0:03 Absolutely astounding explanation! I would have never EVER figured it out! You have my eternal respect my fellow magician friend! God bless you! Your inteligence is amazing! Wow!
Good morning sir, please reveal the secrets of following tricks. We have no idea how tricks are done. 1- "Newspaper prediction " Lawrence Gregory.2- Fishing Hook from mouth (mentalism effect)3- Deal or no deal (card and money) mental magic. 4- Cut or no cut ( Newspaper restoration) magic. Thank you so much .
I actually figured out the counting part leading to the queens and aces being in position but it seemed so obvious that I thought I had to be wrong or else Penn and Teller would have figured it out instantly! In fact, I still keep thinking that what's actually happening isn't the same as the way I'm thinking it is!
@@jimmynuccini8783 That's a very good point you make. Chris Capehart is their old friend, and he definitely knows the exact rules of the show as well. I wouldn't be surprised if he deliberately set up that last part of the trick for maximum impact on the audience reaction, even knowing that Penn and Teller would figure that part out. He knows that it's still a successful "Fooled Us" because they likely wouldn't figure out the first part from a single demonstration. If so, that would make his mastery of showmanship even more impressive.
It may be a self working card trick, but someone had to think it up and practice it until it worked flawlessly. I tend to throw shuffles and cuts into a self working card trick just to make it a little bit more difficult for people to work out.
The first part seemed obvious that there was an arrangement and responses based on what the say. Especially when it was 23, and he chose 24. It was already obvious he would have chose 24 if they had said 24. Which is a valid trick, but should be obvious to anybody who knows what they're doing. The only major problem was flat out saying in advance not going to shuffle. Which implies stacked deck. Same with the second trick. I actually didn't figure that one out right away. And feel bad because it's super obvious which I probably would if I watched it again and spent a bit of time analyzing it. But those professionals should not have been fooled by this.
What i first noticed about this trick when i saw it a while back, was that if the people(Penn and Teller in this case) had chosen higher numbers(say they chose 9 every time) i think he would have run out of cards, since he only had four left at the end.
1. He counts from back - 10, 9, 8.. and so on 2. He counts from start 1, 2, 3.. 10+1, 9+2, 8+3 and so on is always 11 So they choosing 9 everytime means he only put 1 card on the table and have 10 in his hands for each section.
5:35 "Make spectator place one Joker card below the 44th card and the other Joker above the 44th card." I'd imagine there are not too many safe ways to do that. 🤔
i take 10% only of your first explanation for the card in a shoe part, if there are 16 combinations between two numbers from 1 to 4, the trick isn't about arranging the cards only but only knowing how to arrange them in a short period of time, without knowing the two numbers that where to be used, you would probably need slight of hands to pick out the right deck of cards
If selection was 44, do you think that Chris wouldn’t not have asked Penn to return the cards while counting? How do you manage the appearance of the 7H on 34th position?
This trick will not work if they would have said stop at one. Because that would be the tenth card or ace. Now you can only place one card down. The queen. But the ace is now mixed in with the blank cards ruining the set up and trick. That's why Chris got nervous when TELLER told him to stop at 2. He lucked out.
But that way trick only works if he chooses the 9th card or the 2nd card etc. What if penn had said 2 for that 1st nmbr, the 3rd card that he'd lay down as a queen wouldve been blank?
Ok, let's say I do this trick to a random person. The majority of these random ppl will shuffle the cards, and when you tell them not to shuffle the cards, they will do it anyway.... so then what?? The trick is ruined
If you do it for your friends they'll probably be dicks and shuffle whether you like it or not, but if you present yourself to strangers as a magician and them as mere spectators you will command a certain awe from them and they most likely won't dare defy your instructions -- unless maybe they're drunk in which case they'll also probably be dicks...
He doesn't have Penn go through the entire deck. _He constructs the performance so that this is the impression left in spectators' minds._ After Penn has counted 23 cards and put one to the side, Chris says "You saw the whole deck" (which isn't true), and then asks him to "turn the rest of them over", but in fact he only lets Penn turn over a few more cards before he starts rushing him, implying that Penn doesn't understand his instructions. Then he takes the cards away from Penn, saying "I'll take 'em for you, obviously you have issues". He get's a good laugh for this, and at the end, most spectators "remember" that Penn went through the whole deck, although it never happened.
No, because the dealer is counting down from 10. No matter when you say 'stop', it will always be that number burnt away from A and Q, and later from the four "Master of the Mind" cards. I wasn't sure abou the math on the first trick but this one I knew right away.
your Explanation doesn't do justice to the magic. and this explanation will only be valid if chris has penn and teller in on his act. Cos if they choose other numbers instead of the ones they choose then the explanation becomes void.
It's weird that Pen and Teller are so bad with self working card tricks. I didn't get it also when i watched it, but the explanation is very simple, and an experienced magician should have notice Chris always placing the 10th and 11th card, no matter when they stop him.

