Any "concealed carry" flashlights need to be surrendered at the entrance to the property together with measuring tape and hidden ladders. A laser level or level bar is likewise prohibited. You may not use a thermal camera or any device that could uncover hidden defects. Obviously this is all done for protection and safety 🤪
Torches are a no-no. The bright light could fade the paint.

My Father did a seven year apprenticeship. He’s currently 76 and is now doing soft jobs for his age. He has said, that a tradesman worth is his salt., would ensure his name would not be in disrepute after the job was done. In other words, leave the job properly executed to perfection. He is a tradesman. How I long for that standard in Australia.
I work in commercial cleaning, always do a top notch job, and I do it for meself, not so much for my employer. It's about having pride in ones work.
I didn't know you could do an apprenticeship at such an advanced age, just goes to show that it's never too late to learn new things!

Hi I'm a HC Truck driver from Sydney Australia and I really enjoy your videos.
The Victorian Building Authority (VBA) has a 1.6 star rating on Google. That is to be expected because I recently watched one of your videos of a Lady that paid over 40k for a completely defective job, also got the VBA involved and nothing was done about it.
Why was $40k handed over for a completely defective job?
Wouldnt the logical thing to do be to have pointed out the parts of the job that are sub par, in writing? And to have with held progress ma
payment until rectified? I understand not everyone is a building inspector or doesn't have in-depth construction knowledge but at some point people need to take some responsibility.
Crying victim and expecting an under funded government department to sort out incompetent scamming contractors (that the customer chose to engage) and customers that are dumb as dog shit is deluded.

Although I suspect it’s quite a house of cards given the already unfavourable demand supply and no government wants to be the one to topple it

@@alg9450 In case you didn't know. HC means heavy combination which requires you to hold a HC class Heavy vehicle Licence. Truck and trailer and it's my occupation.

It looks so shit and i love my client and want him to get the best. Im going to talk to him about getting you on.

you need to carry builder approved torches and you cannot walk in with your desired torches lol
Any builder that refuses entry to the Inspector should immediately be investigated by the Builder's Association and a building audit conducted by Council.

The only thing would be chooaing the right ladder, fibreglass/platform/step/whatever else, for the right job. I have one of those steel ladders and its sturdt as hell, and also heavy as hell.

These builders low balling quotes to clients and then trying to maximizing profits via cheap labor, cheap material or just quick low quality work with no due care. Industry needs to change so that the costings for major parts of the build are uniform and are checked at each stage before they can proceed to reduce the chance of inflated rework costs. Then they can try to maximize their profits on the non critical work like aesthetics, painting etc.

Clearly this guy is not confident in the work completed but I'm guessing, would be happy to pass it over to a family to deal with after the fact.
If you get on the roof on a construction site, even if you are doing inspections you need a SWMS.
Its a shame they dont allow men to sign a waiver at 18 saying 'im responsible for myself under all circumstances and reserve the right to refuse duty at my sole discretion'. This kills both the parasitic 'safety' industry and parasitic insurance industry.

Why would that bloke whether he was a builder or not of that property have a go at a site inspector that would clearly know the rules before attempting to making a fool of yourself on camera...
Because the site manager was completely right.
He did not have the right ladder for the job nor any fall prevention measures.
Even when he got on the step ladder to try measure gutter fall with his level he was breaching safe work practice by climbing his step ladder to high.

What's there to be nervous about? Do a proper job and you'll have no worries. In my field we get random audits and compliance work checks all the time to the point we don't even think about it. Christ if Joe Public sees something that might look odd even if it's fine they can ring Energy Safe and have them on our backs to check up on possible issue.
