In the Anthracite Railroads in the 70’s series, we look at the ailing operations of the Hard Coal Carriers in the final years before their inclusion into Conrail.
In Volume 4, we’ll view the last years of operations of the Reading Railroad on the Bethlehem Branch, the East Penn Branch from the Allentown Bethlehem area to Reading and from Reading to Trenton, New Jersey in the final years leading up to Conrail

I tried to reply to RWSBaden's comment, but it does not appear here. 4 axle EMDs do make transition. There are several pages with diagrams and photos explaining the process of transition in the GP-9 EMD manual - which is a 4 axle unit
Did Mike Bednar ever knew a guy named Paul Geiger, because I have his dvd "Conrail's Beginning" since he used to work for Clear Block Productions like Kenneth Bealer. So I wondered since Mike knows Kenneth Bealer then maybe he knows Paul Geiger.

Ya know? Those pre Conrail roads really tried. They really did, but the deck was just stacked against them. There just was no non Conrail solution.
