks for your review!
Not a problem

I would suggest a strobe flash
@@PortlandEventFilms Any specific one since I need one that has a modeling light to help with dark receptions for focusing and monitoring reasons.
@@ScarmackProductions I have a neewer 200 and 300 for my Photobooth
@@PortlandEventFilms Right on! So the FV150/200 would be a little overkill then haha. Appreciate your insight, thank you!
Great video! What V mount batters are you using for the VL300? I see they are Neewer but are they the 159wh/10400 mAh?

@@PortlandEventFilms Thanks!
As a photographer primarily and for studio work, would you get the FV200 over the VL200? Makes more sense to me but just in case
There is also no big power brick

You need 2 batteries this is why I went with the VL150
Hey, between the 300 and 150 besides the extra battery does the 300 give a better output power? More light over all or is it close to the same?
It's alot more output.
How is the volume for the fv150
Fan Noise?
@@PortlandEventFilms yes
@@himesjon I can't hear it.
