Thanks for the tour of things we only hear about in US and never get to see....stay safe on your travels
Yes it's really old been there many times about 10years ago there was a fire that consumed the west pier wich is walking distance from Brighton pier
Wow. It’s quite large, isn’t it? Lovely view from the pier. Thanks for the tour!
Watching your Brighton videos today has really lifted my mood 🙂
I love your Those Two Brits videos! I just wish they were longer! They all seem to end so soon.
I used to go to Lowestoft pier as a child. Loved it! This is way bigger, looks like a lot of fun!
I think the Tim Burton filmed on the pier was in "Sweeney Todd." I think the song was "Down by Sea."
Putting Brighton on my bucket list for England. Great video! Thanks kids!!!!! 🤗
This reminds me of the Santa Monica Pier and Santa Cruz, and Pier 39 in SanFrancisco, all 3 are in California. Coney Island has similar vibes too.
How I love those two Brits!❤
Thanks for taking us along as that was very scenic.
Joel and Lia I enjoyed watching this, at one point there was something similar near my home city it was called Crystal Beach, it sadly is no more but ,there are similar places near New York city. It looks quite fun for family's with young children. Thanks for sharing other areas of Britain.
Glad to see "you two Brits" up and running again in this format. Having been to Cambridge, is it safe to assume you'll soon do Oxford as well? Salisbury/Stonehenge? Bath? Edinburgh would be wonderful.
Brighton is so nice. It reminded me of my hometown in New York- Rockaway Beach.
That looks like a very nice spot to visit. Have you considered showing places that have been used in movies or TV shows? I don’t know about others (maybe you could take a poll for interest) but i think it would be interesting. Like the show A Discovery of Witches is based on characters in England and a huge focus is around The Bodleian library at Oxford University. The show (books are more in-depth) spends a lot of time in Europe.
Quadrophenia is such a classic film, all those Mods and Rockers! Thank you for sharing your fun day in Brighton. That ice cream looked yummy and now I'm craving soft serve. How about a walk near the White Cliffs of Dover? I really love this channel!
Loved the video! Tour of the Cotswold would be a dream to watch😻
Somewhat geographically challenged. Would love to see a brief map whenever you go somewhere, as a point of reference. Brighton looks like a fun place to visit!
Nice video! I only visit the pier to watch the starling murmurations during the winter evenings.
I went last Winter as I was there to see a pop up shop and had some time to kill. Most of the shops were not open and was quite desolate but that was fine even if it appeared a bit eerie. Things slowly opened up and there was a small scream from a girl as a seagull had swooped down and stole her pretzel. I enjoyed it!
What beautiful place. Thanks for the tour! ❤️xoxo❤️
Looks so fun. Wonder how it compares to the Santa Monica pier when you went last year. You're really making me want to travel there.
I would LOVE to be there, too!! Thanks for sharing! ♥
Just two cousins having a great time...LOL!!!
We love Brighton, the pier on a summers day... Can't be beat ☺️🍦
Thanks for sharing guys, very interesting commentary as well!
The salt and pepper shaker ride is my absolute favorite!
Thanks for the trip to Brighton. One place I haven't been in the UK. I love touring the UK ... the architecture, the people, the history!
PS. Ideas:
The Romans in England
The Norman Conquest
The Domesday Book
Castles in the UK
County/Shire tours
The Neighborhoods/Districts of London: shops, restaurants, hotels, historic sites
Shakespeare
Democracy in the UK ... starting with Salisbury and the Magna Carta (?)
The Great Families of the UK: landed gentry, dukes, earls, etc.
Museums
The pre-Windsor Royal Families
Cannot have too much history!
Hi Joel and Lia, I grew up in SoCal, this is My type of Place! So Beautiful ❤ Sadly, I don't live in a State with a Coast Line. Good thing Gulf Coast isn't too far from Oklahoma. Btw, Anyone, who wonders "What Candy Floss is?" It's Cotton Candy in The States. I hope you both had a relaxing & enjoyable Holiday/Vacation! Blessings from a longtime Sub/Viewer of ALL your Channels,
Piper
Candy floss/cotton candy is my favorite!
It's funny to see it from this perspective, I just quit working on the pier a couple of weeks back. If you look at the worker's faces a bit closer you'll see how incredibly depressed and exhausted they all are! ;)
Lovely 😊. I know of 2 films made there. My accomplice and Brighton Rock. I really would love 💕 to go there. Thank you both for my virtual trip 😉👍
I went on the slingshot at night it was fun :) don't think I would do that 11 years later lol
Love traveling with you guys!
I love a good hike. Would love if you found a nice trail you wanted to share. Love you guys, keep it up
Thanks, you two, that was fun and a good length! (The vid, not the pier) ♡
I have family in Sussex. My cousin worked in (wait for it (Lia))... CHICHESTER!! Brighton is an odd little city. That pavilion is weird. Had fun there many times.
