Well that is a beauty of a build! I've helped my brother with his sail boat, and bueyl tape seems to be the 'go to' in the marine industry. That said, they're also bitching about leaks all the time. I've always wanted a cargo trailer/toy hauler/camper conversion, which is how I found you guys. Rather than just an awning, I think I'll do one of those 'add-a-room' kits. Into that I'll add a stove jack so I can run a small wood stove. Gives a bunch of cheap climate controlled'ish square footage, and I just love wood heat - smells great and the fire looks cool too.
Means a lot! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 we aren’t trying to put anyone out of business by any means, just trying to be different and stand out in our own unique ways. It will never be a mass production gig though like the big names, we want to take our time for each one and keep it quality over quantity. 🙌🏻🇺🇸
Thanks for the great video. I am about to try this same approach on my camper. Are you happy with how the Titebond adhesive has held up over time so far?
Love the siding have a camper I need done. But why not have the rubber roof overlap the crown flashing? Fasteners are on the side less chance I water leaking in from the roof.
Thanks for watching! The reason we put the crown flashing over the rubber roof was to hold it down tight for travel. When the screw goes through the rubber and squeezes the track down it acts as a gasket, then there’s a little rubber strip that you pop into the crown track to hide/seal all the screws. Worked out pretty well.
What a great idea, wondering why you didn't use the filon on the roof? Im not a fan of the rubberized roofing. Thinking of building a light wieght overland type camper (7x 7 on my 1/2ton and keeping the shell under 800lbs, is this possible? Looked like an air suspension on the last episode, always wanted that on my travel trailer for that last stretch of rough road, where can I locate such a thing? Thanks for your help.
If you said I apolgize for not catching it , but what did you use to construct the walls and roof? I want to reskin my rv and was going to use AZDEL instead of luan as the luan is breaking apart and delaminating from the foam.
All we had to do was screw a 2x4 to the wall and make sure it was level at the height we wanted to stop the filon for the diamond plate, and the filon just rested on that while it dried. We used a flooring roller to roll out the air bubbles and make sure it was all stuck good. That was it! 😁
Nope! There are some bumps here and there along the wall but thats just from the way we put it on. It bonded so good that when we cut the windows out, we tried to pull the filon off of the foam board and it was impossible. Literally took the top layer of the foam board off with it. That glue is no joke.
That’s so clean man ❤❤❤❤❤
I have a feeling you guys are going to be busy replicating this bad boy!

Very nice! Great craftsmanship well done guys. Can't wait to see that inside.
Can't wait for the next video. That shack looks amazing
That’s the sickest fish house in the country probably lol

At the end of this build u should do a total cost video so everyone kinda gets an idea on if it’s possible for someone else to build something like it

Did you have to brace the filon somehow for a while with that glue? I need to replace the filon on my camper, and im not a fan of contact cement.

Did you have any problem with filon showing imperfections on surface underneath?

Oh ya baby