@@lennon1252 Remember that the ace part kind of came out of nowhere and wasn't an integral part of the trick. On the rare chance that someone picked a one I think that part would simply be eliminated from the trick. On the other hand if that happened I don't know what you would do about getting the aces out of the way to show off all the blank cards at the end...
i am more impressed for the effort made revealing this trick. so cool
Glad you liked it!
Brilliant! Thank you!

This is in all honesty the easiest trick to figure out ever done on the show. I can't believe p and t didn't figure this out

I mean, they probably could have figured that part out but to not have been fooled, they'd have to explain how he did the first part as well.

Phenomenal explanation! Thanks so much for this!!

Yes it makes the act more convincing
I do card tricks and I already knew the cards were setup. Anytime they don’t shuffle the deck first, the cards are setup, basic card magic.
Not necessarily anytime they don't shuffle its a set up deck....
Doing card tricks you never heard of false shuffles? 😂
How did Penn and Teller not know this?
@7521eric they knew how it was done, but gave him the trophy anyway.. our of respect
@@MyTardisGoWhoosh makes sense.
thanks, this is inspiring
Interesting, thanks
Thanks for watching!
Very impressive!!!
Thank you! Cheers!

The queen part was so easy, I guessed it after viewing it only once.
What i first noticed about this trick when i saw it a while back, was that if the people(Penn and Teller in this case) had chosen higher numbers(say they chose 9 every time) i think he would have run out of cards, since he only had four left at the end.
It doesnt matter what they choose, he always gets rids of 11 cards, what i question what would have happened if one of them stopped at 1
1. He counts from back - 10, 9, 8.. and so on
2. He counts from start 1, 2, 3..
10+1, 9+2, 8+3 and so on is always 11
So they choosing 9 everytime means he only put 1 card on the table and have 10 in his hands for each section.
I figured out the 2nd part on my own. I didnt know the 1st, but what i cant figure out is what if penn or teller had chose 1 on the 2nd half?
Well dont forget, he is counting backwards from 10, dealing them. So if one of them chose one the queen would be put on and then drop the ace below.
Subscribed dear friend! Excellent way of explanation!

5:35 "Make spectator place one Joker card below the 44th card and the other Joker above the 44th card." I'd imagine there are not too many safe ways to do that. 🤔
Nice reveal. Familiar with both of these methods. But still a wonderful performance. 👍😊👍😊
Thank you very much!

“They’re thinking he’s not Chinese”🤣
Thanks bro!❤
I am sure the 2nd trick was meant as a joke. Like, come on.
Damn.. subscribed and liked..
wonderful magic😂😂😂❤❤❤

Everything explained in this video
Awesome work bro ❤❤❤❤

Yes..he slowed down intentionally
Modern day Val Valentino. IYKYK.
It's not simple. You have to memorize these combinations.
I'm sure you must be a magician yourself 😊
I have a question, what if penn and teller chose different stop positions? How would have that work?
This is a self working card trick. Just arrange the deck as told and it will work.
But that way trick only works if he chooses the 9th card or the 2nd card etc. What if penn had said 2 for that 1st nmbr, the 3rd card that he'd lay down as a queen wouldve been blank?
if the last choice was 1 then there would be no ace and one ace among blanks
last part still doesnt make sense ,,what if there where no cards left ,,or just one card left
Penn & Teller fooled by self working card trick 😂😂😂😂
No. They wanted to provide a trophy for their longtime friend.
LOL So that's why Molly McGee doesn't like close up magic! hahaha
Were Penn and Teller lying about being fooled?
Ok, let's say I do this trick to a random person. The majority of these random ppl will shuffle the cards, and when you tell them not to shuffle the cards, they will do it anyway.... so then what?? The trick is ruined
If you know how to do false shuffle you can do that.. otherwise no shuffling
You palm the deck and swap it for a stacked deck
If you do it for your friends they'll probably be dicks and shuffle whether you like it or not, but if you present yourself to strangers as a magician and them as mere spectators you will command a certain awe from them and they most likely won't dare defy your instructions -- unless maybe they're drunk in which case they'll also probably be dicks...

First part is wrong. Chris had Penn go through the entire deck and turn all cards over to show there was only 1 7 of hearts in the deck.

You lying it's not the way you think
Your explanation makes no sense on the second trick. To achieve what u are saying, he would have had to use slight of hand to deal out of order
No, because the dealer is counting down from 10. No matter when you say 'stop', it will always be that number burnt away from A and Q, and later from the four "Master of the Mind" cards.
