For Siocast instead of using metal files use a very fine grain sanding stick. The material of Siocast is a Nylon based thermoplastic which has a very high melting point and becomes fibrous if you hit it with a metal file. It behaves a bit like the material of your fingernails so using the same sort of tools as you would to do your nails, namely sanding with high grit sandpaper will give you good results.
Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a go. Tried those on the earlier sio, and it didn't work, but I've yet to try it on the newer stuff. Will give it a try!
I wish they were 32mm scale instead of 34mm mainly because I’ve been collecting my own makeshift medieval fantasy figures, just wished they could’ve been compatible with those. But terrific looking models. Thank you for confirming the sizes!
Great video, lots to consider for prepping the model for the first time. Im such a new person in the wargaming scene and i really appreciate the narative element via RPG and the color dice and token familiarity make things go quicker. Ive already pre-ordered mine!
Woo! Good job and welcome to the game. With the mini prep, apparently ultra fine sanding sticks are REALLY helpful. I've yet to try them, but feedback from trusted sources is good! Good luck and thanks for watching.
Really well. Had no issues priming with an airbrush and working with a brush both fine. Honestly, not sure I am that good of a painter to do a tutorial. Will see how mine turn out then decide! 😉
Well, best thing to do is start a community! 💪 From the games we've played, easier than Infinity, but crunchier than Legion. It's in a nice spot at the minute but we need to see how it develops.
my siocast penitent broke also lol she got yeeted across teh room as i was working on her and her sword snapped off, it was an easy fix but if it was a GW or privateer plastic model nothing would have happened to it.
I'm not worried about the dial. Place tokens, move dial. My one complaint is that the plastic pin that holds it together creates a pivot-point that makes it unstable and not lie flat.
CB stated that cards will be available online so when they change something you will be able to print new cards. I think that is a good solution as it will not happen that often and everyone out there even without a printer can find a good print shop (even online) that will print cards in good quality and not expensive at all. I laughed when you used an Orc miniature to compare to a human from Infinity and stated it is quite larger... why not human to human? lol that would show the actual size difference.
True on the cards, plus the army builder will be available, too. But having to print your own for a product you've already bought is not an upside for me. And true on the mini comparison! That's wasn't my brightest moment...
I can't decide where I stand on Siocast. My minis have been either excellent (Marut, Nomad Remotes, Caskuda) or annoyingly bad (Vostok, big sword nun lady, bearpode, Hassassin TAG).
yep siocast is crap and for the price it's unacceptable... then we'll support CB anyway as always but this starter box costs almost as much as Skaventide and the value is not even remotely comparable. The rulebook is not even included you have to buy it separately and at that point it's 200 euros (more than Skaventide! for like 10 minis that 2 years ago in Infinity and metal would have costed u 60 bucks).
Unless the infantry minis are significantly cheaper than CB metals this is a nonstarter for me. The minis look ok, but I can see the kind of soft deformations and brutal gaps and mold line issues that comes from siocrap. Really hate the material. Thank you for the comprehensive review.
The models are a pretty big concern, I’ve had horrible experiences with Knight Models which use the same material and all the problems they’ve had are the same you referenced here. I’m excited for the game but the siocast is definitely a bit of a disappointment in my opinion
Ordered the bundle. Cant wait.
NICE! Which faction do you like the most so far?
I’m getting ready for my warcrow box watching all your videos. Thanks mate!
That's cool, glad you're here.

You're welcome. It is an odd size but, yes, they are lovely.

Cannot wait to get my set. I am so excited
Good! That's exactly as it should be... and you SHOULD be hyped. ;)
It looks decent, and CB’s minis are top-notch as always
Yes, yes they are.
It looks great! thanks for the review!
No problem, thanks for watching.
Thank you for sharing the unboxing video. Good to see what can we have in the box. Now my wallet is dying 😂 have to gather money first haha
Well, maybe not...
How do those minis take primer and paint? Any how to paint tutorial in the future?
Really well. Had no issues priming with an airbrush and working with a brush both fine. Honestly, not sure I am that good of a painter to do a tutorial. Will see how mine turn out then decide! 😉
Très beau matériel en tout cas
100%
Great review. I hope a community for this develops in my area. What game systems would you compare the crunchiness or complexity too?
Well, best thing to do is start a community! 💪

Ooof, that's rough.
The bear is quickly selling me to this game
As well it should!
Wondering what the release schedule will be of the other factions..as a lot of my local meta seems to be invested in the 1st release.
Yeah, as soon as we hear anything, we'll let you know but so far it's soon (tm)

I can see that...
Did they change the figures that come in the box? I thought that you only got orcs in the starter box
Nope, it's always been a two-player set, as with Infinity.
I was able scrape with the back of my knife and use 400 grit sanding sponge.
Good to know. Will give that a try!
So minis don't come prebuilt ?
Nope, they do not.

I can understand that. But these are a step up, so I am optimistic!
Which faction to chose is so hard for this game.
That's why I am on four currently...
From what you said it seems like the battle systems terrain is smaller?
Possibly. I've yet to get it out and check, but I will this week
@@thedicegodswg coolio! I've been waiting to see how the game looks with other terrain sets!
@@Pokephantom planning to take some shots when I get a chance!
Many tokens? Laughs in Star Wars Legion.
I mean, legion is beyond many...

Having had the minis in hand, I would say vast improvement on early siocast. Vast.

I can tell you're not a fan. I would say it's improved markedly, and my scepticism is much reduced. As to cheaper, no, and I don't think it will be.
WHAT DO YOU KNOW?!
Mysterious Warcrow giveaway?!?!
EVERYTHING! We're Dice Gods, I mean...?

As I say in the review, now I've had them in hand, I am not concerned. I'd recommend giving it a go.
Does it inject any sort of political agenda into the game?
...not that I've noticed?
lol
