This is literally the best rundown on the about face paints I have seen! Thank you for putting in the effort it definitely looks like a lot of work
Love the depth of this video!!
this was thorough and well demonstrated! thank you!
Your analytical style is so appreciated. I really feel like I got the information I wanted. Thank you!
Thank you for this! I've never seen such an in depth, unbiased review of these. Hence why I hadn't gotten any yet. I'm glad to have some info on them before making any purchases.
I KNEW there was something weird with the mattes!!! I've purchased a couple, and mine keep tending to be the sheer formula and not the raved-about, perfectly opaque formula.
Great video! Sooo real! I appreciate you 😊😊
Thank you so much for such a detailed review. I saved my money)
Great review on fluid eye paints. Shimmers seem to be easier to work with!
they definitely are!
okay wow thank you for all the work you put into this video! the spring green and the royal blue were the two I've always been attracted to but.. the blue looks good but I don't want stained blue lids 😅
the blue will definitely stain!! but I had no issues with the spring green one (everything now)
I have a lot of the mattes and i have loved every shade ive bought.
I'm glad these are working for you!
thank u for this video 😭😭 everyone was saying theyre amazing so i bought some but for me they kept getting patchy and i was like ??? is it just for me. im glad someone else noticed that 😓
another great THOROUGH review! colorful matte liquid eyeshadows are my jam, and I've been slowly collecting a single unique color from different brands. I've yet to try about-face's (even tho they're currently the most popular rn) bc I've yet to choose that one shade from their wide selection. so this video was super helpful :)
thank you! I think the shade Replicant is quite unique, but I also only have the Danessa Myrics Color Fixes, so maybe you already have a shade like that from another brand!
Apply this with a big flat cream foundation brush , it need to be big to do it fast enough…. That being said makeup should be fun
I’m returning all my colours except caplets and using it as a base
I’m already intimidated by liquid eyeshadows, so your experience tells me that these are probably not for me! The glitter shadows might be good as a topper. I do like About Face’s other products, but this review has been so helpful! Thanks so much for all of the time that you put into this 😊
I have maybe eight matte shades and one glitter. I personally love the lighter tones but definitely agree with you that the formulas are inconsistent. And if you are getting a brighter/ deeper shade they are not very user friendly. Not a big fan of the glitter formula.
This was a great review! Glad I found your channel 💓
Wow, great informative video! Thanks… new subscriber!
thank you for this! I bought like nine of these in bright colors and they are patchy for me, too!! I honestly thought there was something wrong with my eyelids. They also look very dry and wrinkly when they set
I can cackling at the application footage of Infinity - that looks ROUGH. Thanks for a fantastic overview! I definitely struggle with blending these and the 4 shades I own are mid-tone or brights. I find that the only way I can get a nice blend is applying extremely thin layers and just tapping with my finger. The moment I take a brush to it, it becomes patchy.
This was super helpful! Thank you for sharing! 💜 Do you have any experience with how waterproof or not these are? I'm looking for a formula that has bright, fun colors, but I can wear on days I might end up in the pool. Thanks! 🌻
I always wondered about them, I would be curious about how they compare to the Half Magic ones. For now, it is an easy pass for me. The video was helpful ❤
Ooh I don't have the half magic ones but if I ever pick them up I'll do a comparison!
the opaque ones look smooth while some of the sheer ones look dry, i have the white one n it dries tf out of my eyes n is so patchy, it makes my eyeshadow pop tho, i even use an eyeshadow primer 😂😂
Well that's not good. I am glad to see this as what I use certain colors for such as the black or the white for a base. I don't mind that it's sheer but advertise it correctly because Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty had this as half off and there's going to be alot of upset customers who bought these and aren't getting what they were hoping for
Update: so I tried my Hidden Garden the way I normally would use it and this formula needs a primer whether it be the about-face primer, the milk Hydro grip primer, the elf power grip primer...it needs a primer. Second thing: You need to use a different brush. It works well with a denser/stiffer brush to blend or apply liner.
I agree that the formula shouldn't need you to have an Associates Degree in Art but it is possible to make it work. The dark blue shade can be sheered out to a gorgeous cobalt blue and is a better true blue than what is in that kit...you just need a lighter hand when mixing it for other colors
What is the shimmers you put on your eye? About face again?
They are listed on the description! They are not from about face
