- I had so much fun comparing the Glisten Cosmetics Spectra Paints to the About Face Beauty matte fluid eye paints! Like I said in the video, I definitely don't think any of these shades are exact dupes for each other because the formulas vary so much but I'd love to hear which ones you like best! By any chance have you tried the NYX eye paints? I haven’t seen anyone talk about them but they’ve released shades on and off for the last few years
i have them and i personally love them!!! they compare pretty well to the about face in my experience. from this video it looks they have a closer formula and consistency to the glisten spectra paints
ok this finished look is SO GOOOOOD. the white/black across-the-nose shape is so cool. glisten is more accessible to me currently than aboutface, and i'm super considering picking up the cyan, pink, yellow bundle for a fun mixing trio. this info was super helpful! thank you so much. 💖💖💖

As for the oil comment around 10:35:
The Glisten one does have oil - there's some mineral oil according to the ingredient list. I suspect that gives you that longer time to work with. That ingredient also might be the reason why Glisten itself said they dry a bit tacky and one might want to set it with a bit of powder... So I assume that it should make it better as eyeshadow base and that it shouldn't crack on its own.
A bit later, it seems you weren't informed about the tackiness of Glisten. I think Glisten only did that on Instagram and maybe only in the comments? Idk.
As for sheerness, I think Glisten did that on purpose as well? They still got the liners for more drawing purposes. If they release some sealant for them (and there were hints of it several months ago, but I guess perfecting the formula takes time?), then making more opaque paints would collide with the liners...? That's just my theory.
As for ~14:00 colour comparisons. I love the Glisten did magenta, it makes sense for mixing! The About Face ones have just more "wearable" pink, rather than creative or mixing ones.
As for green, Glisten literally named their Forest. :) The light green can be done easily by mixing Cyan (the one you have on the lid) and yellow. The Glisten's CMY are not perfect CMY but close enough for mixing purposes, so together with other shades to correct it a bit (like adding Forest green to the Cyan+Yellow mix) you can pretty much get any colour you want.
Oooo that’s good to know! I hadn’t seen their comment about setting it with powder but it did wear really well on my lid once it dried down!😍 I’ll have to try setting it on my underyes next time tho!
This video was super helpful for the order I placed a few days ago with Glisten during their sale! Have you tried mixing any of the Matte Fluid paints with the Spectra paints? I just realized I'd kind of assumed I'd be able to, and now I'm thinking that might not have been the best thought process on my part 😅