As Always... great video ! 😊
I think the film 'a monster calls' was also filmed in Brighton
I would love it there! 😍
I am early. I am never this early because of the time difference between the uk and nz!!
Beautiful beach 👍🏻
Excellent
Brighton rock.
very nice guys excellent work keep it up!
Did you have a go round the Lanes shopping?
What about the castle or oriental palace in brighton to visit.
Would love to see some "leaf peeping" walkies.
Agree!
It rains too much here in the UK during Autumn for anything to look nice haha
With or without covid, the water is always blue on a normal day because the sea isn't rough and churning up the sand and pebbles haha Your brighton videos are proper making me miss home because im away at uni ahh
The chain pier was the first pier in Brighton, built in 1823,destroyed by fire in 1896.
This is much better than Brighton Beach in NYC 😂
I would love to see the Buckingham palace tour
Would love to see you two in Salisbury! My BFF and her family live there and I miss them (I'm in Canada) ;(
The way Lia said "Quadrophenia" made me feel old !! lol
@Jimmy Jams She's just young. *sigh*
@Jimmy Jams I keep telling myself that when I hit my midlife crisis, I'm going to get me a Vespa. LMAO !!
Sadly, the dislike for arcades and carnival rides is a sign of getting old. Oldsters prefer more quiet and peaceful recreation. Take care of yourselves.
YOUR TEETH! What did you have done to them? Any suggestions to make them all white and sparkly? Thanks!
The pier has the best marzipan in all England!
LMAO at both stopping for a rest on a 15 min walk. Skinny divas
How could you just walk past the Zoltar?! Missed opportunity, yall!
❤️❤️❤️
Is Hadrian's Wall to far or William Shakespeare's house
What is stuck in Joel's ice cream? It looks like a pepperoni stick... o.O
I work there working here isn’t as fun as actually going there for fun night for the day out it can be quite nerve wracking and tiring.
👍👍Arcades my be the thing to avoid right now.
Factoid: It was the Palace Pier originally then became known as the Brighton Pier. There was a call for it to be renamed the Palace Pier but as the pier is known as Brighton Pier worldwide for branding purposes - they went with the compromise of the Brighton Palace Pier.
A conspiracy theory says that old owners of the Pier arranged for the fire that killed off the West Pier when plans were afoot to rebuild it as competition. :D
IT'S NOT FREE anymore, since May 2024 they now charge an entrance fee. Go to Eastbourne its free and more sunny
Why walk though the arcade when you can walk around it outside?🧐🤔
Oh I do love a 99p flake ice cream cone, which is not even 99p anymore. It’s more like £2 now so I don’t even buy them any more.
Ash P - I've often wondered what a 99 Flake was. Is the 'flake' that thing sticking up that looks like it might be a chocolate churro, but I have no idea.
Yes it’s a milk chocolate stick with a flaky texture a bit like a log. They stick one in the ice cream snowcone. Traditionally you can have a topping of drizzle of raspberry sauce and a sprinkle of nuts. You can buy the chocolate stick called a flake separately in almost all supermarkets.
@@ashp5597 - Thanks for that. I'll look around for them here in the States. I'm in NY, not the city, but I'll probably find them. You can get pretty much anything here.
I've heard of a 99Flake dozens of times, always from Brits, but it was never explained, as if everyone just knows what it is, and now I do also. Much appreciated.
Obviously, until this J&L vid, I had never seen one. I bet they'd go over well here.
dobie bloke no problem, any time. I hope you find them.
@@ashp5597 - Thanks, and not to be a pain, but does 'a bit like a log', mean a sort of cracker/biscuit thing? Log is a term not often used here regarding food.
We have 'cheese logs', usually rolled in diced nuts, usually for the Holidays, meaning Christmas or so, but they are available year 'round as well. Otherwise, I can't think of a use of 'log' defining food items, over here. Two nations, seperated by a common language.
So bizarre...I guess England not worried about the pandemic anymore???? How long ago was this filmed??? Where I live in SF this would be out of the question. I'm almost jealous, but mostly just scared for you all.
It looks lovely except for the "beach" I don't know how you stand sitting on those rocks. It was like that in Italy too, we were not fans of the rock beach.
Actually, the pier is painted with paint, not varnish.
Lia you look so good.
Are they not requiring you to wear masks outside on the pier? No judgement, just wondering what it’s like in different places.
We don't have to wear masks outside in the UK - only in shops and on public transport:).
Darren79 Ok, thanks!
Only sheep wear masks,
Cotton candy 🤢🤮
Siblings or dating ?
Where the heck are the masks and social distancing on the pier itself? I'm TRIGGERED.
I hate to be that guy but here we'd all have to wear masks lol
