Hold up a second that’s weird that he said that the golem doesn’t really gain anything with the gold and glitter everything else but the way I built my thorns is that my bone has more thorns than my minions and on top of that I don’t use the sword skeletons I use the shield skeletons and they deal even more thorns

Best ways is to start a new character and power lvl up it, here comes the multiple set build like diablo 3 that should be in diablo 4 so you just have to switch to it instantly
@@davisparkour I'm new to the game literally less than 20 total hours on it I think, and the build paths in this game confuse me, are maxroll guides better than mobalytics? Sorry for the long text.
I have been Thorns from day 1 of season 4. I love Bone Golem the 2nd skill that makes Vulnerable. He runs in, taunts and everything dies also adds vulnerable to bosses and you can usually just spam it with decrepify. My build doesn't even use an Ultimate skill, not needed in my experiences. I do use ring of sacriligious to continously trigger Aphotic to heal me.
@@Elvio-G I don’t have anything in a website but I guess I could put one somewhere and link it. I can tell you my skills with Ring of Sac are decrepify, Golem, Raise Skeleton, Blood Mist, Corpse Explosion and Corpse Tendrils. I play on controller so the layout is what works for me. I know you can get big damage with Ultimate skills but the minions doing thorns with vulnerable enemies are enough to just walk through Pits just shooting off Decrep and Golem into packs and they die. Then I just hang out for the boss while it dies. I’ll admit I can’t beat Lilith right now but I’ve soloed Tormented Duriel, The dude near the tree I forgot his name, Zir and Greg dude too. Im not sure about needle flarę in this build. I have it tested, how it worka after changes and i have learned that it works only if player gets hit, not Minions, and it shares players weak thorns over Minions
the equipment shown does not correspond to the equipment in the linked guide. why is that? in the video a lot of skeleton mage damage is used and in the linked guide summoning damage is used. in the video green stones are used in the weapon in the linked build blue stones are recommended.
The two handed is great especially for bursting Ubers but blighted is also getting nerfed into the ground next season. Probably gonna be more worth have that extra cd and stats
Would it be possible to fit Doombringer with a shield into this? I feel like the extra health and shadow damage would be a boon to this setup. And Shields inherently grant thorns as well. Also the Taunting Skeletal Warriors ensure that everything focuses them down instead of you. I have been wanting to find a good thorns minion build and I'm just throwing ideas out there that you probably already thought of. I'm sure whatever maths involved makes what you chose more logical for damage. To me though, It feels right using like I aforementioned.
Thanks for all the necro guides this season - super helpful! Can you help me understand something though, is +% damage a valuable stat at all? It seems it should be because everyone is choosing 2H scythe over 2H sword just for the higher base damage. Do minions actually inherit this or is it best to maximize DPS with (1) Atk Speed (to 100% combined cap w/ Frenzied Dead), then (2) Int, (3) Crit Chance, (4) Crit Dmg in order of priority?
Sword is actually probably better than scythe, but they are close enough that its not a big deal. Ultimately just run whichever you get that is good. +Damage works fully on minions. In terms of the priority for stats, I agree with your assesment. Int and crit are close but the int buffs your thorns
So would ideal DPS priority actually be: 1. 925 level 2H sword or scythe (whichever has better stats but preference for sword) 2. Attack Speed + Minion Attack Speed + Frenzied Dead up to 100% (btw if I can hit 100% without Frenzied Dead should I drop the aspect for another damage one?) 3. Int (best multiplier that also gives you AR which frees paragon nodes for more damage (e.g. I go for the +% Damage to Elites instead of AR nodes) 4. +% Damage (increases all forms of damage) 5. CDR + Ultimate CDR (more uptime) 6. CC (conditional damage likelihood) 7. CD (higher conditional damage)
Your video is completely different from your build on mobalytics making this incredibly confusing. I bought all the gear, masterworked up to 10 on everything, maxed glyphs, exact talents, exact paragon board, exact enchants, exact book of the dead and liliths hp creeps down incredibly slowly
This is how nearly all Diablo build videos work. They make the video then they update the build on the site as new and better info becomes available. It’s really kind of common sense.
are the temperings +mage damage giving mage also more thorn damage? or do the +skills to mastery count only? wouldnt +damage to cursed enemies be the best tempering to make all minions do more damage AND thorn damage? the skel. warriors do the majority of the thorn damage as you mentioned but they dont have a tempering in your build, only +skills.
Definitely an interesting build but yeah the way that life spikes up and down and how many potions have to be used I’m not totally convinced still interesting tho.
I have a question that you mite be able to answer. I found a item that gives you +21 life per hit, if I have thorns on an items, will that count as a hit?
I tried it and feel kinda meh compared to normal minion build. Honestly, the thorns damage feels kinda weak and I lose an aspect and some useful stats. This only works vs bosses that do quick and wide aoe attacks (not many) and most mobs and elites are stunned by corpse tendrils and they can't attack anyway which should be the case at end game anyway or they will kill you. On the side note: people should pay more attention to Aphotic Aspect (Skeletal Priests empower your Skeletal Warriors' attacks to deal Shadow Damage and have a chance to Stun enemies). I personally love this for 100+ high pit pushing. I find it to be best for me personally as I can stun and kill the bosses way faster with it so I can proc things like control glyph.
I agree with you and I would generally recommend people to just play pure mages. But the thorns variation has its uses. Aphotic is great primarily because it causes your warriors to proc abhorrent decrepify and reset your cooldowns
do you think this is worth it without the razorplate. im at this spot where i dont have GA golem mastery chest or any golem mastery so my golem feels weak so i was curious if i could use this tech to fill the dps gap? and maybe farm a razorplate lol
